Al-Muthanna: The Construction Of The Largest Iron Plant In The Center And The South Has Begun
Al-Muthanna Investment Authority announced the start of the implementation of the Samawa steel plant project, which is considered the largest in terms of production capacity at the level of the central and southern governorates of the country.
The Director General of the Authority, Adel Dakhil Al-Yasiri, said in a statement, "The technical and engineering staff in the Al-Hayat Industrial Investments Company have started the work of preparing the land and amending the soil in preparation for the completion of the concrete foundations for the Samawa steel plant project in the second industrial axis in Al-Najmi district, north of Muthanna."
Al-Yasiri added, "The project is being implemented on an area of fifty dunums at a cost of about (60) million US dollars by the Iraqi investor Ahmed Kazem Musa. The first phase of it will be completed within one year, and it includes the production of reinforcing steel bars with a production capacity of (9) thousand tons per month."
He added, "The second phase, which will be implemented within two years after the completion of the first phase, includes the production of (20) thousand tons / month of reinforcing bars, as well as (300) tons of industrial iron, which includes (plates, angle iron, roofing iron and iron pipes) of various diameters and sizes." .
Al-Yasiri stated that "the factory includes three production stages, namely, the melting furnaces, the foundry and the rolling stage. In the first stages of manufacturing, it depends on iron scrap, while it will rely entirely on imported glass dirt and other raw materials available locally in the final stages."
