Sah @NORV Good evening. Everything looks to be coming along nicely.
NORV what does that mean>
Sah The economy and the laws to be voted on in Parliament. The investment in changing salt water from ocean to be used for pumping oil instead of the water that is a shortage. Building more recovery systems for gas for electricity and becoming completely digital in there banking and bring Kurds on line. this should help for the foundation to build the economy on for Iraq..

NORV well, i will believe it when I see it. Iraq is the master of all talk. There are over 100 stalled laws. They have not passed one of them in 5 years.
NORV The idea is good, the plan is good, but it is time for them to stop talking and start doing.
NORV They have three years. We will see if they make a significant difference
Sah There are 7 that have been read and were voted on for the first round. Will see how the second reading goes.
NORV none of that means anything. Iraq likes to read them twice and then do nothing
NORV I have watched them for 16 years. rather sickening
NORV dont misunderstand me, yes, they have started to put some pieces in place. But now they need to follow through.
Sah Sudani says he wants them all passed. He gave 6 months for Oil and gas and mineral law. The Kurds wasted three months and he said we are getting it done in this session. Kurds are pumping their oil through Baghdad and they collected all money minus expensive and gave them almost a billion dinar for public salaries. Things are changing.
NORV If I have a dollar for everytime they said things or people told me things were changing, I wouldnt need dinar. lol
Sah Sudani does not barter with any political party there on constitutional laws and is making every one follow. I have never seen it progress like this as fast. The other past years it as drug on for too long with nothing done.
NORV parliament is corrupt. and anytime they bring in new, they become corrupt. So It will take a miracle to pass the laws.
NORV Do you know who put Sudani in office?
NORV He is just a Maliki pawn
Sah I agree. So glad to see that they dissolved the Kurdistan Parliament. Too long with out a new election. I hope it takes some of the corruption out.
NORV And I know a guy who met Maliki. told me many stories
Sah Sudani is not playing to Maliki. Maliki does not like it. He told him he has to stay impartial and has not been giving into him. Sudani is a different kind of player than Maliki wanted.
NORV We will see.
NORV I will have this conversation with you in 3 years and see if your right.
NORV my guess is we will still be sitting here waiting
Sah Sudani says that at least 27 billion dollars from oil sales in the past from Kurdistan is not accounted for and was never shared with the Kurdistan people. I think he has Barzani over a barrel or he will have him investigated for corruption and stealing from the Iraq people.
Sah I hope it helps put the Oil and Gas and Mineral law thru. No barter Sudani said. Everything to the constitutional law.
NORV If true, hope he does. But Iraq is a master of diversion rather than doing what they should.
NORV All I care about is them passing laws and creating a investment environment.
NORV Which never happens
NORV They keep talking about it, but nothing happens. And nobody is coming until they do.
Sah Japan has helped finance two new gas capture plants to be built. In one year Iraq said they will not need to import gas from Iran for their oil. The environment looks like it is changing. When those plants are done there will be more electricity for Iraq. They are building new plants to generate electricity from gas. I have never seen it coming alive like this.
NORV nobody is coming until the laws are passed
NORV heard it all many times
Sah Can you imagine them having enough electricity to run everything.
Sah That has got to change the economy.
NORV but I have first hand experience watching a country build an economy. I assure you, nobody is coming to Iraq until the laws are in place.
NORV very similar experience happened some 20 years ago with Russia.
Sah Bringing in salt water plants to make the water usable for pumping oil and saving their regular water for the people. They are build to plants right now to change salt water into drinking water.
NORV companies fell for it and invested and then Russia changed the rules and pulled the rug out and took over everything.
NORV So until the laws are in place, nothing with happen with Iraq.
NORV Its all talk at this point.
Sah I hope that does not happen. Japan just signed an investment contract with them and Denmark is going to build it.
NORV These deals come and go. I can name 100s of deals over the last 15 years in iraq. all fell apart when Iraq did nothing.
NORV it is who Iraq is.
Sah They said it would be done same time next year so I guess we will see if it gets done.
NORV My advice is be optimistic, but wait to see REAL results.
