An American Report: The Chest Has A Tremendous Power To Return And His Opponents Think Carefully Before Its Removal

Reports and analyzes    Muqtada al -Sadr    Political chest opponents

2022-09-14 13:14  Shafaq News / An American report revealed today, Wednesday, an Iranian loss of the conflict of Shiite political leaders in Iraq as it lost the clear impact after the departure of Qasim Soleimani and his current alternative, and

while Al -Sadr indicated that Al-Sadr has a "enormous" ability to return to the political scene, he stressed that Ali His opponents think "twice" before reducing or removing it.

"On August 29, Iraqi Shiite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr announced that he would withdraw from politics after months of failed attempts to form a new government.

Thousands of supporters of the national leader, who appeared, came out As a strong opponent of Iran-backed militias in Iraq, to the streets in a state of anger, and violated the concrete barriers around the Green Zone in Baghdad, and stormed the headquarters of the government.

After dozens of people were killed, Al-Sadr appeared on TV and instructed his supporters to return to their homes, diluted - in At least the current time - the political crisis that paralyzed the caretaker government in Iraq for several months."

The report added that

"the Iraqi political system has reached a dead end since last October, when the country has held its fifth parliamentary elections since the United States's invasion in 2003.

Al-Sadr alliance won the largest number of seats, but its bloc and no other party succeeded in forming a government.".

According to the report,

"the conflict has not erupted between sects or competing ethnic groups, but within the largest community in Iraq, the Shiites are divided over their country's relationship with Iran.

The Sadrians argue that Baghdad must distance themselves from all foreign powers, including Iran.

The other factions are still more In connection with the strong Iraq neighbor."

The report indicated that

"although Al-Sadr says it is a retirement from politics, it is likely that he is working to take advantage of this last session of the edge of the abyss and street protests to control his competitors,

Al-Sadr issued similar statements in the past, but he never withdrew from the political field, but

As a heir to one of the most famous Shiite religious families in the world, the chest has significantly demonstrated its skill in converting his religious lineage into solid power, and

his opponents should think twice before they reduce it."

The report also pointed out that

"Al-Sadr is a national and rebellious kind of Shiites in Iraq, while the Grand Ayatollah Ali Al-Sistani, the most respectable cleric in the country, and

other Shiite religious scholars avoid direct political participation, and

thus, they created a vacuum in power within the Shiite society - a vacuum The chest has worked for two decades to fill it."

The analysis stated that

"Al-Sadr, as the son of the Grand Ayatollah Muhammad Sadiq al-Sadr, is a prominent Shiite scientist who challenged the Baathist regime until his assassination in the year 1999, Al-Sadr managed to walk in the footsteps of his father as a political leader of the Sadrist movement," noting that

"Al-Sadr is the Iraqi leader The most skill in moving between politics and religious authority, a fact that can explain its last maneuver.

With the continuation of the political crisis in Iraq for nearly 11 months, Al-Sadr did not legislate in the streets of the streets until he faced a threat that exceeds politics: a threat to his religious legitimacy.

The magazine pointed out that

"one day before al-Sadr announced his retirement from politics, the Grand Ayatollah Kazem Al-Haeri, the Iraqi cleric residing in Iran, who was a spiritual guide for many members of the Sadrist movement, announced his removal due to the deterioration of his health.

But instead of inviting it His followers are to transfer their loyalty to another Iraqi Shiite cleric - a person who may be sympathetic to the chest - Al-Haeri advised them to follow the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

It was an extraordinary step, as most of the great verses of God command their followers to emulate other senior clerics only yet The death of the clergy, while Sadr indicated that Iranian officials and his Iranian-backed Shiite opponents were behind the criticism of Al -Haeri.

The magazine continued,

"The appeal in the back reflects the growing power vacuum within the Shiite community in Iraq,

a vacuum that opened with the diminishing Iranian influence in the country.

For years, the Iranian Supreme Leader, General Qassem Soleimani, sent to Iraq to keep Tehran's Shiite supporters in the class.

But after the states were killed United Soleimani in a drone raid in 2020, Iran lost an important force of force on its allies.    https://shafaq.com/ar/تقارير-وتحليلات/تقرير-مريكي-الصدر-لديه-قوة-ها-لة-للعودة-وعلى-خصومه-التفكير-مليا-قبل-ابعاده

Tishwash:  Billions of dollars are smuggled from Iraq and the region.. Smugglers and the purchase of nationalities and real estate

A report supervised by the "Nerij" network, which specializes in field investigative investigations, stated that thousands of members of the merchant class, the wealthy, and party and government officials, are seeking to obtain citizenship and a second passport that costs them more than 100,000 dollars, and allows them to travel freely, and transfer their money and wealth. to other countries, and those operations are stationed in Iraqi Kurdistan.

The investigation stated that annually tens of thousands of Kurdish citizens, mostly young men, try to reach European countries through human smuggling routes, in which dozens die annually by drowning at sea or suffocating in trucks. Low- and middle-income earners pay an average of $10,000 on that trip, while the wealthy take other routes that cost many times that number.

Smugglers, companies buying nationalities and investors say that billions of dollars have come out of the region in recent years, and that Kurdistan has lost great investment and development opportunities as a result of “corruption, lack of justice and fear of the future.”

Multiple sources in the offices of “second citizenship” insurance companies that have been active in Kurdistan and are using various means to advertise their business, confirm that thousands of citizens of Iraq and the region, especially the newly affluent class, are seeking to obtain a Dominica passport and passports of other countries through financial investment or the purchase of real estate.

The idea of purchasing a passport for Dominica, a small island with a population of 72,000, has gained wide popularity during the past three years among those looking for a safe and easy way to reach the countries of the European Union, especially in the last year after the decline of the migration path through Belarus and its complexity through Turkey to reach the countries of the European Union. The European Union, despite the high cost of securing the passport of the Caribbean countries, which amounts to a minimum of 110 thousand dollars.

These companies promote the ease of obtaining citizenship through advertisements on social networking sites “Facebook and Instagram” in addition to the tourist groups that have turned into an active market for the promotion of these advertisements.

As for the other option, it is through real estate investment, where the applicant must invest in a real estate project approved by the government in Dominica with a value of no less than 200 thousand US dollars. The investor must retain ownership of the property for at least 3 years from the date of obtaining citizenship, and the investor can resell the property under the Dominica citizenship by investment program after 5 years, without withdrawing his citizenship or losing any of its privileges.

