President Barzani And Al-Kazemi Discuss Security Challenges And The Iraqi Political Process

Posted On2022-10-04 By Sotaliraq   President Masoud Barzani and Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi discussed in Erbil on Monday the most prominent security challenges facing Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, as well as the future of the political process in Iraq.

Parliamentary Sessions Are Expected After Only One Condition Is Met

Posted On2022-10-04 By Sotaliraq   The coordination framework confirmed, on Tuesday, that the general situation in Iraq is ripe for the resumption of parliamentary sessions, indicating that its convening depends on the consensus of the Kurds.

And the leader, Fahd al-Jubouri, said in an interview, that "there are no obstacles to convening the next parliament sessions, especially after the previous parliament session was held and the deputy speaker of parliament was chosen."

He added, "The political forces that withdrew from the political process did not express a position opposing the convening of the council's sessions, so the situation is ripe for holding any upcoming session," noting that "the holding of the session for selecting the president of the republic depends on the Kurds reaching a common agreement."  LINK

Extension: There is no choice but for Iraq to become its own master

Posted On2022-10-04 By Sotaliraq   The extension movement affirmed, with regard to the sovereignty of the country, that there is no choice but for Iraq to become its own master, stressing that international and regional powers should not interfere by imposing their will in forming its future governments.

This came in a statement: Monday (October 3, 2022), on the occasion of the anniversary of Iraq's accession as a member of the League of Nations in 1932 and the global recognition of its sovereignty.

The movement, which emerged from the October 2019 demonstrations, expressed its ambition for Iraq to obtain its "true sovereignty".

The statement added: "After ninety years, we see that sovereignty is being violated every day by neighboring countries and other international forces, loose weapons, and the mafias of corrupt parties that swallowed up the wealth of this rich country."

An extension movement, which held that “there is no choice but for Iraq to become its own master, and the international and regional powers have no say in imposing their will to form its successive governments, so that the outcomes will be national governments that cannot be blackmailed or weakened by those forces that only care about their interests and the interests of their people.”

Thus, “Extension” announced that their joy and celebration of this occasion would be suspended until “the return of full sovereignty.”

It is worth noting that the United Nations Security Council will hold a session on the situation in Iraq tomorrow, Tuesday (4 October 2022).

And the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI), stated in a statement today, that the United Nations Security Council will hold a session on the situation in Iraq on Tuesday, at 10:00 a.m. New York time (5:00 p.m. Baghdad time).

The statement added that "the Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Iraq, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, is expected to brief the session on developments in Iraq, and on the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI).

This comes in light of the political paralysis in Iraq for months, and the accompanying demonstrations in Baghdad and many provinces, demonstrations on the third anniversary of the October protests, the intense security deployment of the security forces, and the closure and cutting of several bridges, roads and squares in Iraqi cities

Where the parties still monopolize the political scene a year after the legislative elections in October 2021, politicians are still quarreling unable to choose a new prime minister.   LINK

The Frame” Catches Its Breath After The Dispersal Of The Saturday Protests, And Al-Sadr Tweets: The Blessed State Without Militias

Posted On2022-10-04 By Sotaliraq  Baghdad / Tamim Al-Hassan  The coordination framework caught its breath after the dispersal of Saturday's demonstrations, and understood what happened that day as a green light to proceed with the formation of a coalition government under his leadership.

News circulates in political circles about setting the end of this month as a date for a session to nominate the President of the Republic, in preparation for the presentation of the new cabinet.

But on the other hand, the level of confidence of the "framework" of the street's reactions to his plan is not equal. There are those within the Shiite bloc who are still pessimistic.

This pessimism is supported by the protesters' announcement that they will return after two weeks to demonstrate if the political forces do not respond to the list of demands broadcast on Saturday, and the difficulty of predicting the movements of the Sadrists.

To remove embarrassment from the "framework" and to anticipate any unexpected scenarios, the latter is still promoting the idea of the "outstretched hand" in his speech with al-Sadr.

Yesterday, Al-Sadr broke some of his political silence that has been going on for about a month, and repeated his famous phrase, "Neither Eastern nor Western", in a tweet on the occasion of the National Day.