Sah Kurds are trying to say Kirkuk is not doing well and needs to be under their jurisdiction. Sudani said they are doing better after they left with their new government. The just want Kirkuk for more voting right in Parliament now that they can not have the oil underneath.
Sah Now Kurds have no Parliament until a new election. Every body corrupt in first batch. I hope the people vote better people in.
Sah I have hope for this country to change and make it.
NORV Iraq thinks it should just happen. That if they create the hype investment will start. But that is not how the world works. Building a new bank building is nice, but there dinar will remain weak until they stabilize the exchange rate, reduce they money supply, pass laws, create an investment environment, follow directives, etc.
NORV All of which they procrastinate.
NORV I had hope to. 16 years ago. But little has been accomplished in that time.
Sah Every body it seems wants something for nothing over there and others do not want the poor people to succeed or have more money. A very difficult environment.
NORV If they keep doing the same crap it will be another 10 years
Sah I hope not.
NORV all tribal
NORV There are tribes in Iraq that do not want change
Sah That is definitely the major problem.
NORV some use counterfeit dinar and keep that dinar circulating within the tribe so they never have to go to a bank
Sah That is sad.
NORV what I could tell you. lol
NORV The story of the real iraq is the reason very little gets done
Sah They changed the bills so that their would be less forgeries.
NORV that doesnt matter if the tribes spend dinar within
Sah I heard a lot of US currency is forgeries over there.
Sah The government has been arresting people the last few years on both currencies for forgeries. It is nice that they are stepping it up.
NORV think about take a state in the US and having their own US dollars forged but spent only with and nobody leaves that state. That is kinda like Iraq.
NORV all that did was stop those who tried to put them in the banking system. The tribes dont care and dinar they use is not in the banking system.
NORV That is why digital is the plan
NORV but it will take time
NORV 70 trillion or more in matresses
Sah Banks going all digital will help lower the corruption. Iraq banks are done and now they are working on Kurdistan. Kurds said it will be three years and CBI said last month it is being done now. Kurds said at least three years for government bills and salaries and CBI said it would all come together at same time. Barzani was not happy.
NORV that is not even the fake dinar
NORV your dreaming
NORV It will take at least another year to go digital in iraq
NORV and at least 2 years to withdrawl paper dinar
Sah CBI has just got done training people in banks In Kurdistan. It is happening now. England and France are helping.
NORV ok, time for me to go. keep the faith!
Sah From 2 million to 16 million are now banking and accounts are digital and atm's are in the thousands now in Iraq.
Sah NORV I am keeping the faith that they do the right thing or step aside and let someone else do the right think.
Sah @NORV Have a nice evening and just stay positive.
Zig Interesting discussion last evening between Sah and NORV Scroll up!....In case you don't know NORV is the well-known @Kaperoni Recently (June 24th) he and @Enorrste held a conference call regarding recent news about Iraq and the Dinar, etc....IMO it was very good....Recording links can be found at https://dinaralert.webs.com/conferencecalls.htm

NORV So I have always stated with the success of Iraq's economy will come the increase of the dinar. Below is some interesting news...

NORV So I have always stated with the success of Iraq's economy will come the increase of the dinar. Below is some interesting news...
NORV The Social Security Law includes many privileges for workers in the private sector
2023-05-18 | Many privileges are included in the Social Security Law, which was voted on by Parliament, while MPs called for the need to educate workers on the importance of registering on social security, as it will reduce the momentum on the public sector.
Fifty years later, the Social Security and Retirement Law for Workers is reborn in Parliament with privileges somewhat similar to the privileges of the public sector represented by health insurance and pensions. The law also includes deterrent penalties for companies that did not register their workers with insurance.
Sixty-three years is the upper limit of the retirement age and with a remunerative service of not less than fifteen years as a minimum. On the other hand, deputies see the need to educate workers by registering on the guarantee, as it will reduce the momentum on the public sector.
NORV This law was passed last weekend with will no allow citizens to work in the private sector without losing losing privileges such as health insurance and pensions. This is criticle to get people off the government payroll and working for the private sector which has been stated already will not only diversify Iraq's economy but rebuild the country.