These main advantages have encouraged many businessmen, capitalists and new politicians, whose families did not live in Europe, to apply for the citizenship of that country, to enjoy travel easily, and to ensure exit from Iraq and residence in a stable country when the situation is turbulent or there is a collapse in its system Politicians in crisis.

Numerous sources contacted confirm that applications for Dominica citizenship escalated in Kurdistan, starting in 2019, and reached a peak in 2021, until the number of those who obtained it and whose files were close to completion became more than 15,000 people. The last number was mentioned by a well-informed security source to Al-Alam Al-Jadid, who indicated that thousands of others are preparing their papers to obtain a second citizenship.

A member of the Kurdistan Regional Parliament - who asked not to be named for private reasons - says that more than 1,500 people in the latter category now hold a Dominica passport, including about 600 officials working in government and party security departments in Kurdistan.

The Sulaymaniyah Governorate leads the region in the number of people who have obtained a Dominica passport and are seeking to obtain it. The number of applicants is at least four people per month at one company, out of a total of seven local private companies that promote these transactions. Some companies receive larger applications, and requests multiply during the crisis period in Kurdistan.

Erbil comes in second place in the number of people holding a passport, but it tops the provinces of Kurdistan with the number of companies, numbering ten, one of which has the largest number of transactions, according to one of the workers in this field. Erbil is followed by Dohuk governorate in the second place in the number of companies (9 companies), and third at the regional level in the number of holders and applicants for citizenship.

Officials in Company (A, E) are accused of falsifying documents and committing fraud against citizens who submitted their transactions with the company to obtain passport and citizenship, but their “dream” was not realized or was disrupted due to violations in the processing of their papers, the accuracy of their details and their validity. This happened as a result of submitting forged documents from some applicants, or merging them with other families in exchange for money.

An informed source says that an official in the company (DS) "earned millions of dollars through manipulation of papers," noting that many complaints of fraud and forgery of documents were filed against him, and this is what made him wanted by the security authorities, without knowing his whereabouts after his disappearance months ago. And turn off his phones.

Karzan Kamal (48 years old) does not stop visiting the headquarters of (A,E) company in the hope of obtaining heart-warming news about (D.S), who promised him to obtain a Dominica passport for him and his family of four people (his wife and two sons) in exchange for ( $150,000) he paid last January as a down payment.

According to a source close to the company, dozens of people seeking to obtain a Dominican passport, such as Karzan, with the aim of easy immigration, have fallen victim to the fraud of the main suspect, D.S., whose dreams ended in severe shocks, especially since many of them sold their homes, shops and other properties in order to Securing the required amount, and lost their jobs, and they live today in rented houses.

The source says that (D.S.) was required to obtain more than 100,000 US dollars as a down payment to make any transaction. He asked ordinary citizens and single youth to promote their transactions, and fled after revealing the forgery of documents of citizens who arrived in Europe and others who fell into an ambush of fraud on them. Their requests have not yet been answered, after the Dominica government decided to suspend the procedures for applicants from Kurdistan to obtain its citizenship through investment.

The first step of the procedures for obtaining a Dominica passport begins with an agreement with one of the operating companies to submit identification documents (civil status identity or unified card, green card, ration card, Iraqi nationality) of the head of the family and his family members, as well as the case with the bachelor, but the latter is the higher amount of a married person.

Investors and traders in the Kurdistan region assert that the Iraqi citizens' search for countries that grant them residency and citizenship has caused billions of dollars to leave the country over the past two decades, which represents a loss of great economic opportunities.

The official spokesman for the Kurdistan Investors Union, Yassin Mahmoud Rashid, says that the number of Kurdish citizens who have applied for citizenship in countries such as Dominica, Turkey, Spain, Greece and others is approaching 100,000, with exorbitant amounts varying between (110-400) thousand US dollars  link

The Appearance Of Muhammad Salih To / Nina /: The Rise In Foreign Exchange Reserves.. Real Monetary Stability For The Country

Thursday 15 September 2022 16:18 | Economic Number of readings: 155  Baghdad / NINA / - The financial expert, advisor to the Prime Minister, Mazhar Muhammad Salih, confirmed: The rise in foreign exchange reserves is a real monetary stability for the country.

He told the National Iraqi News Agency ( NINA ) that: All indicators confirm today that the country's foreign exchange reserves, which amounted to about $85 billion, including gold, are at a high level of efficiency and represent real monetary stability for the country.

Saleh added: These reserves are managed according to the internationally approved standard investment guides and in various major existing currencies, and are invested in the best international financial instruments with high credit ratings, low risks, and are considered one of the actions of the country's foreign monetary policy.

The Central Bank had announced a rise in foreign reserves to more than (85) billion US dollars.

And the bank indicated in a statement that its foreign reserves amounted to more than (85) billion US dollars, which is the highest level achieved by the Central Bank since 2003.

He continued that gold reserves also exceeded (130.4) tons, worth (7) billion dollars, bringing Iraq to 30th place globally and 4th in the Arab world.   https://ninanews.com/Website/News/Details?Key=1000425

Oil Pushes Iraq's Cash Reserves To A Historic High

Reports   Economy News-Baghdad   Iraq's foreign currency reserves witnessed a big jump to more than 85 billion dollars, amid optimism that the rise will continue until the end of this year reaches 100 billion dollars .

According to observers, the rise of the cash reserve is due to several factors, most notably the rise in oil prices in global markets, which reflected positively on the country's financial revenues, in addition to decreasing the value of the Iraqi dinar, which reduced the value of the government's monthly salaries, but they warned of the negative effects of the turmoil. Political influence on the country's revenues if it continues for long periods .

The Central Bank of Iraq had recently announced that its foreign currency reserves had risen to more than $85 billion .

"The country's reserves have reached the highest level achieved by the central bank since 2003," a central bank statement said, referring to the year the United States occupied the country. The statement added that "gold reserves exceeded 130.4 tons, worth $7 billion, bringing Iraq to the thirtieth place globally and fourth in the Arab world ."

Commenting on this, the former advisor to the Central Bank of Iraq, Ali Al-Tamimi, said in a telephone conversation with Al-Araby Al-Jadeed that Mustafa Al-Kazemi’s government implemented a package of major reforms in conjunction with the rise in global oil prices, as Iraq’s monthly income reached nearly 11 billion dollars from selling Crude oil .

