The Prime Minister of Iraq, Adel Abdul Mahdi, that the budget must be approved quickly 2020 to prevent the disruption of resources of the working sectors.

The deputy of the Kurdistan Islamic Group, Salim Hamza, on Wednesday, set a date next Sunday for a meeting of the House of Representatives, indicating the session will be allocated to pass new reform packages as well as the law of retirement.

Hamza said in a statement to / information / that "the Presidency of the House of Representatives set on Sunday as a date for the parliament session to discuss several topics." He added that "the political situation does not bear further procrastination in resolving the file, especially the demands of demonstrators and the parliament must pass all requests."

Hamza explained that "the session will be devoted to support the government in passing the reform packages recently approved, as well as to discuss the latest political developments and pass the pension law."   LINK

Internet service was cut again this afternoon in Baghdad and several Iraqi cities. This comes within a few hours after the service returned on Tuesday morning after the interruption of midnight, at a time when the country is witnessing a wave of bloody protests.

The Iraqi authorities did not give an explanation for the reason for the interruption. Iraqi authorities have previously cut Internet services in the face of a wave of protests.

On Monday, at least five people were killed after Iraqi security forces opened fire in Baghdad on protesters, thousands of whom continued to rally in the biggest wave of anti-government protests in decades. Protests in Kuwait demanding political reforms and participation in an open sit-in on Wednesday erupted in the capital's al-Irada square.

The former MP in the Kuwaiti parliament, Saleh Al-Mulla, on Tuesday, in a tweet on his account "Twitter", has been "completed the legal procedure for the vigil from the capital and public security building," pointing out that "the date of the stop will be at seven o'clock time From tomorrow evening."

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Internet services have been cut in Baghdad and large parts of Iraq as the country has seen a wave of protests against the ruling elite, the NetBlocks Observatory said.

"At the time of writing, public Internet connections fell below 19% from normal levels, cutting off service to tens of millions of users in Baghdad, and Basra, Karbala and other population centers were also affected," the Observatory said in a statement late on Monday.

"We believe that the new interruption is the biggest interruption we are observing in Baghdad to date," the Observatory said. Iraqi authorities have previously cut Internet services in the face of a wave of protests.

Earlier, Reuters news agency reported the deaths and injuries as Iraqi security forces attempted to break up protests at al-Ahrar bridge leading to al-Rashid Street in central Baghdad on Monday.

JJimmyjj:  It is very interesting to me that Trump took time from his ever- present Twitter defense of the impeachment investigation to retweet reports last night of Iraqis protesting at the Iranian embassy.

Why would the US POTUS, a guy who isn't noted for being a sober humanitarian,  care about a regional clash between minor players?

Well,  what IS Trump interested in? He's interested in business deals,  he's interested in improving the global business climate,  and he's interested in furthering US interests domestically and internationally. 

These tweets tells me that Trump sees Iraq, and removing Iranian influence from Iraq, as a policy goal of the US to further their business and foreign policy interests.

I could be overstating it,  but I don't think so. Trump didn't retweet info about Lebanese protests, or even about protests in Hong Kong-- yet he did about Iraq.

There is more US blood and treasure invested in Iraq, beneath the surface,  than is discussed in popular culture. Thankfully,  we are aware of it and backed it with our own treasure. And, it is very nice to see our faith fed sometimes. Godspeed,  Iraq, in your quest for true political and economic freedom!

Activists and politicians on social media and local and international media confirmed the success of the popular boycott of Iranian goods even though it started three days ago.

According to what was leaked, the commercial goods from Iran to the Iraqi markets filled the stores and jammed after traders decided not to buy them to participate in the demonstrators in their demands.

Meanwhile, the mother of the activist Saba al-Mahdawi, on Sunday, launched a distress cry to recover her daughter who was kidnapped by armed militia.

He added that "financial institutions that have been included in the list of international sanctions included the Islamic Bank of the tender" former country "and Noor Islamic Bank of Iraq and the Khalidi Exchange Company located in the province of Erbil," note that the latter is not authorized by the Central Bank of Iraq.

Our agency reviews a summary of the popular demonstrations in Tahrir Square in central Baghdad on Sunday, for the tenth day.