Zig Interesting...thanks, Kap....NORV is Kaperoni....follow him https://twitter.com/kaperoni
NORV Not done lol
NORV Retirement: The insurance law will provide a salary for more than two million workers in the private sector
May 21 14:17 Information / Baghdad.. The Director General of Retirement and Social Security, Kholoud Hiran, revealed on Sunday the most important advantages of the Social Security and Retirement Law for workers, indicating that the law will provide a pension for more than two million workers during the first years of its implementation.
In an interview with Al-Maalouma Agency, Hiran said, "The government will contribute significantly to paying the salaries of retired workers in the private sector."
She added that "retirement and social security are among the most important legitimate laws, as it will provide the opportunity to grant pensions to about two million Iraqi employers in the private sector."
She pointed out that "the law will include all workers in the private sector, including women," explaining that "the retirement and social security law is one of the most important newly enacted laws, and it has many advantages that make workers compete over the law."
And the Parliamentary Action Committee revealed, earlier, a plan to include about four million insured workers under the Social Security Law. ended 25 h
NORV They plan to launch this law in August. Which in essence means they will launch the private sector at that time. This is big news
Zig Float time soon??....lol
NORV So we can expect significant changes come August to Iraq's economy coming yet this year.
NORV As for they floating, I have always said the float will come as a result of economic growth.
NORV Another key point is Iraq is passing the budget for 3 years (not one like usual) next week.
NORV This will stabilize the economy for 3 years during the implementation and growth of the economy.
NORV And lastly, the new CBI building will be completed in 2024.
UNEEK NORV thanks Kap/NORV
Zig Could be an interesting 12-18 months for this investment
NORV The Central bank is also launching an initiative for the private sector
NORV And finally, here is the CBI stating...By 2025, a qualitative leap in performance awaits the Central Bank
NORV https://alsabaah.iq/76988-.html
NORV So the next couple of years should be very interesting :)
NORV Zig yes! I agree!
NORV the next 12-24 months will be exciting to watch
Zig : OMYGD: Kap agrees with me about something :Thud: lol
NORV Seems they are timing the economy, the banking sector, the opening of the CBI all at the same time.
NORV As for banking, the recent announcement also of removing dollars from the streets of Iraq and making citizens use dinar is a criticle point also to stabilize and create momentum for the dinar.
Professor dinard Go Iraq!
NORV Central Bank: Dealing in Iraqi dinars will extend to the private sector
Central Bank of Iraq April 19, 2023 12:36 PM Mubasher: The Central Bank of Iraq confirmed, yesterday, Tuesday, that the reform package is a major shift for the organized economy, while indicating that dealing in the Iraqi dinar will extend to the private sector.
The bank's advisor, Ihsan Shamran, told the Iraqi News Agency, "INA": "The government supported the reform package launched by the Central Bank," indicating, "There is great harmony between the financial authority and the government."
He added, "Countries whose legal systems are good have an excellent economy because they do not deal in dollars," noting that "companies and government institutions responded, including Iraqi Airways, by relying on the strength of the Iraqi dinar, regardless of the exchange rate."
And he continued, "The public began to deal in the Iraqi dinar as a national currency," explaining, "This will extend to the private sector, including car showrooms, and at a close stage, the furniture and electrical dealer will not need the dollar."
And he stated, "This is considered a real step and a big shift for the organized economy," explaining, "The real value of the dinar that exists now is more than one and a half dinars, because the bank's reserves are very high and therefore the national currency cover is high."

Zig NORV : Thanks again, Kap...oh you're not done....lol
Zig https://twitter.com/kaperoni
Professor dinard How’s Iraq doing nowadays NORV
Zig NORV "Countries whose legal systems are good have an excellent economy because they do not deal in dollars," ..........Wow
NORV They are putting the pieces in place for the economy to grow, the dinar to rise and Iraq to stand up and be a player in the middle east. The CBI building coming in 2024 will also show the world Iraq is ready and I would expect the dinar will not remain weak.