Al-Tamimi added that the decrease in the value of the Iraqi dinar against the dollar, which was taken by the Al-Kazemi government, contributed to a clear reduction in the revenues that the state needs to secure salaries to 4 billion dollars or less, which previously amounted to approximately 6 billion dollars per month (before January 2021) . .

He added that the government's resort to imposing dealing in local currency with Iraqi and foreign private sector companies operating in the country, and the imposition of strong filters on the issue of transferring money in hard currency, contributed to raising Iraq's capabilities to keep its hard currency more than before .

He added, "However, it is still possible to control more hard currency and prevent its leakage abroad, as the hard currency auction organized by the Central Bank daily presents an average of $180 million and up to $200 million, as part of the policy of maintaining the dinar exchange rate at the threshold of 1450." dinar per dollar, this method can be considered useless and another policy for setting the exchange rate must be considered .”

Al-Tamimi concluded that the country is expected, in the event of continuing with the current oil prices, that its reserves will rise to about 100 billion dollars, which is a sufficient number to think about establishing a sovereign fund, as in many countries, that will be a guarantor in the suffocating financial crises, especially since Iraq is a rentier state that depends on its economy oil by more than 96 percent .

The Iraqi Finance Minister, who resigned last month, Ali Abdul Amir Allawi, had expected the country's hard currency reserves to rise to more than $90 billion this year, due to the recovery in oil prices .

Iraq recorded a sharp decline in foreign currency reserves in December 2020, to reach 48 billion dollars, but it rose again to reach the end of the year 2021 about 64 billion dollars, according to central bank data .

The country was affected economically by the political crisis that has continued for 11 months in a row, as the formation of the government was prevented from approving the financial budget for the year 2022, amid warnings that the country would enter the new year without a draft budget .

The current government headed by Mustafa Al-Kazemi relies on the system of advances in the payment of employee salaries and operational budgets related to services .

Earlier, the Iraq Future Foundation, which is concerned with economic affairs, said that there are "fears that the general budget for the year 2023 will not be approved . "

The head of the foundation, Manar al-Obeidi, told reporters that "there is a real fear that the general budget for the year 2023 will not be approved, due to the current political crisis. There is no budget without forming a government ."

Al-Obaidi indicated that "the food security law ends with the end of the current fiscal year, and next year it will depend on the financial management law," noting that "there is a fear that there will be no budget during 2023. "

Last month, Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi warned that the state would not be able to spend the money at the end of this year, which will lead to the suspension of people's interests due to the political crisis and the disruption of Parliament's work, which led to the absence of a financial budget for the current and next years .

Al-Halbousi said in his speech in Baghdad: "I call on the political forces to sit at a dialogue table that will reach solutions to the political crisis," reiterating his "support for the national dialogue initiative ."

He added that "the country's situation cannot continue in this state, and what we have reached today represents a regression from what we were on," noting that "the end of this year the government cannot spend any money without a budget ."

He added that "a political group disrupts state institutions through peaceful demonstrations, explaining that the constitution does not allow for state institutions to be disrupted ."

Al-Masoudi told Al-Masala, we acknowledge the existence of a great overlap between politics and religion, but many politicians exploit religion, as much as they need it, no more and no less.

The pilgrims continue to walk towards the city of Karbala day and night to commemorate the forty days of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, and the number of visitors from outside Iraq has exceeded three million foreign visitors.

Al-Masoudi stated that the leader of the Sadrist movement is working to correct such deviations in a way that guarantees the survival of the nation, pointing out that religion for many politicians is a movie, while it should be a behavior that can be a beacon for action and example.

Al-Masoudi reveals a large project prepared in advance, which aims to transform the fortieth visit of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him), from a purely religious occasion of condolence to the face of God Almighty, to an occasion for chaos, strife, splitting the ranks, and diverting attention from the bloody events of (Zero). Magic on the wizard. As he put it.

And he went on: Generosity of hospitality, security and love have replaced hatred, neglect and chaos, and beyond that, after dozens of banners, pictures and chants were raised, for inappropriate occasions.

He continued: “This occasion was unique to raising the banners of Al-Hussein (peace be upon him), and nothing else, no pictures or slogans, noting that the leader of the Sadrist movement, in his tweets, established the visit’s ceremonies, that it be a purely spiritual visit, there is no place for politics, corruption and the corrupt have a place in it... And the next will be within these criteria.   https://almasalah.com/archives/17710

Political Parties Agree On A Draft Work Program For Parliament And The Next Government

Posted On2022-09-15 By Sotaliraq   Representatives of political parties agreed on a draft work program for Parliament and the next government, which they reached after a series of meetings, and the start of a real dialogue with the Sadrist movement in the coming days.

The last meeting of these parties was held on the night of September 12, 2022, with the participation of Ahmed Al-Asadi from the Coordination Framework, Muhammad Tamim from the Sovereignty Alliance, Muthanna Al-Samarrai from the Azm Alliance, two Rikani banks from the Kurdistan Democratic Party and Khaled Shwani from the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan.

A member of the victory coalition affiliated with the coordination framework, Aqil Al-Rudaini, said on Tuesday (September 13, 2022), that the representatives of the political parties agreed during the meeting to start a real dialogue with the Sadrist movement in the coming days, with the aim of participating in the next government, stressing that the coordination framework refuses to marginalize any party.

Al-Rudaini believed that the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Sunni Sovereignty Alliance have a prerequisite, which is to hold early elections at the beginning of 2023, after the formation of the new government, a condition that is consistent with the initiative of the victory coalition, noting that the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Alliance of Sovereignty agree with his coalition regarding amending the electoral law and the Electoral Commission before holding early elections.

According to information obtained by Rudaw Media Network, the meeting held last night was a continuation of meetings held by the political parties, which completed part of their work regarding the draft, and are awaiting the outcome of the dialogue with the Sadrist movement, to agree on and sign it.

In this context, Rudaw Media Network correspondent Helkot Aziz said that the committee to prepare a draft work program for Parliament and the next government meets twice a day, noting that there are projects that need to be approved by Parliament, such as the oil and gas bill and the budget bill, Most of the political forces, especially the Kurdish ones, have observations about them.