In the week preceding the demonstrations commemorating the third anniversary of the October demonstrations, the coordination framework had announced unofficially a new coalition that includes all political forces except for al-Sadr.

A Shiite politician close to Al-Attar said in an interview with Al-Mada that "the end of Saturday's demonstrations has indications that there is no opposition to the formation of the government of Muhammad Al-Sudani."

The security forces used stun grenades and tear gas to disperse the demonstrators in Tahrir Square on Saturday evening, hours after stones and Molotov cocktails were thrown between the two parties.

The number of wounded among the demonstrators has fluctuated, reaching about 200, as a result of suffocation and stone injuries, according to activists.

On the other hand, the official statistics issued by the Government Media Cell spoke of about 30 casualties, between military and civilians.

The media cell said it had arrested what it described as "infiltrators" who were throwing glass balls at the security forces.

Thousands gathered on Saturday morning in the Tahrir Squares in central Baghdad, and Al-Nusour, west of the capital, to demand the prevention of the formation of a government according to party sizes, and the punishment of the killers of Tishreen.

After the dispersal of the protests, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi announced that his government had met the demands of the 2019 demonstrations, to treat the wounded and arrest the "death squads."

Last Friday, Al-Kazemi issued strict orders not to fire live bullets at the protesters, and to prevent any armed demonstrations.

And the coordinating framework had expected to repeat last Saturday, the scenario of what happened 3 years ago, when the sit-ins lasted about 6 months before “Corona” spread and the Al-Kazemi government was formed.

In light of these concerns, the "framework" postponed the announcement of the state administration coalition, as a press conference on the new coalition or signature papers on the agreement had not yet appeared.

The politician who is close to the "framework" adds after the dispersal of the protests that: "The new coalition has no choice but to proceed with the understandings to form the government."

The coordination framework considered what happened last Saturday as a result of the infiltration of a number of "saboteurs and intruders" in the demonstrations.

The framework stated in a statement on Sunday that it "appreciates the great role played by the participating security forces in protecting state institutions and the demonstrators alike from intruders and saboteurs who committed some unacceptable violations and abuses during the Saturday demonstrations."

He added that «the right to peaceful demonstration and to demand legitimate rights within the ceiling of the constitution and the law to ensure that the Iraqi people form a new government with full powers, capable of imposing security, providing services and eliminating corruption».

Political mines!

The politician believes that there are "mines" and "pitfalls" in front of forming a government that need additional dialogues, such as the issue of the pledge to keep the Popular Mobilization away from some Sunni areas, and the relationship with the Kurdistan region.

As for the most concerned factor among some "frameworkers", according to what the informed politician conveys, it is "the difficulty of knowing what is going on in the minds of the Sadrist movement, which is believed to have participated in Saturday's protests."

Al-Sadr broke his silence yesterday, which began about a month ago, in what was known as the "Arba'een truce" imposed by the atmosphere of the Arba'een visit of Imam Hussein in Karbala.

And the leader of the movement said in his last tweet on "Twitter", commenting on the national day, that "the real national day of Iraq is the day of its liberation from corruption and spoilers."

Al-Sadr added: “On the day of true reform, there is no subordination, no quotas, no experiment, no corruption, no external interference, no militias.”

Al-Sadr also referred in his tweet to what he described as the "blessed state", which is "neither Eastern nor Western."

Al-Sadr's circles had recently hinted at the possibility of returning to the street, with a date for choosing the president of the republic.

The resigned Sadrist MP Haider al-Muhammadawi said on his Facebook page that "the session for selecting the president of the republic and assigning the prime minister will be decisive (the last fight)."

On the other hand, the Sadrists' calls meet with the protesters, as activists talk about Ayyo's rejection of a government formed by the coordination framework.

Before the withdrawal, the protesters in Al-Nusour Square gave the parties until the 25th of this month to leave the political process, vowing to take "escalatory" steps.

The final statement of the demonstration about the demonstrators stated that: "Our goal is to change the political system (...) and to zero in on the entire existing political process."