The summary was as follows:

1 - a significant reduction in the targeting of demonstrators tear gas.
2 - provide large logistical support to the demonstrators in the "Turkish restaurant" and down the river cliff from the bridge of the Republic.
3 - the presence of medical health detachments with all medical supplies.
4 - At 8 am, the students recorded a large presence in Tahrir Square and not recorded any injury or suffocation.
5 - Rescue the riot force to the demonstrators in the river and return them to the place of protest without arrest or beaten.
6 - Set up tents and large processions in Saadoun Street and the streets near Tahrir Square in support of the demonstrators.

"The demonstrations are now going on smoothly as many processions spread food and drink to the demonstrators," he said. He continued, "Today the incident of the martyrdom of two demonstrators, (Hussein Darraji and Ali) as a result of tear gas canisters that settled in the head and there is a solemn funeral for these two martyrs in Tahrir Square, and lit candles on the lives of martyrs."

Angry protesters cut off a border crossing in Maysan province with Iran, a security source said on Sunday.

The source said in a press statement that the demonstrators blocked the road outlet Al-Shaib, the land border crossing between Iraq and Iran from the province of Maysan.

He added that demonstrators in Maysan blocked the road to the morgue, leading to the oil fields, and forced employees to return to their homes.

In Basra, demonstrators blocked the road linking Khor Al-Zubair and Umm Qasr districts, south of the province, by burning tires, to prevent the passage of staff and prevent security forces from reaching Umm Qasr, which is witnessing a large sit-in by hundreds of people in front of the port of Umm Qasr.

On the other hand, the Baghdad -Diyala road was blocked by demonstrators in the Shaab area as part of the civil disobedience announced by many areas of Baghdad and several provinces.  link

The following is IMO only. (Outside the scope of the protests, obviously)

We all know Iran is the reason this  has not happened yet. Doodles & I hypothesized that Iran needed to be made to comply or had to be dealt with harshly back in November 2017 and it was just our opinions. We spoke of this in team chat and made a few posts about it.

So fast forward to now. Last week and the week before we saw articles stating that Lebanon banks were closed and what turned out to be, for 2 weeks. <---- In that time the 2nd round of protests kicked off. We entered a pause and a much needed revolution to oust Iran from Iraq and its financial system(s). Iran CANNOT profit from this RI.

So I'm sitting here shopping for a twin turbo set-up for my big wheel and I am thinking about Lebanon. I never knew until just a few days ago that Iran has its meat hooks in Lebanon. I/we read just a few days ago that Lebanon banks were reopened and fully operational for their peeps. They led us to believe that their up rise is what contributed or fully caused the Lebanon banks to close and it was probably part of it, but NEVER LET A CHRISIS go to waste.

I had a thought today. Just about 30m prior to this post. I thought. hmmmm I wonder if the UST has sanctions on Lebanese banking? Well whatia-ya know they DO. Imposed in August & September of this year....

WOW. this is really quite brilliant of Trump/UST if I am even close to being right. lolol So its all about timing. We all know that. Trump timed it all to this point. Now we see the CBI Gov put forward and hopefully will be confirmed soon. <---- WHY??? Because its now TIME FOR HIM TO BE ANNOUNCED. (<--cbi gov). Hence why I said we are at the end game side of this opinion.

The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, declared that the Arab region is the most suffering in the world from water shortage, noting that 80% of the Arab water sources are outside the Arab world.

Aboul Gheit said in a speech on Sunday at the opening of the third week of sustainable development: “Countries in the Arab Mashreq (Syria and Iraq in particular) suffer from Turkish domination over water resources. Palestinians suffer from systematic looting by the occupation for years. Groundwater in the Occupied Territories .. Finally, Egypt is facing a serious threat to its share of the Nile water because of the Renaissance Dam project, which Ethiopia is building on the Blue Nile .. Note that Egypt, which has a population of more than 100 million, has already entered the stage of water poverty for years.

 The Supreme Council for Combating Corruption announced today, Saturday, the resolution of about eight thousand files of corruption out of 12 files, indicating that the delay in resolving those files was not due to the judiciary, but because of administrative investigations.

Council member Saeed Yassin Moussa said in a statement that “the exceptional measures taken by the Supreme Judicial Council to initiate effective anti-corruption measures will lead to the resolution of more than 12,000 cases of corruption previously protected due to delays in administrative procedures that represented An impregnable fence to protect the corrupt. ”

Moussa added that "the delay in resolving these files was not because of the judiciary, but because of administrative investigations that the head of the department - who is a minister or deputy - was entitled to delay for various reasons, and therefore do not reach the judiciary to decide, which is now exceeded."