The Reasons For The Delay In Forming The Iraqi Government

The coordination framework’s adherence to the nomination of Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani for the position of prime minister constitutes an obstacle to the efforts to form a government, but a member of the victory coalition, Aqil Al-Rudaini, indicated the possibility of dialogue and agreement on another person to take over the position of prime minister instead of Al-Sudani.

The statement issued by the meeting of President Masoud Barzani, Speaker of Parliament Muhammad al-Halbousi, and head of the Sovereignty Alliance Khamis al-Khanjar, on (September 11, 2022), stressed the importance of holding early elections, after preparing the legal requirements and their requirements in accordance with the constitutional mechanisms, preceded by the formation of a government with full authority. It enjoys the confidence and reassurance of all, with an agreed government program, emphasizing the need for the House of Representatives to continue its work until the election date.

The position of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the majority of Sunnis in Iraq can be read as a response to the request of the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, for their withdrawal from Parliament.

Al-Sadr's Minister, Saleh al-Iraqi, had implicitly called, in a tweet on Thursday (September 8, 2022), the Kurds and Sunnis to withdraw from Parliament, saying, "Once they withdraw, Parliament will lose its legitimacy and will be dissolved directly."

In addition to the differences between the Iraqi parties, the Kurdish parties, including the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, still have not reached a joint candidate for the post of President of the Republic, as the Kurdistan Democratic Party adheres to its candidate, Reber Ahmed, while the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan adheres to its candidate, Barham Salih.

Kurdistan Democratic Party spokesman, Mahmoud Muhammad, stressed in a press conference on Monday (September 12, 2022), the need for the parties participating in the political process to reach a “realistic agreement” on the next steps.

Regarding the possibility of reaching an agreement between the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan and the Kurdistan Democratic Party on a joint candidate, the spokesman said, that the dialogues are continuing and so far, “we do not have a joint candidate.”

Earlier, a member of the leadership of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Rabha Hamad, told Rudaw Media Network that the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan are close to agreeing on a candidate for the post of President of the Republic.

Major General Jamal Al-Halbousi Told Rudaw: Iran And]Maad Fayyad

Posted On2022-09-15 By Sotaliraq   , an expert on borders and international waters, Major General Jamal al-Halbousi, confirmed that "the file of Iraqi borders and waters infiltrated in Iraq is very important and equal, if not more important, than what is happening on the internal political scene."

He stressed that "what is happening in the Iraqi political arena does not reach the importance of 10% of this file, and I mean the file of borders and water and the violations and penetrations that cause drought and desertification, and the importance of this file also lies in economic security, which is more important than political security that can be resolved." Replacing parties and governments through elections.

Al-Halbousi said during his hosting on the Arab Twitter platform, Rudaw, to discuss the topic, “Iraq’s borders and waters are breached or respected?” That all Iraqi borders are breached by Iran, Turkey and Kuwait, and intact with Saudi Arabia and Jordan, and that our waters are stolen by upstream countries.”

He blamed the Iraqi governments for not returning to the agreements signed between Iraq and neighboring

Iran has violated all agreements

. Regarding Iran’s violations of the borders, Al-Halbousi explained: “After all the agreements concluded by Iraq with Iran, the most recent of which was the Algiers Agreement in 1975, which defined 5 agreements and three protocols, including water and borders, was dropped by the Iranian artillery bombardment of Iraqi lands, because any violation of agreements and protocols is considered A violation of the borders, and Iran is bombing Iraqi lands in the Kurdistan Region, and this is a clear violation of all agreements.”

The expert on borders and international waters stressed that “Iraq shares with Iran 42 rivers and watercourses indicated by the International Borders and Good Neighborliness Agreement called the Algiers Agreement of 1975, and divided according to different categories according to their sizes, lengths, and water flow quantities, with classifications (A - B - C) and defined by a complete and independent protocol.

ran has continued to reduce and cut off Iraq’s quotas from 1951 until now, diverting the courses of all these rivers into the Iranian interior, bypassing international rights and norms.

Turkish Violations

With regard to the Turkish violations of the borders and on the Iraqi waters, Al-Halbousi said: “The Turkish army’s violation of the borders and its entry into Iraqi territory in the Kurdistan Region is a flagrant violation of the agreements.”

He pointed out that "Iraq has agreements, protocols, minutes of meetings and good-neighborly relations with neighboring countries, foremost of which is Turkey, and therefore these countries must respect their signatures on the agreements. He cautioned that: "All of Iraq's borders are breached, except for our borders with Jordan and Saudi Arabia, which we can say are peaceful or calm."

He added: "Turkey has crossed the Iraqi borders to the Ararat region since 1921, and we have many border problems with it, and there are good-neighborly treaties with Turkey, the most important of which is the 1946 agreement during the era of Prime Minister Nuri al-Said, which relates to borders and the issue of water."

Al-Halbousi blamed “the Iraqi governments, as they are responsible for these violations, and they must return to the agreements concluded since 1923, the Lausanne Agreement and before it Sèvres, and the agreements signed later, all of which guarantee Iraq’s land and water rights, all of which were violated by Turkey.”

He added: “As a soldier, I was an operations manager and I follow all the military movements that concern my country. I say that Turkey is not allowed to breach the borders under the pretext of pursuing the Turkish Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

Our borders with Kuwait are not fair, and about the Security Council’s interference in demarcating the borders between Iraq and Kuwait, Al-Halbousi said: “Security Council Resolution No. 833 of 1993 is the most severe executive decision against Iraq that has been taken in history.”

He pointed out that: “Even in the two world wars and other wars, the Security Council did not interfere in the issue of borders, and this is a dangerous precedent, and our borders with Kuwait, when they were drawn, did not take place in the presence of the Iraqi side, and there was injustice in land and sea areas. The military shows that there is a difference of 5 to 7 kilometers.”

He added: “Although the Security Council resolution when it was taken, Iraq was under Chapter VII and stripped of its sovereignty and has just emerged from the war, there are many countries, including Germany, that have returned the lands that were deducted from them after the Second World War.

Noting that "Iraq fulfilled all its obligations with Kuwait and the border file remained, and until we extinguished the fire of sedition between peoples and not between governments, given that governments change and go and peoples remain, so the Iraqi and Kuwaiti peoples should think about this issue with reason, and the issue of silence must be taken in 1973 Which the Arab army entered under the guidance of the Arab League and determined the border line, and returning to this line is the best solution now.”