The statement added: “We will give all political forces until the twenty-fifth of this October, to leave the political process and zero it, otherwise we are proceeding with larger and broader steps and escalatory mechanisms, and we will not give them the opportunity to rest.”

They also called for a "interim transitional government under international supervision", led by an elite of patriots, provided that none of the personalities who held positions after 2003 should be in it.

According to the scenes of the discussions of the political forces, the date of the 30th of this month for the elections of the President of the Republic is set, and it seems that the date came to wait for what might happen on the 25th of next.

But so far, there is no date for a future session of Parliament, with the exception of the announcement by the Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Shakhwan Abdullah, about collecting the signatures of 125 deputies to discuss the Iranian bombing of Erbil.

Shakhwan said in a statement to Kurdish media that the signatures had already been collected, but "without setting a date for the session."

Meanwhile, Jawad al-Ghazali, a representative of the state of law, told Al-Mada that "the coordinating framework still has dialogues with all political forces, and that its hands and heart are open to the Sadrist movement."

The "frameworks" had revealed the possibility of conceding half of the supposed Shiite ministries in the next government (6 out of 12) to the Sadrist movement and discussing early elections.

Al-Ghazali adds that "holding early elections is linked to the opinion of the parliament, the new government, the amendment of the law and the commission."   LINK

Samson:  For the second day, oil prices continue to rise

04/10/2022 08:10:21

Oil prices continued to rise for a second day in early Asian trading, amid expectations that OPEC + may agree to a significant reduction in crude production when it meets tomorrow, Wednesday, but concerns about the global economy limited the gains.

Oil prices rose on Monday on renewed concerns about tight supply. There are expectations that the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and its allies, collectively known as OPEC+, will cut production by more than 1 million barrels per day in their first in-person meeting since 2020 on Wednesday.

Reuters quoted sources in OPEC as saying that voluntary cuts by members could come on top of that, making it the largest wave of cuts since the start of the Covid-19 epidemic.

Brent crude futures rose 41 cents, or 0.46 percent, to $89.27 a barrel by 0444 GMT, after gaining more than 4 percent in the previous session. US crude futures also rose 22 cents, or 0.3 percent, to $83.85 a barrel. It had risen more than five percent in the previous session, marking its biggest daily gain since May. “Despite everything going on with the war in Ukraine, OPEC+ has never been this strong and will do whatever it takes to make sure prices are supported,” Edward Moya, a senior analyst at OANDA, said in a note.

And OPEC + boosted production this year after record cuts in 2020 due to the damage to demand caused by Corona. But the organization failed in the past few months to meet the planned increases in production, which it did not achieve in July, by 2.9 million barrels per day.

Oil prices have fallen for four consecutive months as the COVID-19 shutdown in China, the largest oil importer, curbed demand while higher interest rates and a stronger dollar put pressure on global financial markets.

Major central banks embarked on the biggest round of interest rate increases in decades, raising fears of a global economic slowdown.

A preliminary poll by Reuters showed, on Monday, that US crude oil inventories increased by about two million barrels in the week ending September 30.  LINK

Tishwash:  Al-Kazemi: We were on the brink of a civil war.. Al-Sadr has the right to form the government, but he made a mistake

The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, stated that the country was on the verge of a civil war following the bloody confrontations in the fortified Green Zone in the center of the capital, Baghdad, between supporters of the Sadrist movement on the one hand, and the security forces and armed factions on the other hand, but he stressed that Al-Sadr has the right to form The next federal government, however, made a mistake and missed the opportunity after the withdrawal of his bloc from Parliament and the political process.

This came in an interview conducted by French journalist and writer Georges Malbrunot, chief editor of the French newspaper "Le Figaro", with Al-Kazemi.

Al-Kazemi answered a question the newspaper asked him about the day of the bloody confrontations in the Green Zone, saying: Yes, we were on the brink of a civil war, but the government worked with all wisdom and measure so as not to be dragged into that, adding that it was the two parties’ bet that the government would be with a party, but I took The decision is not to be a party.

