PM-Designate Al-Zarfi announced, on Thursday, that he is stepping down from forming the Iraqi government.
Mustafa Al-Kazemi has now been chosen to become the next PM-Designate with a new set of 30 days to form his cabinet -- if he takes that long.

Both the Iraqi Forces Alliance and the Kurdistan Regional Government presidency announced, on Wednesday, their support for the nomination of the head of the Intelligence Agency, Mustafa al-Kazimi, to head the new government.
Mustafa Abd al-Latif, who was born in Baghdad in the year 1967, was born with a law degree.
And he chose the name (Mustafa Al-Kazemi) during his work as a journalist in a number of local media, before he became editor-in-chief of the weekly magazine “Barham Salih”, whose privilege was “Barham Salih”, the current Iraqi president.
Al-Kazemi was an active opponent of former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, who lived for years in exile, but did not join any of the Iraqi political parties.

Mustafa Al-Kazemi worked as a columnist and managing editor of the Iraq section of Al-Monitor International, and his articles focused on devoting the spirit of social peace in Iraq, establishing the future and the country's historical position, and uncovering the failures and confusion that accompanied the experience of the political system and ways to address it. Whatever it is, there definitely something happening... there is a lot of play with the IQD...there's definitely a lot of action going on with this...I know an exchange person...and he's got a lot of very very rich people coming in buying very very large amounts of the Iraqi dinar. Now that doesn't mean they have inside information but he's just saying an unusual amount of rich people have started coming in and buying large amounts of IQD...

Samson: Iraq maintains its global ranking in terms of gold reserves

The World Gold Council affirmed on Thursday that five Arab countries, including Iraq, have maintained their global ranking in terms of having the largest gold reserves.
The council said in a statistic during the month of April that "Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Algeria, Libya and Iraq maintained their global ranking with the world's largest gold reserves and reserves of 996.4 tons."
The council added, "Iraq still maintains its fifth Arab position, after which it came after Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Algeria and Libya, as well as maintained 38th place globally out of 100 countries included in the international financial statistics for global gold reserves," noting that "Iraq reserves It amounted to 96.3 tons of gold."
The Council pointed out that "the United States of America is still in the first place with the largest reserves of gold in the world, as these reserves reached 8.133.5 tons, followed by Germany with 3.366 tons, while Haiti topped the ranking table with only 1.8 tons." LINK