Al-Halbousi pointed out that “there is an agreement that took place in 2008, which is a more humiliating agreement than others, the navigation agreement, which was signed by the Ministry of Transport, which neglected the joint administration and gave Kuwait the right to monopolize the Khor Abdullah, and there must be joint action between Iraq and Kuwait in this matter from the military aspect.” and navigation, establishing a fishing company, and the movement of fishermen in the two countries so that there is a fair work for both parties.”

Iran and Turkey confiscated our waters. Jamal al-Halbousi, an expert on borders and international waters, explained that: “The responsibility for water is shared, but Turkey and Iran have greatly exceeded Iraq’s water quotas and violated all international agreements on this issue, and Iraq has spared no effort to demand its water shares with neighboring countries:

Turkey and Iran. And Syria, dozens of joint agreements and protocols on water were concluded, and a year passed without negotiations and meetings at different levels, technically, diplomatically and politically.

However, these countries have for decades dominated their interests and future needs over the humanitarian situation, neighborhood rights and international water agreements such as the United Nations Agreement on Rivers and Sewers The non-navigational system signed in Geneva in 1997, which became binding on all riparian states.

He stressed that “there is no agreement that allows the construction of dams or the change of river courses. Rather, there are provisions in the Agreement on Non-Navigational Rivers and Streams that specify several axes, including the equitable sharing of rivers from the source to the estuary, and do not allow the conduct of any irrigation or agricultural projects in the upstream countries ( Turkey-Iran) without consulting with the downstream countries (Iraq), establishing joint projects on the rivers to share the benefit and harm, preventing the arbitrary use of water and reducing or cutting rivers from the downstream countries, and the upstream countries bear any harm to the citizens of the downstream country.

He pointed out that "we have with Turkey eight rivers, two main ones, the Tigris and the Euphrates, and the proportions of Iraq's share of them have been reduced to less than 40%, and it has also reduced the quantities of the rest of the rivers after rain-harvesting dams and cut-off dams were established to reduce Iraq's shares of them."  LINK

Harambe: Wild Currency Ride Shows Signs of Settling Down in Zimbabwe | Bloomberg

(9/15/22)

Zimbabwe’s volatile currency is showing signs of stabilising, with the gap between the official and parallel-market exchange rates narrowing and raising hopes runaway inflation may cool.

“We have basically converged with an acceptable premium between the alternative and interbank rates,” Persistence Gwanyanya, a Harare-based economist and a member of the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe’s monetary policy committee, said. “The markets are at equilibrium.”

The government has unveiled a raft of measures since May — including a new interbank rate, gold coins, legalising the use of the US dollar and a brief ban on bank lending — to try halt a decline in the value of the local unit that helped spur inflation to 285% in August.

While the Zimbabwe dollar is the world’s worst-performing currency this year — slumping more than 80% against the greenback — the even-larger collapse of its value on the street has reversed.

The latest interbank rate is $604 per dollar, with businesses allowed to add a 10% mark-up in pricing goods and services. That brings it in line with the parallel market spread of between Z$650 and Z$700 per greenback.

With the currency markets stabilising, the central bank now expects businesses to begin cutting prices, Gwanyanya said.

“It is inescapable,” he said. “The next wave is that of price reductions and that will cement the stability.”

Still, the central bank won’t rush to cut its key interest rate, currently the world’s highest at 200%.

“An earlier softening may result in reversal of gains,” according to Gwanyanya.

It’s also unclear whether some of the measures imposed to bring the exchange rates in line are sustainable, given they will restrict economic activity and elections are due next year, according to Lloyd Mlotshwa, head of research at IH Securities, a Harare-based brokerage firm.

“The convergence has been achieved by punitively constricting local-currency liquidity, that is by stopping government contract payments, increasing interest rates to 200% and taxes on capital markets,” he said.

Economist Eddie Cross said once the government begins paying its suppliers and contractors, the parallel market rate will escalate.

“The current shortfall of domestic supplies of local currency has been due to the measures adopted by the government where the government has halted payment to suppliers of services and goods. The government has also tightened up money supply through the reserve bank.

“This has resulted in the shortage of local currency and the electronic currency. This has had an immediate effect on slowing down speculation in the Zimbabwe dollar against the US dollar (US$) and as a result the local currency has strengthened on the parallel market. “However this is not going to be long lived, the government has to return to meeting its obligation of paying contractors and suppliers, and it is in the process of doing that. Once these payments resume we are going to see a resumption of activity on the parallel market for the local currency.

“The only serious solution to this problem is to liberalise the market for the local currency. This will, in fact, provide a long term solution to the problems we are confronting. Anything else, we are just dealing with the symptoms and not the fundamentals.”

Tishwash:  Government advisor: 25 trillion dinars surplus with the Finance

Haitham al-Jubouri, technical advisor to the Prime Minister, said that the increase in the Iraqi reserve was not reflected on the citizen because it needs a budget in order to convert these amounts into projects and services, while he suggested that the financial surplus would reach 25 trillion dinars at the end of this year.

Al-Jubouri said that "the growth in the Iraqi economy is the result of high oil prices," noting that "the Federal Court's decision regarding the inability of the caretaker government to send projects and laws delayed sending the budget to Parliament."

He pointed out that "in 2021, the value of non-oil revenues amounted to 10 trillion Iraqi dinars," while he predicted that customs revenues would reach "four times the current."

He added, "The financial surplus may reach 25 trillion dinars by the end of this year," noting that "

Regarding those covered by social care, Al-Jubouri said, "9 million people are covered by social care, that is, up to one million and 800 thousand families."

On inflation, he stressed that "the change in the exchange rate increased the inflation rate, as the inflation rate doubled 11 times."   link

Tishwash:  Oil pushes Iraq's cash reserves to a historic high

Iraq 's foreign currency reserves witnessed a big jump to more than 85 billion dollars, amid optimism that the rise will continue until the end of this year reaches 100 billion dollars.

Political influence on the country's revenues if it continues for long periods.

The Central Bank of Iraq had recently announced that its foreign currency reserves had risen to more than $85 billion.

"The country's reserves have reached the highest level achieved by the central bank since 2003," a central bank statement said, referring to the year the United States occupied the country. The statement added that "gold reserves exceeded 130.4 tons, with a value of 7 billion dollars, bringing Iraq to the thirtieth place globally and fourth in the Arab world."