He added that within 24 hours of the raging conflict, I used all my capabilities and made all possible communications and gave clear, explicit and firm directions to the security forces to remove the specter of civil war, and I succeeded. This is my decision from the first day of the work of my government is not to be a party to any conflict, and to maintain moderation and balance. I firmly believe that we must move away from being drawn into violence.

And he was asked about the goal of the demonstrators on August 29 last as a result of the events in the Green Zone, Al-Kazemi said, on that day, there was chaos among all the parties involved. Both sides had decisions based on wrong data that dragged them into the arena of confrontation.

He noted that all parties tried to flex their muscles, and some parties tried to express their anger, but they made a mistake in choosing a way to express it, indicating that the beginnings were spontaneous, and we succeeded in removing the demonstrators from the government palace peacefully, and the demonstrators were determined to leave Parliament Also, however, things developed between the two parties suddenly and ended up between them in a dangerous armed confrontation. That is why I always stress the need to consolidate the values of democracy, adhere to the mechanisms of the modern civil state, and use the diplomacy of dialogue and understanding in accordance with the logic of the modern civil state.

And regarding the goal of the Sadrists, was it a coup or isolating leaders through confrontations with the Greens, Al-Kazemi said that there was no intention of a coup or anything like that at all. There was popular anger that was sometimes expressed in improper ways, and this was also accompanied by the unacceptable use of weapons and violence, and in the end both sides miscalculated and got involved in bloodshed.

He stated that the statements of a number of political leaders had also contributed to this, which created a dangerous escalation that contributed to igniting the fuse of violence between the two parties. In fact, there is a strong psychological war going on between the two sides, which the political leaders should be wary of.

He was asked about the fact that the Sadrists wanted early elections, and the Prime Minister said that not all political parties dealt wisely and rationally, and the reason was not to submit to the law. We have a very clear constitution, laws and constitutional timings, but unfortunately they have not been adhered to.

He explained that the reason is that the political forces do not believe in true democratic values, but rather believe in power and authority only. The values of democracy are new to the country, and therefore these values are alien to the political class and far from their behavior.

On the accusations against Al-Kazemi of allowing the Sadrists to enter the Green Zone, he replied: I did not allow them, but the security forces, under my direction, stood with full force before them, and our forces provided many wounded to prevent them from entering and storming state institutions.

However, he added: But the momentum of the demonstrators was great and the security forces were unable to stop them, and I had directed them not to use live bullets in all cases to prevent them from being drawn into violence, but some forces still believe in using dictatorial methods of violence and repression, and they want me to shoot live bullets at Citizens, this is unacceptable and completely contradicts my belief in democratic values, human rights and the civilized world.

With regard to Al-Sadr's stopping the bloody confrontation, the Iraqi Prime Minister stated that the pressures of various parties contributed to the matter. Scenes of bloodshed and victims as well, and the possible repercussions of this on the already tense Iraqi scene also led Al-Sadr to the decision to withdraw, and Al-Sadr himself blamed all parties, including his group, for the events.

On the necessity of early elections, Al-Kazemi said that everyone agrees on early elections. The recent elections, despite their high integrity, attested by the Security Council, the United Nations, the European Union, and other international organizations that participated in observing them, did not lead to the formation of a government due to the failure of the political forces to agree, and the scramble for power at the expense of the citizen and the movement to build the country. Therefore, as in all other parliamentary systems, there must be another election to resolve the political crisis.

Al-Kazemi called on all political parties to meet now and establish the mechanisms for conducting the elections, while providing the legal, administrative and financial requirements for holding the elections.

He stressed that the country urgently needs to agree on a new social contract, and to consolidate the culture of democratic values of respecting the constitution, its timing and the results of the elections and dealing with them rationally, away from duplicity in looking at it, as they accept its results when it leads to victory and reject that when it leads to a loss for them.

Regarding Al-Sadr’s victory in the elections and his right to form a government, Al-Kazemi pointed out that Al-Sadr had won the most seats in the recent elections, and of course he should have the opportunity to form a government, but at the same time, Al-Sadr must search for other partners to be able to form the government.