Professor dinard the US dollar went the way of the baby boomer
Zig Professor dinard : Getting interesting in Iraq but who knows....keep your day job....lol
NORV Zig Its a process
NORV time will tell if Iraq succeeds
Zig NORV : :Happier:
NORV but with the help of the IMF and World Bank, it looks good
Professor dinard maybe they’ll come out on top after WW3 with all their oil supplying the war efforts
Zig Professor dinard : If there is a WW3 you can kiss the earth goodbye
Professor dinard Zig i think it’s the closest we’ve been since the Cuban missile crisis
NORV If I am correct, which I am. lol My latest book will come out in 2025 describing the success of the dinar. :Floating:
Professor dinard reminds me of the days before WW2
Zig NORV : Well you have been correct so far....lol
Professor dinard China is the new Japan Russia is the new Germany
NORV You should really all be members at DA..we have some good discussions on all these articles, and latest documents. But then again..i come here and share also.
NORV have fun day. I am off to bet college baseball :Bye: :$$$:
Zig NORV : Well you have to donate which most people won't do IMO
Professor dinard I’m zig chat loyal to the soil
Zig NORV (Kaperoni) mainly is at https://dinaralert.webs.com/ where a monthly donation is required to access the forum threads....I have no idea what the minimum is to do so....
Zig To be clear: I have no problem with anyone making money from providing a website, etc....
Zig NORV : Betting on college baseball??....how can you possibly know enough about that to bet on it??.....lol
Zig :Nice day: Busiest this room has been in a year....
NORV Zig i know plenty about college ball :)
Zig NORV : Who follows college baseball??....lol
NORV Oh and one more thing..Iraq has stated that when they implement the social security law, up to 4 million citizens will move from the gov to the private sector. That is a huge number of people!
Zig I have a hard enough time following the pros
Zig NORV : Wow
NORV College ball is good money :Joyous: :$$$:
Zig 4 million people is about 10% of their population
NORV That is why I believe we should see momentum with the dinar.
NORV This is just a guess of course, but by 2025 the dinar may very well be worth .50 cents or more.
NORV maybe even close to a dollar.
NORV time will tell
Zig : OMYGD: that's all I need....lol
Zig Careful with those predictions or you will attain Guru status.....LOL
Zig Breaking News: Kaperoni predicts the Dinar will hit 1 dollar by 2025!!!.....LOL
NORV lol :Headscratch:

Sheila POSTED SUNDAY, MARCH 19, 2023: Tomorrow is a very exciting day for all of us. We begin our journey into the digital asset-based trading ecosystem through ISO 20022.
The final phase of development in the QFS will be a determination made between stablecoins and digital tokens.
Stablecoins are backed by commodities with a fixed rate of a commodity value placed on them.
Digital Tokens are value derived by the amount of money held in a customer's digital wallet.
The banking system believes that a more stable rate can be placed on digital tokens versus stablecoins.
Both tokens represent stability and security for the holder of them. The commodity system that backs both of these assets is held in the custody of financial institutions who mint them.
When all of the dust is settled on the coming transformation of our markets currently being tokenized, we will then be able to place tangible monetary values on the currency / digital currency sector of the market to support them.
Legislation on our monetary reforms will be formulating and becoming visible this month. As Congress votes on this final process and development of the QFS, we will get a clearer picture as to when and how our currency revaluations will take place around the world.

Sheila POSTED SUNDAY, MARCH 19, 2023, 8:00AM -- "On Monday, 20 March 2023, more than 11,000 institutions in over 200 countries and territories, their vendors and technology teams, and many domestic payments platforms will start their migration to ISO 20022 for payments and related messaging."
This is one of the largest migrations ever taken by a financial institution in the history of our world.
It is a life-changing event that will affect every person around the world.
I want to personally thank each person who has followed me since early last year on this journey to learn about this new digital banking system, but our work is not over just yet.
Once we have this payment system in place that will unify various Payment Systems from all over the world, we can then formulate prices on the digital currency values and currency values going forward.