Commenting on this, the former advisor to the Central Bank of Iraq, Ali Al-Tamimi, said in a telephone conversation with Al-Araby Al-Jadeed that Mustafa Al-Kazemi’s government implemented a package of major reforms in conjunction with the rise in global oil prices, as Iraq’s monthly income reached nearly 11 billion dollars from selling Crude Oil.

Al-Tamimi added that the reduction in the value of the Iraqi dinar against the dollar, which was taken by the Al-Kazemi government, contributed to a clear reduction in the revenues that the state needs to secure salaries to 4 billion dollars or less, which previously amounted to approximately 6 billion dollars per month (before January 2021). .

He added that the government's resort to imposing dealing in local currency with Iraqi and foreign private sector companies operating in the country, and the imposition of strong filters on the issue of transferring money in hard currency, contributed to raising Iraq's ability to keep its hard currency more than before.

He added, "However, it is still possible to control more hard currency and prevent its leakage abroad, as the hard currency auction organized by the Central Bank daily presents an average of $180 million and up to $200 million, as part of the policy of maintaining the dinar exchange rate at the threshold of 1450." dinar per dollar, and this method can be considered ineffective and another policy to determine the exchange rate must be considered.

Al-Tamimi concluded that the country is expected, in the event of continuing with the current oil prices, that its reserves will rise to about 100 billion dollars, which is a sufficient number to think about establishing a sovereign fund, as in many countries, that will be a guarantor in the suffocating financial crises, especially since Iraq is a rentier state that depends on its economy oil by more than 96 percent.

The Iraqi Finance Minister, who resigned last month, Ali Abdul Amir Allawi, had expected the country's hard currency reserves to rise to more than 90 billion dollars this year, due to the recovery in oil prices

Iraq recorded a sharp decline in foreign currency reserves in December 2020, to reach 48 billion dollars, but it rose again to reach the end of the year 2021 about 64 billion dollars, according to central bank data.

The country was affected economically by the political crisis that has continued for 11 months in a row, as the formation of the government was prevented from approving the financial budget for the year 2022, amid warnings that the country would enter the new year without a draft budget.

The current government, headed by Mustafa Al-Kazemi, relies on the system of advances in the payment of employee salaries and operational budgets related to services.

Earlier, the Iraq Future Foundation, which is concerned with economic affairs, said that there are "fears that the general budget for the year 2023 will not be approved."

The head of the foundation, Manar Al-Obaidi, told reporters that "there is a real fear that the general budget for the year 2023 will not be approved, due to the current political crisis. There is no budget without forming the government.

Al-Obaidi indicated that "the food security law ends with the end of the current fiscal year, and next year it will depend on the financial management law," noting that "there is a fear that there will be no budget during the year 2023."

Last month, Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi warned that the state would not be able to spend the money at the end of this year, which would lead to the suspension of people's interests due to the political crisis and the disruption of Parliament's work, which led to the absence of a financial budget for the current and next years.

Al-Halbousi said in a speech in Baghdad: "I call on the political forces to sit at a dialogue table that will find solutions to the political crisis," reiterating his "support for the national dialogue initiative."

He added, "The country's situation cannot continue in this state, and what we have reached today represents a regression from what we were on," noting that "the end of this year the government cannot spend any money without a budget."

He continued, "A political team disrupts state institutions through peaceful demonstrations, explaining that the constitution does not allow for state institutions to be disrupted.   link

In the past, which demonstrators loyal to the Sadrist movement managed to bring down in previous demonstrations.

The measures are not limited to fortifying the Green Zone only, as some of the capital’s bridges linking its two sides (Karkh and Rusafa) are witnessing cuts, while activists circulated videos showing the security forces beginning to build iron gates on the Al-Jumhuriya and Al-Sinak bridges, in addition to the suspension bridge.

As a result of popular discontent on social networking sites, the Baghdad Operations Command made it clear that cutting the Jumhuriya Bridge was for maintenance purposes, while it did not comment on the photos circulated by activists about the construction of iron gates on the bridge.

The fortifications that the security forces are working on in Baghdad raise many questions about their causes and whether the security services are anticipating something or fearing a security emergency, while the Iraqi Ministry of Interior refused to comment or disclose any information after Al-Jazeera Net correspondent attempts to inquire about what is happening.

Days after the start of erecting the iron gates on the Al-Jumhuriya and Al-Sinak bridges, Iraqi media reported this morning, Wednesday, that Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi ordered the lifting of the iron gates and only the traditional security measures, while no government statement was issued to this either from the Security Media Cell or from the Operations Command. Baghdad.

Fortifying the Green Zone and closing bridges... What does the Iraqi government fear? 003Al-Sharifi: The capital is witnessing an unprecedented mass resentment and social division (communication sites)

What Is The Government Afraid Of?

The political blockage still prevails in Iraq, more than 11 months after the legislative elections that did not lead to the formation of a new government, which led to a lot of complexity in the political scene that led to sit-ins and mass demonstrations for supporters of the Sadrist movement in the Green Zone after the resignation of its deputies in June / Last June, these demonstrations turned into armed clashes on August 29 inside the Green Zone that lasted more than 24 hours.

The government’s fear, according to observers, comes as a result of the insistence of the coordination framework (which includes Shiite forces with the exception of the Sadrist movement) to form a government, which is rejected by the Sadrist movement, which has vowed that any new government will not be formed without achieving the reforms it demands, which may indicate new popular demonstrations. Accompanied by calls from the October 2019 protesters to return to the demonstrations again.

Commenting on the foregoing, Ahmed Al-Sharifi, a security researcher and strategist, believes that the upcoming political events have led to the fortification of the Green Zone, as the traditional deterrence mechanisms, which include riot control forces and security barriers, cannot stand in the way of any mass movement that the coming days may witness.

Al-Sharifi, who is in Baghdad, confirms that the capital is witnessing an unprecedented mass resentment and social division in overlapping areas between the parties of the political forces that own weapons, pointing out that if the security situation deteriorates, this will drag the country into ominous consequences, with the inability of the forces The security forces decided to stop them, based on the fact that there are many loyalties within the security system, which may lead to the division of these forces according to loyalties, as he put it.

