OPEC Reveals Its Outlook For The Oil Market For 2022

Economie| 06:33 - 15/03/2022   Baghdad - Mawazine News, "OPEC" maintained its forecast for the growth of global demand for oil in 2022 at 4.2 million barrels per day, but indicated the possibility of revising expectations in light of the geopolitical turmoil.

According to the report of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries for the month of March, "OPEC" said: "Expectations may change in the coming weeks when there is more clarity about the long-term repercussions of geopolitical turmoil." 

She pointed out that the forecasts of supplies from non-OPEC countries are awaiting revision due to the development of the situation around Ukraine, and the organization said: "These forecasts are under evaluation and will be reviewed and amended in the coming weeks if necessary."

Previous forecasts indicated a growth in oil supplies from non-OPEC countries in 2022 by 3 million barrels per day. The United States, Russia, Canada, Brazil and Kazakhstan were expected to be the main drivers of growth.

With regard to the situation around Ukraine, the report stated that the development of the situation around Ukraine will lead to a decrease in oil consumption and investment in this sector, with acceleration of inflation and economic uncertainty.

Basra Heavy Crude Drops To More Than $7

Economie| 11:42 - 16/03/2022   Follow-up - Mawazine News, the price of Basra Heavy crude fell, on Wednesday, by more than 7 dollars, to record 94 dollars per barrel.

Basra Heavy crude, exported to Asia, fell $7.03 with a change rate of 6.93%, to reach $94.42 per barrel.

United Nations: We Are Deeply Concerned About The Missile Attack In Erbil

Urged the United Nations, to support Iraqi efforts to promote regional peace and security.

"The Secretary-General is deeply concerned about the missile attack in Erbil," Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesman for the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, said in a briefing at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, in a statement to the United Nations Mission in Iraq. Iraq's path to peace and stability.