He also said that al-Sadr had also made a mistake in his decision to withdraw from Parliament, which gave his rivals the opportunity to fill his void and turn into the largest bloc in Parliament. All Iraqi political forces are still young on democratic values and are not good at the game of modern democratic politics.   link

Did The Iraqi Parliament Session End The Crisis, Or Did It Establish New Ones?

Posted On2022-10-02 By Sotaliraq   Speculation increased about the fate of the Iraqi political crisis after the parliament session, which renewed confidence in its president, Muhammad al-Halbousi, as it was considered a return to work in the legislative authority of Parliament after its disruption, and it constituted a milestone in the crisis of the current regime caused by the results of the early elections, despite the depth of differences in Iraq and the division of the street. Among the many leaders.

Baghdad Document

The deputy of the "Al-Fateh Alliance", Mortada Al-Saadi, revealed part of the details of the "Baghdad Document" launched by Al-Halbousi, noting that the "coordinating framework" candidate for prime minister made a pledge regarding the "Sadr movement", while the recent bombing of the Green Zone was considered a "message to the political parties." “.

Al-Saadi said in a televised statement that “the last parliament session is the beginning of the easing of the political crisis,” noting that “the political situation is tense, but the tripartite forces represented by the Coordination Framework, the Sovereignty Alliance, and the Kurdistan Democratic Party were highly coherent.”

He revealed that "the Baghdad document launched by al-Halbousi includes dialogue between the tripartite forces and the forces outside parliament, without any external interference," noting that "the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, did not express any objection to the holding of the parliament session, and in general he does not object." The current calls for the resumption of the sessions,” considering that “leaving reality to the ministries is a rebellion against the law and an encouragement to violations.”

While Al-Saadi confirmed that “there is no dialogue at the moment between the framework and the current,” he spoke about “the coordination framework’s adherence to the participation of the Sadrists in the new government in accordance with the parliamentary entitlement for them, represented by 73 deputies,” stressing that “there is no solution without dialogue, and there is adherence by the leader of the Fatah Alliance Hadi. Al-Amiri to meet with Al-Sadr, but not in the near future.”

With regard to the presidency, al-Saadi said that "the Kurds reached an agreement of 85 percent regarding the presidency of the republic," noting that "the parliament will hold a session as soon as possible if an agreement is reached between the Kurdish parties on a candidate for the presidency." He considered that proceeding with the 2018 agreement "causes a state of inconsistency and constitutes a nucleus for weakening the government."

As for the renewal of the caretaker prime minister, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, he confirmed that “the framework forces unanimously reject this matter.”

Regarding the nomination of Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani to head the government, Al-Saadi stated that “there are no objections to it from the political parties,” and indicated that “Al-Sadr did not accept or reject the coordination candidate, and if he refused, he must state the reasons,” stressing that “the framework decided his order to nominate Al-Sudani for the presidency.” Ministers and awaits his official assignment from the President of the Republic.”

He explained that "the international position with the formation of a new strong government with full powers is moving towards addressing the Iraqi reality in general."

Regarding the recent bombing of Al-Khadra, the representative of the “Al-Fateh Alliance” saw that it was “a message to the allied parties, and an attempt to retreat from yesterday’s session,” adding that “the language of weapons will not work and dialogue is the solution,” adding that “whoever adopts the demonstrations disavowed the bombing, and those who adopt The government is sitting in Parliament, and this means that there is a third party that wants to drive the wedge between the political forces.”

He concluded that "the abolition of quotas is a lie and a fantasy."

In turn, the political researcher, Ali Al-Baydar, admitted that "the parliamentary blocs managed to overcome the state of obstruction, but it opened other crises that are more severe than the blockage." Al-Baydar added that “the equation of the missiles that fell on the Green Zone entered the line, which indicates the fragility of the situation and the weakness of the security reality,” noting that “the missiles will be part of the next scene and a new pressure card that will strike everyone who rejects its options.”

Al-Baydar believes that "Al-Sadr will not remain silent about stripping him of everything, and his resigned deputies will push towards fueling the escalation that will lead the country to chaos."