Speaking to Al-Jazeera Net, Al-Sharifi believes that the iron gates and the Green Zone fortifications constitute obstacles, but they will not stop the expected mass advance, pointing out that these measures have raised the level of anxiety among Iraqis as a result of expectations of an escalation in the coming days, specifically after the end of the visit of the fortieth visit ceremonies of the Shiites in September 20th.

Fortifying the Green Zone and closing bridges... What does the Iraqi government fear? 7-8Abu Ragheef warned that there is a state of alert afflicting all political blocs, as if something would happen in the coming days (Al Jazeera Net)

Security Escalation

According to Al-Sharifi, the government’s initiation of such measures came as a result of its anticipation of the possibility of escalation, with its prior knowledge that traditional deterrence measures will not be sufficient, which may mean that mass movements will be harsh with the government’s inability to stop them and what may threaten civil peace.

Al-Sharifi continues that what raises suspicion is that the fortifications included the Green Zone, which includes departments and ministries only, without paying attention to the possibility that a settling of scores will occur between the parties to the political process in other areas of Baghdad, especially with all the political parties threatening to use force.

On the other hand, security and military researcher Fadel Abu Ragheef comments on the fortifications of the Green Zone, saying, that there is a state of alert ravaging all political blocs as if something will happen in the coming days, and that this extrapolation is not by the political forces alone, but even by the residents of Baghdad who They resorted to stockpiling foodstuffs for fear of an event similar to the events at the end of last month.

Speaking to Al-Jazeera Net, Abu Ragheef, who is close to the country's decision-making circles, continues that the same political blocs believe that there is an escalation that will occur after the "Forty Visit" without having any clear information, which may mean that everyone is moving towards the unknown, as he put it. .

To remedy this, according to Abu Ragheef, he stresses that the country needs what he described as “rationalizing” the political and media discourse, especially since there are many instigators, and therefore these fortifications are consistent with the state of apprehension and a preventive state, especially as it is one of the obstacles that will delay the outbreak of any situation Violence similar to what happened two weeks ago in Baghdad, he said.

Regarding the link between the security file and its political counterpart, Abu Ragheef concludes by noting that the security tension is linked to the political, and if the latter continues, there is a possibility of security frictions, believing that the political situation will continue to fluctuate between the parties to the political process, but in a way that is not bloody, according to his opinion.

Fortifying the Green Zone and closing bridges... What does the Iraqi government fear?

Iraqi army removes concrete barriers after the events in the Green Zone at the end of last month

Multiple scenarios

The escalation of political differences indicates many scenarios, according to political researcher Ghanem Al-Abed, who believes that the Iraqi situation has become complicated, and that there is no hope on the horizon to get out of the current crisis, and that the fortieth visit of the Shiites, which will end on September 20, is what worked on Postponing the worsening of the security and political situation.

As for the expected scenarios, Al-Abed comments, “All scenarios will be open, especially since the recent political moves of the coordination framework and his insistence on forming a government led by Muhammad Shia al-Sudani, rejected by the Sadrist movement, will lead the latter to resort to the street again, and will prevent the formation of this government in light of the failure of any of the parties to concede.” , Which could lead to an armed clash like the one that happened at the end of last month.

Fortifying the Green Zone and closing bridges... What does the Iraqi government fear? 11-16Al-Abed: There are calls from the October movement to demonstrate, which may add more complexity to the Iraqi scene (Al-Jazeera Net)

international intervention

Al-Abed continues, in his speech to Al-Jazeera Net, that this expected escalation is accompanied by the third anniversary of the start of the October 2019 demonstrations, as there are calls to demonstrate again, which may add more complexity, which will pave the way for international intervention in the country, as he put it.

For his part, political analyst Ghaleb al-Damamy describes the Iraqi scene as thorny and difficult to predict, especially since the two sides of the dispute represented by the coordination framework and the Sadrist movement are moving in opposite directions without any possibility of agreement, with each party working to exclude the other.

Al-Dami, in his speech to Al-Jazeera Net, does not rule out the launch of new popular demonstrations in Baghdad and other governorates with the participation of the Tishreen movement protesters who object to the performance of political parties, which will lead to a new wave of clash, commenting, "The clash will only happen in one case, which is the implementation of the vision of the Alliance of Sovereignty and the Kurdistan Democratic Party calling." To replace the coordinating framework filter with an acceptable one from the Sadrist movement.

Al-Daami believes that international positions may be among the proposed scenarios, which may discourage the framework from its insistence and demand it to reach an understanding with the Sadrist movement, based on the possibility of an international wave not accepting any government formed by the framework away from the alliances of the Sadrist movement, sovereignty and the Kurdistan Democratic Party, according to him.

Queen Elizabeth’s estimated $500 million is part of a bigger $28 billion empire.

This is how her wealth is going to be passed down

Dina Al-Shibeeb  Sep. 09, 2022

Queen Elizabeth II, who died on Sept. 8, was the head of state of 14 Commonwealth realms, including Canada. Passing at the age of 96, Elizabeth left a long legacy after becoming the U.K.'s longest-serving monarch — reigning for 70 years. Not only was she the Queen of England, she was a wealthy woman in her own right. With British monarchs not required to reveal their assets, different media outlets have pitched in with their estimates.

The Queen’s personal wealth totals more than US$500 million in assets she accumulated over her decades on the throne, according to Forbes.

British media outlet, the Sun, estimates her net worth to be $3 billion, and the Sunday Times Rich List 2022 said the Queen’s net worth was around $420 million.

The Royal Family have accumulated wealth through centuries of rule and here's a look at what will happen to that wealth as the Queen is laid to rest and her son Charles assumes the throne.

How did the Queen accumulate wealth?

Elizabeth II inherited about $81 million from her mother, Queen Elizabeth, when the monarch died in 2002. The inheritance included assets like paintings, a valuable Faberge egg collection, china, jewelry and even horses.

Overall, the Queen didn’t receive a traditional annual salary. Like other Royal Family members she received income through a taxpayer fund called the Sovereign Grant, which amounted to more than 86 million pounds (almost $100 million) in 2021 and 2022.

The Sovereign Grant is geared to cover official travel, property maintenance plus the operating costs of the Queen’s London residence — Buckingham Palace.

The Sovereign Grant finds its roots in an agreement struck by King George III to surrender his income from Parliament in order to receive a fixed annual payment for himself and future generations of the royal family.

Following her death, King Charles is going to receive the yearly Sovereign Grant from the U.K. Treasury. He will be getting 15% of the profits from the Crown Estate.

