They have ATMs that dispense USD and you can walk into a bar and buy a beer with 50 cents. The border areas of Laos are triple currency, USD, Thai baht and the Laos Kip.

What I have said is that in the event of a redenomination dual pricing will come into effect, where both the old and new currencies will be used at the same time in the shops for a period of time. The UK had dual pricing in 1971, you could buy a pint of beer for 2 shillings or 10 pence piece.

The economic cost of terrorism is calculated according to four indicators: deaths, injuries and property losses, in addition to national product losses.

Money and business   Economy News _ Baghdad   The value of certificates of origin for Kuwait's non-oil exports increased by 11 percent in October compared to the same month last year, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Commerce and Industry said Thursday.

"Iraq tops the list of arab countries importing the most imported exports from Kuwait, followed by Jordan, Algeria, Lebanon, Yemen, Egypt, Tunisia, while the UAE ranked first in the Gulf, followed by Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman and finally Bahrain," the Kuwaiti ministry said in a press release.

"The number of certificates of origin for exports to Arab and foreign countries reached 1,901 certificates worth 16.9 million Kuwaiti dinars (about 55 million U.S. dollars) last October, compared to 1,503 certificates worth 15.2 million dinars (about $50 million) in the same month last year," she said.

"The number of certificates for Kuwaiti exports to Arab countries, excluding the GCC countries, amounted to 482 million dinars (about 20.7 million dollars), compared with 73 certificates worth 2.7 million dinars (about 8.8 million dollars) to foreign countries," it said.

Abdul Mahdi adviser: the government is finalizing the final accounts of the 2018 budget to be submitted to Parliament

The economic adviser to Prime Minister Abdul Hussein al-Hanin, on Tuesday,completed the necessary preparations to submit the final accounts of the 2018

budget to the House of Representatives for the purpose of approval.

He said that the Council of Ministers, in cooperation with the Audit Bureau, is in the process of finalizing the draft final accounts for 2018.

He added that "the accounts will be submitted to the House of Representatives for the purpose of ratification," noting that "their purpose is to uncover corruption and close the door to manipulation and facilitate work on the House of Representatives to approve the 2020 budget."

Since the outbreak of popular demonstrations in Baghdad and the central and southern provinces, which are still ongoing, denouncing corruption and demanding the departure of the ruling political elite, several courts have issued arrest warrants for local officials and former and current members of the House of Representatives for corruption, and sentenced some of them to prison.

Economy News _ Baghdad   Iran's customs service said Tuesday that exports of non-oil goods to the Uae and Iraq touched $8 billion in seven months, from March 21 to October 22, 2019.

Customs data showed that Iraq was the second largest importer of Iranian goods in the period with $5.173 billion and 21.2 percent of total export, while the UAE came third with a share of 11.4 percent and 2.784 billion dollars, with China leading the list with $6.1 billion and 24.9 percent.

Turkey ranked fourth on the list with $2.672 billion, 10.95 percent, and Afghanistan fifth with $1.283 billion and 5.26 percent.