It is an exciting time for all of us. © Goldilocks https://auspaynet.com.au/insights/blog/ISO20022NewDawn
Sheila So in light of what Goldilocks is saying, it looks like it could be at least 10 maybe up to 30 days for full migration, implementation? Not to mention working out the error codes and patches needed to fully integrate with data and referential integrity?
Zig sheila : We gonna be rich soon?
Sheila Zig Soon... Ish -- lol lol
Zig HOLDING:Breath: LOL
Sheila Zig With mirrored accounts in this new system, then currency revaluations could provide asset backed financial system which we have come to identify as QFS.
Sheila We shall wait and see how this week unfolds.
Zig :Fingerscrossed:
Dave been waiting over 750 weeks fer this to unfold.......whats another week
Zig :Joyous:
Sheila Zig I am quietly excited.
Dave .....ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
butterfly sheila keeping fingers crossed
Zig But seriously.....nothing much excites me in this any longer....but I will remain hopeful
butterfly What excites me is seeing how Iraq has evolved.
Sheila ditto
Dave Now have reliable power?
Dave IQD now 1550?
butterfly Like with a cult mind, it takes years to cleanse. Iraq is learning how to live in a sovereign country when living under a dictatorship for decades.
Sheila paradigm shift
Sheila ripple effect takes time
butterfly a big one sheila
Dave Cult minds......? Where be Ukraine......Asia?
Butterfly I hope the month Ramadan doesn't hold up moving forward in Iraq.
Sheila Dave Only need one linchpin event or shotgun start. Iraq has consistently been touted as the leader of the pack for revaluations/currency reset.
Dave YEPPERS!
Sheila Dave Ukraine ,,, Asia are political hot spots. Iraq is financial hot spot.
Dave Iraq has the most with the least
Zig Dave : Untapped Potential
Dave Tapped with corruption
butterfly Dave every country has corruption
Zig Who let this negative guy in here??....lol
butterfly We are facing a lot of corruption right now
butterfly Zig with negativity you throw positivity
Dave call it hopium?
Dave Iraq listed as one of the most corrupt nations in the world
Sheila Dave Yes, corruption is one aspect of their transition. We are seeing it because of the financial shifts.
butterfly I say we are seeing this because we are invested in their currency. If we weren't, we would have no clue, or no interest in Iraq.
Sheila Dave Believe more good than bad at this point. my opinion only.
Dave sheila Agree
Sheila butterfly shine on
butterfly sheila I agree. We must look at positivity
Dave Manifest destiny....
butterfly antiquities thousand of years old are being discovered. I know that means nothing to most, but it truly does interest me.
`Sah nytimes.com The New York Times BREAKING NEWS Silicon Valley Bank was under scrutiny by the Fed for over a year for risky practices and the bank received repeated warnings. It wasn’t enough.
Sunday, March 19, 2023 12:08 PM ET The bank was using an incorrect model as it assessed its own risks amid rising interest rates, and spent much of 2022 under a supervisory review.
Sah I am so glad the other banks chipped in to save this bank. Etsy banks with this bank. Thousands of people that craft and sell their wares on Etsy would of been affected as Etsy collects the money and takes their commission and then banks the money digitally to the vendors bank account. I am sure they run in the millions that they pay out a week. It would of effected a lot of small businesses and would of been a disaster. Large payrolls were kept at that bank to pay employees. It would of trickled down everywhere.
Dave Lemming effects........? Folks scared pulling monies not a contributing factor?
Sah Dave Large stock holders pulled out billions days before crash. CEO's took out a portion of their holdings days before.
Dave that sounds dicey
Sah Millions of dollars in payroll a week is paid out of that bank.
Dave Mmbership has priviledges i suppose
Sah Ten thousands of people here in California would of not got their paycheck.
Sah Dave Membership has nothing to do with it. How about insider trading? Now that would be a better question.
Dave Sah again being sarcastic.......
Sah Dave Leave your sarcasm at the door. I do not abide by it and it makes you look stupid.
Dave Doh.....
Sah It rubs me the wrong way.
Dave Ouch...Some may now believe that Ukraine not part of Europe as stated by MTG......Think I support that also.?....Many suggest she be brilliant!