The Queen’s wealth is in fact part of a larger empire worth approximately $28 billion, according to Forbes.

The Framework Receives Messages From The Current Partners: There Is No Government Without The Approval Of Al-Sadr

Posted On2022-09-14 By Sotaliraq    Baghdad / Tamim Al-Hassan   Soon, the optimism of the coordination framework that emerged after the announcement of the remainder of the "triple alliance" to agree to form a new government was retracted due to messages that there is no government without the approval of Muqtada al-Sadr, the leader of the Sadrist movement.

So far, al-Sadr has not responded to the new position of his allies (the Sovereignty Bloc and the Kurdistan Democratic Party) not to object to the continuation of Parliament until new elections are held in light of the continuation of the "truce" imposed by the atmosphere of Imam Hussein's visit.

On the other hand, the debate rages within the coordination framework, with doubts about the possibility of renewed demonstrations and the storming of the Green Zone by al-Sadr's supporters again, which may have prompted the security authorities to tighten procedures, including the iron gate on the Jumhuriya Bridge, whose structures the Baghdadis have seen days ago.

To avoid the worrying "scenarios" that may occur after the end of the fortieth visitation ceremonies, "frameworkers" are trying to put forward several proposals, such as replacing the name of the prime minister's candidate, or changing the location of the meetings in which the so-called "road map" was formulated days ago.

Parties in the "coordination" believe that the house, which belongs to one of the leaders of the Shiite forces, may "provocate" the leader of the Sadrist movement, especially since the owner of this house had caused a crisis months ago in Al-Hanana, where Al-Sadr's residence is located in Najaf.

The last position of al-Sadr's allies had encouraged a semi-final agreement between the political forces to hold new early elections at the end of 2023, and to resume parliament sessions after the end of the fortieth visit.

And about the nature of those discussions within the coordination framework, a leader in one of the Shiite parties indicated that there is "a conviction among the parties in the framework that it is not possible to form a new government in any way without the approval of Al-Sadr."

Those convictions revealed by the leader appeared in a statement by the head of the Sovereignty Alliance, Khamis al-Khanjar, after the alliance announced with its partner the Democratic Party a preliminary approval to form a government with full powers, which is contrary to what al-Sadr demands.

Al-Khanjar said in a tweet on Twitter: "Rescuing the homeland and protecting civil peace is our priority at this sensitive stage, and our goal is to formulate a comprehensive national dialogue and a vision agreed upon by all without the predominance of one party over another or breaking wills."

He added, "We support early, free and fair elections, under a strong government acceptable to all parties." Here, the leader, who spoke to Al-Mada on condition of anonymity, describes what Al-Khanjar said as "a regression from Sunday's statement."

The last statement was issued after a meeting that brought together Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi and head of the Sovereignty Alliance Khamis al-Khanjar with Kurdistan Democratic Party Chairman Massoud Barzani in Erbil, for the first time after al-Sadr called on those parties to collectively resign to overthrow the legitimacy of Parliament.

The Erbil statement stressed: “The necessity of adopting the language of constructive dialogue; To overcome differences and reach solutions that are in the interest of the Iraqi people, and to follow constitutional and legal methods to overcome the repercussions of the current stage.”

He continued, "The two sides stressed the importance of holding early elections after preparing the legal requirements and their requirements in accordance with the constitutional mechanisms, preceded by the formation of a government that enjoys full authority and enjoys the confidence and confidence of all with an agreed government program, with an emphasis on the need for the House of Representatives to continue its work until the election date."

The Shiite leader reveals that after Al-Khanjar and Erbil's statement, messages reached the coordination framework stating that "Al-Sadr's partners will not accept any solution that does not satisfy the leader of the Sadrist movement, and they certainly will not accept a candidate like Muhammad Al-Sudani, who was rejected by the latter."

In the last two days, parties in the "Coordination" have put forward other names besides Al-Sudani, such as Basra Governor Asaad Al-Eidani, and recently the name of former MP Adnan Al-Zorfi, who was a candidate to take over the government after the resignation of Adel Abdul-Mahdi at the end of 2019, was re-submitted.

The leakage of this news appears behind a statement denying the withdrawal of Al-Sudani's candidacy, which angered the team that controls the "Coordination Committee" and has been drafting most of the Shiite group's statements since last June, after Al-Sadr announced his withdrawal from the government formation process.

Nuri al-Maliki, the leader of the state of law, began to gradually impose his vision on the poles of the coordination framework, and reluctantly passed the name of the Sudanese from some parties to the "framework", especially Haider al-Abadi, the leader of victory, and Hadi al-Amiri, the leader of the Fatah Alliance, who was enthusiastic about the name of Qasim al-Araji, the National Security Adviser, who withdrew from the competition in the hours The last one before naming the Sudanese.

The Al-Attar statement, after the leaks of the last candidate’s change, announced that it appreciated what it described as “the great, patriotic and constitutional position of the Sovereignty Alliance and the Kurdistan Democratic Party after their meeting in Erbil,” in which the two parties announced their adherence to the constitutional option in holding early elections after creating the appropriate climates for them and under the supervision of the government. Full powers and the return of constitutional institutions to practice their work, according to the statement.

The statement stressed, "his continuation of dialogue with all parties to implement the constitutional obligations, the return of institutions to perform their tasks and the formation of a government with full powers, in order to spare the country more crises," stressing that "he will do everything he can to speed up the creation of appropriate conditions and ensure the participation of all." .

At the end of the statement, the statement revealed that he had "reached advanced understandings with the national forces," stressing his "full adherence to his candidate for prime minister, Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani."

On the other hand, the scenes of the meetings indicate different things, as the leader in the second line mentioned that “what is happening is a provocation to Al-Sadr, especially since the recent meetings of what is known as the road map drafting committee, which meets in the house of one of the leaders of the secondary framework.”

The leader confirmed that "there is ambiguity behind choosing this house in particular, especially since its owner (reserving to mention his name) had angered his presence last April during Hadi al-Amiri's visit to al-Hanana to meet al-Sadr at the time, whom the leader of the movement considered as loyal to Tehran."

The Shiite party member criticized the choice of the leaders' homes to hold the meetings in a way that "reminds us of the meeting of the Baathists in the days of wars," noting that "it is better to meet in well-known halls and not personal homes." LINK