He added, "The state administration coalition will make al-Sadr feel the decline of his influence and his ability to maneuver, and therefore he will go to more severe options, even if it requires the use of weapons to obtain gains."On the other hand, political researcher Saleh Lafta considered that "no one can predict the outcome of the Iraqi political crisis or develop a future vision for it, as it is not like political crises in other countries."

Lafta considered that "there are two different programs, and one party can attract those who share the same vision to the administration of the state, and then gives the second party the opportunity for the first party to form a government, and the second party takes the role of the opposition." He pointed out that “the differences in Iraq are deep, and the street is divided over many leaders, and every leader sings about his nights and does not want a solution that robs him of some of his gains. “.

He considered that “the parliament session, in the manner in which it was held, including road blocks, demonstrations, and popular convulsions, reflects the deteriorating political reality in Iraq, and the need for real solutions to revive Iraq before it reaches the stage of disintegration. Even if the session contributed to solving the crisis or not, the next is more and more crises that will not end no matter how leaders try to hide them, postpone them, or pretend to solve them.”   LINK

Oil Rises 3% On Speculation Of An OPEC + Production Cut

Energy    Economy News-Baghdad   Oil prices jumped more than 3% in early Asian trading on Monday, as OPEC+ considers cutting production by more than 1 million barrels per day in its biggest cut since the pandemic, in an effort to support the market.

Brent crude futures rebounded $2.51, or 3%, to $87.65 a barrel by 02:06 GMT, after settling 0.6% on Friday, and US West Texas Intermediate crude also rose 3%, or $2.39, at 81.88 USD per barrel, after the previous session's 2.1% loss.

Oil prices have fallen for four consecutive months since June, as the COVID-19 shutdown in China, the largest energy consumer, hit demand, while higher interest rates and a stronger US dollar weighed on global financial markets.

OPEC + is considering cutting production by more than 1 million barrels per day before its meeting on Wednesday.   If agreed, it would be the group's second consecutive monthly cut after cutting production by 100,000 barrels per day last month.

Experts said anything less than 500,000 bpd was being ignored by the market. So we see a huge opportunity for a significant reduction of up to 1 million barrels per day.

Economic Website: Iraq Loses 58% Of Electricity Production Due To Distribution Problems

Energy   Economy News-Baghdad   A report by the Eurasia Review website, which analyzes economic reports, confirmed that, despite the fact that Iraq is the second largest oil producer in OPEC, it still suffers from the chronic electricity problem in the country as a result of mismanagement and corruption in this sector.

The report stated that "approximately 95 percent of Iraq's electricity generation comes from oil and natural gas, according to the International Energy Agency, and the use of natural gas has increased from 25 percent in 2016 to nearly 60 percent in 2020, while hydropower represents most of the remaining share of production electricity in the country.

The report stated that, "According to the data, the peak of electricity supply in federal Iraq was 21 gigawatts for the year 2021, which is much less than the required capacity of 37 gigawatts needed to meet the demand in the height of the summer."

He continued, "The available or effective production capacity is much less than the installed capacity due to poor transportation infrastructure, inefficient or damaged power plants, and the peak summer demand usually exceeds the actual generation."

And he indicated that "distribution losses are still a problem in Iraq, from 2011 to 2020, the average distribution losses reached 58 percent of the total electricity supply in the country, which is a large percentage compared to the global average loss of 8 percent, which is a result of inefficiency on the network, poor system design, and high electricity theft rates.

The report pointed out that "in addition to fixing this defect, Iraq needs to diversify sources of electrical energy and engage in the field of renewable energy, such as using solar energy and other clean energy sources to reduce pollution."   55 . views   Added 02/10/2022 - 9:31 PM   Update 10/03/2022 - 12:27 PM

The matter that should be noted, and the ambiguities raised by a deputy who exceeded the limits of his legal duties and obligations, as follows:

1- The sums included in the “emergency support” law were voted on by the House of Representatives, and were subject to discussion and oversight by the members of the House, including the aforementioned deputy, who had to register his objection according to the law to those amounts; As for the Council of Ministers, its legal responsibility is to distribute these amounts to the eligible parties according to the legal tracks, and this is what actually happened.