He pointed out that “of the 12 thousand files of corruption had been resolved about 8000 thousand of them, while remaining important issues are thousands. Therefore, such decisive measures have now begun to set the record straight.     link

Samson:  Trade reveals huge financial losses in Iraq

Trade Minister Mohammed Hashim al-Ani said that the closure of the southern ports by demonstrators will negatively affect the flow of food items in the ration card items to the ministry's warehouses.

Ani said in a statement, received (Euphrates News) a copy, that "the closure of southern ports by demonstrators, negatively affect the flow of food in the ration card to the ministry's stores and delays the processing of vocabulary to citizens." He added, "There are a number of ships loaded with rice and food for the Ministry of Commerce, delayed unloading of their cargo, because of the closure of ports and this costs Iraq a large amount of money, since the ministry has contracts with companies and ships, certain times for the process of loading and unloading."

Al-Ani pointed out that "the ministry stands with the legitimate demands of the demonstrators and worked in cooperation with the ministerial committee to meet them, and here we call on the demonstrators not to endanger the interests of the people, especially as these ships carry food for citizens." Samson:  Kurdish MP: All negotiations with Baghdad are stalled because of the demonstrations

The deputy of the Islamic group Salim Hamza Saturday, stopped all negotiations between the governments of the Center and the region because of the demonstrations, pointing out that Erbil and Baghdad are waiting for a round of negotiations to agree on the budget share.

Hamza said in a statement to the information that the negotiations between Baghdad and Erbil are almost stalled because of demonstrations in the central and southern provinces. Hamza added that "the political situation in the country needs to meet the demands of the demonstrators and cooperation in order to implement them in parliament."

Prime Minister spokesman William Warda confirmed on Saturday that the prime minister intends to submit the ministerial changes in the coming days, indicating that the expansion depends on the performance of the ministers during the recent period and the implementation of reforms.

Warda told Al-Maalouma that "Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi is about to complete the partial cabinet change in the cabinet and submit his list to the House of Representatives for a vote."

He added that "the Prime Minister intends to expand the ministerial change to the rest of the other positions in the government," noting that "the change and assessment is taking place over the implementation of the ministerial program of ministers and the implementation of reforms."

1. We are number one in oil exports
2. We have picked up the buyers of oil from countries like Iran and Venezuela.
3. The United States controls the price of oil worldwide.

Which translates into a larger market share of the oil market.

It makes OPEC relatively irrelevant.

I do not believe President Donald Trump would intentionally decimate Iraqi economy although if he wants them to add value to their currency he could remind them of who controls oil prices.
By reminding them of how quickly he restored global prices after the attack on SA.

In other words we control the economy of the entire middle East.Can you say pressure.

The CBI. Holds the keys to unlocking the Iraqi market share into international markets.Note something the rest of the middle East is already part of (international markets). And by doing so relieves the pressure within the country.

The death of 2 birds one stone so to speak. IMO of course.

Market share... Iraqi market share has grown over the last 5 to 10 years in 2019 started to contract Iraqis GDP 90% consists of oil sales.

We have seen the IMF talk to countries in the middle east about finding new ways to support their economies other than oil. Because they know the price of oil is going to come down.

Iran attacked Armco in SA which drove oil prices up for about a week.

Until President Trump opened up our oil reserves it's brought the prices back down within two weeks.
With the technologies that we have to extract oil it is much cheaper today for us to extract oil than 10 years ago.

President Trump is renegotiates trade deals because the petro dollar is going to die as will the federal reserve.

United States economy is the largest in the world it consists of 77% of the world markets China has lost 2 trillion worth of market share United States has picked up 2 trillion in the last 2 years.
In December of this year OPEC is going to meet again and discuss cutbacks on production in order to stabilize the market price of oil President Trump wants cheap oil and can do it in days by opening up our reserves again.

While there's many factors in determining currencies value market share plays a big part.

My point is this Iraq has no choice but to add value to their currency in order to enter are markets in order to gain market share.

The thieving politicians in Iraq could put it off previously due to the fact that Iraq was gaining market share with Iraq's market share contracting due to OPEC cutbacks they really have no choice but to add purchasing power to their currency.

