sandyf   @BobbyC No way in hell could those 2 (LD/HD) run concurrently in the market. Hell we still have a 1K note but is it in the Market? Imagine vendors making change for 2 denominations of currency. - Your argument is all mixed up, it has never happened in the US so difficult to imagine but those of us that have lived through it know what happens.

It is 2 different currencies with related values, ie 1000 to 1, not different denominations. Goods are dual priced, one being the national currency and the other the superseded currency, vendor is supposed to give change in the national currency. Standard practice in a redenomination.

BobbyC   sandyf I believe what I said was 2 different denominations of the current currency (250 to the 50K note) If those HD's are kept in the market , along with the supposed LD's of IQD, let's say 1 to 50, it would be mass confusion I threw in the 1K USD to reflect a currency still in use, thru the Banks, but not in the market

BobbyC  My thinking is Iraq will re-denominate before new LD's are issued. Gives weight to Iraq wanting to go from Trillions to Billions

The ministry stated in a statement, which {Al Furat News} received a copy of, that "this came during his presidency, today, Sunday, an important meeting at the headquarters of the General Company for Electricity Distribution in Baghdad, in the presence of the General Director of the General Company, Hussein Ata Dahsh Al-Zubaidi, his assistants for technical affairs and distribution and the directors of the company's branches Al-Karkh and Al-Rusafa) and director of communications and control.