Sah sheila Bank of America, Wells Fargo, JP Morgan and Chase were the banks that bailed out SVB.
Sheila Sah ripple effect - minnows to the whales
Sah There might have been a couple more but they are back on track making million dolar payrolls there and Ets which is all in the millions so they were completely covered.y is running there funds thru to pay their sellers. They were completely covered for all their funds.
Sah They popped for 100 percent solvent with their company accounts, now as to their bonds up side down they got a loan from these banks to straighten it out.
Sah The Feds need to stop raising interest rates that make these bonds upside down that the Bank bought when there was low interest rates.
Sah Moral of story for us middle class is not to hold more than $250,000 at one bank and diversify and move the rest to other banks not affiliated. You are insured for that amount by the Federal government. Credit Unions are iffy depending and need to be asked what is insured and what is not.
Sah WATCH: Chinese President Plans To Visit "Best Friend" Putin Next Week In Russia
Written By BlabberBuzz | Sunday, 19 March 2023 Things between the United States and Russia were already tense, but relations have reached a new low after Russia was accused of downing an American drone in the Black Sea. Chinese President Xi Jinping is scheduled to visit his best friend, Vladimir Putin, to show the world his support for Russia.
According to NY Post, “Both China and Russia have confirmed the planned visit, with the Kremlin saying that Xi will be staying in Moscow from Monday to Wednesday at Putin’s ‘invitation.’”
The trip to Moscow will be President Xi Jinping’s first visit outside the country since his third term began. It will also be one of his first meetings with Putin since the situation in Ukraine began. Putin and Jinping became intense allies weeks before troops headed across Ukraine’s borders.
They said they have a partnership that does not have limits, signaling that China will continue to stick by Russia. This has been wonderful for Russia, which has been isolated or sanctioned by large parts of the world since invading Ukraine. Meanwhile, the friendship between the two countries has the United States and Europe concerned.
The United States has constantly cautioned China against sending weapons to Russia, which President Jinping vehemently denies ever doing. However, he does take the time to condemn Western countries for sending billions worth of weapons to Ukraine.
The round of weapons sent to Ukraine will soon include fighter jets. Instead, the Kremlin says this visit builds trust between the two countries, strengthening their partnership. A schedule showed that the two would start the planned trip with a one-on-one meeting and an informal lunch. Per NY Post,
Sah “‘During the talks, topical issues of further development of comprehensive partnership relations and strategic cooperation between Russia and China will be discussed,’ said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.” Peskov also stated that the two would exchange views and sign documents but did not provide specific details. Recently, China expressed concern over war escalating due to Russia taking down an American drone.
While Americans keep a close eye on this newfound friendship, we should remember that China calls for peace in Ukraine. Last month, China published a plan to end the Ukraine situation. China has also encouraged negotiations between the two countries, so President Xi Jinping can help stop the situation in Ukraine. "Then, the first live transactions will be carried out. Throughout the day, checks are made to ensure that all payments with the correct information reach the correct recipients. Only in the course of Monday will it be possible to determine whether the migration has run without errors."

The Governor of the Central Bank, Ali Al-Alaq, announced that a second package will be issued in the middle of this month to control the exchange rate, while stressing that there are no internal or external restrictions on external transfers or cash sales of dollars.
As for the House of Representatives, it is witnessing political attempts to set the exchange rate of the dollar at a rate lower than the parallel market rate, ranging from 135 to 137 due to the damage caused by the change in the exchange rate and the rise in prices.
The head of the Parliamentary Rights Bloc said that the exchange rate will be lower than the previous rate and set in this year’s budget to be between 135 to 137.
He added that the political forces that formed this government according to a political agreement and a platform that did not include this issue endeavors to determine the exchange rate according to a ceiling lower than the current one to confront This crisis is taking place seriously, ruling out hosting the prime minister as a result of satisfaction with the government measures taken, changing the governor of the central bank on the government measures taken, changing the governor of the central bank and a set of measures on the ground whose results we are awaiting. https://www.ninanews.com/Website/News/Details?key=1031644

Butterfly Well this is interesting: Iran reveals an underground air force base ‘Eagle 44’, IRNA says TEHRAN,— Iran on Tuesday revealed an underground air force base, called “Eagle 44” and the first of its kind large enough to house fighter jets, the official IRNA news agency said.
