Political forces have ruled out resuming the parliament's work soon due to the current crisis and the Sadrist movement's sit-in in the parliament building, calling for direct negotiations and talks between the opposing blocs with the aim of reaching solutions that defuse the crisis.

Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi issued a statement received by Al-Mada, in which he confirmed the suspension of parliament sessions until further notice.

A member of the Al-Fateh Alliance, Fadel Al-Fatlawi, said in a statement to Al-Mada that "the charged atmosphere makes it difficult to hold a close session of Parliament, and the wise and wise should move to remedy the situation through dialogue and understanding."

Al-Fatlawi added, "Sitting at a direct dialogue table will solve many problems, especially since Parliament will live in a state of disruption as a result of recent developments."

He called on political leaders to "release calm speeches that seek to defuse the crisis, think about the country's interest and think of realistic solutions that fit the stage we are in.”

Al-Fatlawi added, "All national parties hope that there will be a dialogue table that brings together all political parties and leading figures, especially parties that find themselves at odds with each other, and we have no other solution to calm the situation."

But a member of the Al-Hikma bloc, Rahim Al-Aboudi, confirmed that "the coordinating framework adheres to the nomination of Muhammad Al-Sawadni to the position of prime minister."

Al-Aboudi spoke about a “committee that was formed that will conduct negotiations with all political forces with the aim of reaching agreements and a government program capable of bearing the burdens of the next stage and overcoming crises within time limits.”

For his part, Kurdistan Democratic Party MP Suhaib al-Lahibi said in a statement to Al-Mada that "what some political forces sought to insist on holding a session of Parliament is incorrect, and the evidence is what happened during these two days."

Al-Lahibi continued, "The current opinion is for the Iraqi street to make a radical change in the political process," calling on "political forces to see what the Iraqi street has gone through."

He pointed out, "the possibility of conducting negotiations between the political blocs in order to resume the work of Parliament and reach an agreement that satisfies the masses," expressing his hope that "positive results will be reached that will save Iraq from possible ruin."

Al-Luhaibi concluded, “All the data indicate the difficulty of resuming parliament sessions in these circumstances, and then proceeding with the formation of the government.”

In a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, President Nechirvan Barzani said that "we are following with deep concern the political situation and developments taking place in Iraq," calling on the various political parties to exercise utmost restraint and engage in direct dialogue in order to solve problems.

President Barzani: All The World's Money Is Not Worth The Greatness Of A Martyr, But Compensating The Families Of The Anfal People Is A Moral Responsibility

Erbil (Kurdistan 24) - President Masoud Barzani said today, Sunday, that all the world's money is not worth the greatness of the remains of one of our martyrs, but compensating the families of the martyrs is a moral responsibility of the federal government, and Baghdad should assume its responsibilities in this regard.

President Barzani's statements came during a funeral ceremony for the remains of 100 Barzani victims of the notorious Anfal operations launched by the former Baathist regime against the Kurds in the eighties of the last century.

In addition to President Barzani, Kurdistan Regional President Nechirvan Barzani, former Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi, and Foreign Minister Fouad Hussein attended the ceremony.

President Barzani said, "On a day like today, 39 years ago, the Baathist dictatorship killed 8,000 innocent people, with extreme brutality, in the deserts of southern Iraq, and they were between 12 and 90 years old, and all their fault was that they were Barzani."

He added that "what happened is a wound that will not heal," stressing at the same time that efforts are being made at the international level to gain recognition of the Anfal crime as a genocide.

President Barzani called on Baghdad to compensate the families of the victims and said: "All the world's money is not worth the bones of any of our martyrs, but compensation for the families of the martyrs is a moral responsibility that falls on the shoulders of the federal government, and Baghdad must fulfill its duties in this regard."

During the ceremony, wreaths were laid on the coffins containing the remains of the victims, before burial in the Barzanis Al-Anfal cemetery in the Barzan region.

On July 31, 1983, the Iraqi Revolutionary Guard launched a campaign against the Barzanis, where these forces collected 8,000 people from them, and those who killed them.

And then Saddam Hussein's regime carried out other Anfal operations against the Kurds, which began on February 22, 1988, and continued until September 6 of the same year.   LINK