This is all in IMO  a lot of what the CBI has done has been done for a while when you take into consideration the articles that KTFA has / is provided a lot of it what has been told to us was told to us over a year ago that we're just now starting to see.

But I truly believe they have no choice they cannot put this off much longer if they do President Trump could open up our reserves and decimate their economy I remember him stating he would like to see oil prices around $23 a barrel let that sinking for a minute.

Samson:  China announces preliminary agreement with Washington on trade

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce announced that the Chinese and US negotiating teams reached a preliminary agreement on trade between the two countries.

Chinese Deputy Prime Minister Liu He had a telephone conversation with US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and Treasury Secretary Stephen Mnuchin.

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce said in a statement on Friday that the two sides "had a serious and constructive discussion on how to address the main points of concern and reached agreement on principles." The ministry said the two sides also discussed the arrangement of the following discussions on the subject.

For his part, the US Trade Representative's office announced "progress in various areas" during the White House and Mnuchin discussions with China. The US office did not confirm the initial agreement announced by the Chinese side.

Samson:  Oil Prices Rise 4% On US-China Trade Talks

Oil prices rose nearly 4% on Friday, supported by signs of progress in US-China trade talks and stronger-than-expected economic data in both countries, including US jobs and Chinese factory activity.

Brent crude futures ended the session up $ 2.07, or 3.5%, to settle at $ 61.69 a barrel but ended the week down about 0.4%. US West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures rose $ 2.02, or 3.7%, to settle at $ 56.20 a barrel, but fell 0.8% over the week.

A Reuters survey showed that oil prices are expected to remain under pressure in the current and next year. A survey of 51 economists and analysts predicted Brent would average $ 64.16 a barrel in 2019 and $ 62.38 a barrel next year. Another Reuters survey found that OPEC output recovered in October from an eight-year low.

Concerns about global economic growth and oil demand eased after US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross said on Friday the "first phase" of a trade deal with China appeared to be in good shape and was likely to be signed around mid-November.   LINK

Banks in Lebanon continue to operate for the second day in a row, after resuming their activities on Friday, after two weeks of closure due to protests calling for change in the country.

The Central Bank of Lebanon has pledged not to impose restrictions on the movement of funds, measures that could hamper the availability of the currency and investment Lebanon needs to weather its worst economic crisis. More than $4 million is expected to be withdrawn from banks that are struggling in the US currency, adding to pressure on the lira. The reopening of the banks followed the resignation of Prime Minister Saad al-Hariri this week, a key demand of protesters, who blocked main roads and rallied in public squares.

Lebanese have been protesting since October 17 to demand an end to rampant corruption and mismanagement by the political class that has ruled the country for three decades. There were fears that the reopening of Lebanese banks could lead many customers to withdraw their savings, but by mid-Friday, the banks appeared to be operating normally. There were no signs of long lines or frustrations at four branches of various banks in central Beirut, and customers leaving the branches said they were operating normally.

In some parts of the city, some local banks had people waiting in line, but crowds were expected two weeks after the closure.

ATMs continued to operate during the crisis, although many stopped using the long-accepted US dollar as a second currency. The central bank has not imposed any capital controls, which would undermine confidence in the economy, but private banks appear to have imposed their own restrictions. Some banks do not allow clients to withdraw $ 2,000 a week in foreign currency, and some impose a total ban on the transfer of funds abroad.  LINK

Samson:  Vietnam attracts investors in the face of economic uncertainty

Despite the slowdown in global deal-making due to ongoing worldwide economic uncertainty, Việt Nam remains active in M&A in 2020, according to a new report by Baker McKenzie. 

The firm’s fifth annual Global Transactions Forecast, jointly released with Oxford Economics, projects that mergers and acquisitions (M&A) will decline globally from US$2.8 trillion in 2019 to $2.1 trillion in 2020. The forecast also predicts a downward trend in IPO proceeds from an estimated $152 billion in 2019 to $116 billion, a 23 per cent drop.

For Việt Nam, the forecast expects GDP growth may ease over the next 18 months, due to export growth trends declining amid lower Chinese import demand and increased global protectionism. Currently, Việt Nam’s average annual GDP growth of 6.2 per cent is higher than the global average of 2.8 per cent.