Al-Zaidi: The October Movement Is An Important Pressure Card On The Path Of The Political Process

Political | 06:21 - 02/10/2022   Baghdad - Mawazine News, the Secretary-General of the Imam Ali Brigades, Shibl al-Zaidi, revealed, on Sunday, the importance of the Tishreen movement to the political process in Iraq.

Al-Zaidi said in a statement received by Mawazine News that the October youth, their movement and their free voice are an important pressure card on the course of the political process and its outputs, and it could change the political situation and the state structure in general if the movement’s people took advantage of their capabilities and avoided risks and avoided falling into lapses or traps.

He continued, that the observer of the political process notes that the process of generational displacement is moving in a certain direction, and there are entities and parties that are heading towards decline or decline and demise, and there are emerging young entities and independent personalities that have succeeded in good numbers in entering the parliament, and according to opinion polls, the next parliament will be under normal and security conditions.

The electorally good will witness a clear infusion of new blood into the political process, and there is a great opportunity for independents and local energies to win the parliamentary elections expected soon, and the Iraqi street is inclined to change, and has despaired of the struggles of the political class and abhorred its discourse.

Al-Zaidi continued, that this reading was noticed by the Sadrists before other political forces, as they felt that the winds of change had blown and the entire political class had taken off, and all the steps and actions taken by the Sadrists were reactions and change of tactics to keep pace with future political action with the new partners (the October generation).

They pursued two tracks, the first being a desperate attempt to form a national majority government that might enable them to stay with the upcoming parliamentary and political change movement, an opportunity through which they could weaken and exhaust the framework forces, fragment them and end their existence in the future.

Or swallow it, because, in all accounts, the real competitor in the Iraqi street is the one who fills the vacuum of political and electoral decline in the rest of the Shiite forces if they invest their energies and put their affairs in order, so the radiance of Kanon and the like of the new, independent and developing free movements is the future that is relied upon.

Al-Zaidi added in his statement, "Therefore, advocates of change and students of reform had to do two things, first, not to leave the street while preserving identity and science, and not to be drawn into conflicts as a third party with its identity, principles and demands, and to leave conflicts and not enter into the conflict of the axes, whether internally or externally, with pruning The discourse and focus on national issues and giving realistic, studied and implementable solutions,

and the second - which is the most important - preparing to work with all energies for the upcoming elections, rejecting division and ego, and presenting the nation's interest with the support of the most qualified and capable of you or your representative to fill the parliamentary seat.

And if possible, form a group of parties, alliances and entities among you. The more you gather, the better for you, and do not be divided, so your wind will go away. End 29/R77    https://www.mawazin.net/Details.aspx?jimare=207125

And the representative of the Al-Fateh Alliance, Rafiq Al-Salihi, had revealed earlier, the existence of parliamentary moves to reduce the dollar exchange rate, indicating that Iraq’s revenues increase monthly after the rise in oil prices, which necessitates the government to return the dollar exchange rate to its previous era.  LINK

MilitiaMan:  When they reduced the IQD to 1460 from 1190, it hurt the poor. That course of doing so has been run and served it's purpose.

The next stage for the Central Bank is to serve it's purpose in a far more profound way that benefits the poor with purchase power.

By that, it is to adjust the value of the IQD to an internationally acceptable and tradable currency outside it's borders and on international platforms with an IMF Article VIII compliant currency.

That is what has become a popular demand we are reading about.  Reverting back to 1190 is not reverting back to an era that was internationally acceptable nor Article VIII compliant with the IMF.

Having small category denominations doesn't work with program rates. The CBI didn't print new currency issuances in 2018 to throw them in the trash..  They intend to use them..  imo..

The new government is being hammered out as we speak. Painfully slow it is it surely seems, however, there is movement in that regard, see below.

In fact there is an intense focus on the matter. The matter is serious and it is in line with the financial issues that are already in place and ready to go once they announce the direction they are to go politically, I.e., taxes and tariffs at the borders, WTO, BUNA, etc...

It looks as though with all that has been in the news on these matters during their National Day, suggests the future meetings in the coming hours to days are very expectant for results to flow in both directions, political and financial.. Imo ~ This all looks very good for us. ~ MM