The “Eagle 44” base is capable of storing and operating fighter jets and drones, IRNA said. The report did not elaborate on the location of the base.
IRNA said it was one of the country’s most important air force bases, built deep underground, housing fighters equipped with long-range cruise missiles.
In May, Iran’s army gave details about another underground base, which houses drones, as the country seeks to protect military assets from potential air strikes by regional arch foe Israel.

butterfly After it exceeded (1800) dinars.” The Council of Ministers approves the amendment of the exchange rate of the dollar https://khabaar.press/archives/110846
Today, Tuesday, the Cabinet approved amending the exchange rate of the US dollar to be at 1,300 dinars.
A brief statement by the media office of the Council of Ministers stated that the Council of Ministers approved the decision of the Board of Directors of the Central Bank of Iraq to amend the exchange rate of the dollar against the dinar, at the equivalent of 1,300 dinars to one dollar.
This comes after the exchange rate of the dollar against the dinar rose to unprecedented levels, as it exceeded in some days the price of 1800 dinars per dollar.
Since the first month of the new government taking over the administration of the country, the exchange rate of the US dollar against the Iraqi dinar witnessed an upward rise, to exceed 1,500 dinars per dollar before the end of last year .
Since the beginning of this year, the exchange rate of the dollar has witnessed sudden jumps, as it crossed the threshold of 1,600 dinars to the dollar, and it remained fluctuating during the month of last January in the square of 1,600, but during the month of February, the dollar crossed the barrier of 1,700 dinars, and in some days it approached 1,800 dinars per dollar.
These booms and fluctuations prompted the government and the Central Bank of Iraq to take several measures in an attempt to control the exchange rate, but they have not achieved anything so far, while some say that the dollar exchange rate may continue with this rise . ttps://khabaar.press/archives/110846

Sah A parliamentarian announces new measures from the Central Bank to reduce the dollar exchange rate Member of Parliament Baqir Kazim revealed on Saturday the new measures taken by the Central Bank in order to reduce the exchange rate in the local markets, while stressing that the rise in the price of the dollar will decline within a month from now.
Kazem said that "the Central Bank is working to form a new credit department to import goods in order to control the parties that used to monopolize the dollar in the local markets," noting that "these measures came after the exacerbation of smuggling operations in the previous period, which led to the rise that is happening now."
He continued, "The rise in the exchange rate these days will not last more than a month after the new procedures that are being implemented by the Central Bank," noting that "the latter will work to sell the dollar to traders in the department of new credits and at subsidized prices directly."
He noted that "the reason for the rise is that many traders transfer millions of dollars to banks and fake companies working to smuggle it out of Iraq," stressing that "the exchange rate after the new measures will settle on 146 thousand Iraqi dinars for 100 dollars."
The Prime Minister called for "opening the file of currency auction, exchange rate and the state of chaos in the markets within the agenda of the next Cabinet meeting and taking immediate and urgent measures to address this file, which has become an intolerable door from the doors of corruption and waste of public money."
The Finance Committee in the House of Representatives attributed earlier the reasons for the rise in the price of the dollar against the Iraqi dinar to the pressure exerted by the US Federal Reserve on the Central Bank of Iraq. https://khabaar.press/archives/106158
Sah "Electronic platform" and international oversight of corruption. The secret of the rise in the dollar exchange in Iraq
Several weeks ago, the Iraqi market recorded a rise in the exchange rates of the dollar against the dinar, to unprecedented levels, which the Central Bank of Iraq attributes to several factors, most notably the start of work on an "electronic platform".
Although the dollar exchange rate is officially set at 1,460 Iraqi dinars, the current rates are about 1,545 dinars to the dollar.
The Iraqi Central Bank described in a statement, Thursday, the rise as "simple", while the office of Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, in a separate statement, said that the rise in the exchange rate "is temporary", stressing that Iraq's financial situation is at its best.