Baker McKenzie expects cross-border acquisitions to dominate M&A deals in the coming years, as the country’s solid social economic fundamentals continue to attract overseas investors. “Việt Nam remains active in M&A right now, due to positive market factors and confidence that help create business opportunities, as well as multilateral agreements that continue to prompt regulatory reform,” said Seck Yee Chung, who heads Baker McKenzie’s M&A practice in Việt Nam.

Việt Nam, Thailand and Indonesia were identified in the report as Asian countries that saw strong inbound activity in 2019. This year’s largest cross-border signed inbound deal in the country was South Korea's chips-to-energy conglomerate SK Group's US$1 billion investment in Vingroup – Việt Nam's largest firm. This was followed shortly by South Korea-headquartered Hana Bank’s purchase of a 15 per cent stake in the Bank for Investment and Development of Việt Nam (BIDV) worth US$850 million. South Korea is the largest source of foreign direct investment in Việt Nam, as the latter has become a production base for major Korean multinationals such as Samsung and LG. 

Despite continued interest from investors, Việt Nam may experience a decline in M&A, as total transactions will dip from $2.6 billion in 2019 to $1.7 billion in 2020, a 35 per cent decrease. In IPOs, the report did not post any estimates for 2019-2020. Looking ahead, the report predicts that activity will pick up again post-2020, as Việt Nam remains an attractive market.

Asia Pacific sees more declines in 2020

In Asia Pacific, the report predicts M&A activity declining 18 per cent from $634 billion in 2019 to $529 billion in 2020, and IPO activity will likely continue its slower trend from this year, which is expected to amount to $36 billion, a 43 per cent decline from 2018. IPO proceeds are predicted to dip even further to $33 billion in 2020.

The region’s weaker performance in 2019 can be attributed to a reduction in Chinese outbound deals due to government restrictions on outward investment. On a broader scale, this in turn may dampen economic momentum across Asia Pacific. “Make no mistake — deals are getting done, but the current slowdown is inevitable, considering the continuing uncertainty around trade and regulation,” said Ai Ai Wong, chair of Baker McKenzie’s Global Transactional Group. “We know that around the world, there are many investors and companies with capital on the sidelines, waiting to move forward with domestic and cross-border deals.”

A range of upside and downside risks could impact the global economy and lead to a rise or drop in deal values and volumes that differ from the central transactions forecast presented in this report. Samson:  World Bank: Iraq's economy is slowly recovering

The World Bank announced that the Iraqi economy is slowly recovering in 2019

"In the first half of 2019, GDP grew by 4.8% compared to the previous year, which led to a reversal in the contraction of the economy over the past two years," the World Bank said in a report on Iraq seen by the Economy News

He added that this growth comes as a result of the increase in crude oil production (up to 6.3% so far) and the recovery in non-oil economic activity, an increase of 5.6% in the first half of 2019 compared to last year

He stressed that "the recent recovery is due to improved levels of rainfall and the production of record agricultural crops and improved electricity production and expansionary fiscal policy linked to increased wage bill and public consumption

"Such positive developments are expected to raise real GDP growth to an estimated 4.6% by the end of the year," he said

He pointed out that "the Iraqi economy outperformed its counterparts in the region this year, but the dynamics of the population requires much higher growth to maintain the current level of prosperity   LINK

The parliamentary finance committee confirmed on Wednesday that the dismissal or resignation of Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi will not affect the passage of the draft federal budget law for 2020.

Samson:  US Oil Inventories Rise Above Expectations

US oil inventories rose more than expected last week, according to data released by the Energy Information Administration, to continue oil to fall further than previously.

US oil inventories rose 5.7 million barrels in the week ending October 25, according to the Energy Data Administration, while the market awaited a rise of 494,000 barrels.

Gasoline inventories fell 3 million barrels, compared to expectations of a decline of 2.19 million barrels, while derivatives recorded a decline of 1 million barrels, compared with expectations of a decline of 2.35 million barrels. WTI futures were down 0.9%, and Brent fell 1%.     LINK

IMO...whether you multiply by 10 or divide, the point is these sites know something is up with the IQD! To me, the most interesting thing here is the fact of changing the Dinar from an exotic currency to a minor currency is a major change!

Seriously though none of this would be occurring if the Dinar wasn't moving from being a PR (exotic currency) to a soon to be internationally recognized currency!