The Central Bank of Iraq had devalued the dinar in December 2020 from 1182 dinars against the dollar, to 1460 dinars, in a move aimed at compensating for the decline in oil revenues at the time.
In statements to Alhurra, Iraqi economists questioned the justifications of the Iraqi Central Bank, pointing to fears that the exchange rate may continue to increase during the coming period, which may mean that Iraq will enter a new phase of inflation, especially with its dependence on imports "in everything." Although "Iraq's financial situation is at good levels," experts point out that what was known as the "theft of the century" had consequences that affected the movement of liquidity and remittances, and prompted an "unjustified" increase in exchange rates.
Iraqi authorities exposed the "theft of the century" after an internal audit by the Finance Ministry showed fraud of about 3.7 trillion Iraqi dinars ($2.5 billion).
Sah "Not a few levels"
The Iraqi economist, Mahmoud Dagher, said that "exchange rates in Iraq have reached levels not few, according to official statements, as they reached levels of 1545 dinars to the dollar of remittances instead of 1460 dinars as specified by the Central Bank, and 1504 dinars to the dollar cash."
Dagher, a former official in the Central Bank of Iraq, told Alhurra that "the reasons for the rise in exchange rates are not due to poor coverage in meeting the needs of the local market, but rather because of technical conditions that caused confusion in the arrival of remittances to their destination."
He pointed out that "the controls imposed by the US Federal Reserve should have been paid attention to by the Iraqi Central Bank and the request that they be implemented gradually, so as not to create problems in the Iraqi market."
MP Jamal Kojar, a member of the Finance Committee in the Iraqi parliament, explained that "the US Federal Reserve had taken special decisions after the issue of money smuggling and corruption of some banks in Iraq, as seven banks were excluded from participating in currency auctions, and a greater emphasis was imposed on remittances that were not subject to any audit."
He added in response to inquiries by Alhurra that there is "a loss of confidence and control in the Central Bank of Iraq, which caused the prosperity of the parallel exchange market to create a black market that benefits individuals who control prices amid the lack of intervention to prevent such practices."
According to a statement by the Central Bank of Iraq, a source said that one of the reasons for the rise in exchange rates is "building an electronic platform through which banks raise their customers' requests, which the Central Bank began months ago to build in coordination with international bodies for the purpose of provisions and regulating the operations of the sale and purchase of foreign currency and ensuring the effectiveness of control over them."
Sah "A specialized international company has been commissioned to build it and link banks with the central bank through it, and the platform requires providing information on customers requesting transfers, beneficiaries and correspondent banks," he added.
"Due to the novelty of using this platform, many errors are being discovered and require the bank to reload them, and these procedures take additional time to accept the application and pass it through the global financial system."
The academic, Iraqi economist Abdul Rahman al-Mashhadani, said that "the statement of the Central Bank is not convincing, there may be confusion in dealing with a new electronic platform, but this matter should not cause confusion that raises exchange rates to record levels.
" Al-Mashhadani believes in a telephone interview with Alhurra that what is happening now is due to the fact that "the US Federal Reserve imposed amendments to the SWIFT remittance procedures, which include an audit of the source of funds until the final future, which came after the consequences of the theft of the century, which revealed schemes to smuggle money."
"Four banks that accounted for about 40 percent of the sales of the currency auction window were excluded and punished, and this caused a shortage of foreign currency for some dealers dependent on these banks, which prompted them to rely on the parallel market," al-Mashhadani said, noting that this does not "mean that there is a dilemma of dollar scarcity at the Iraqi Central Bank, whose reserves of this currency exceed more than $ 90 billion.
" The Central Bank of Iraq confirmed in its statement that the reserves "and the solvency of the state in general are in excellent condition and at their best levels in decades, and that the current supply of foreign currency is not linked to resources, but to administrative and auditing procedures."
Sah The adviser to the Central Bank of Iraq, Ihsan Shamran Al-Yasiri, had explained in remarks quoted by the Iraqi News Agency "INA" on Wednesday the mechanism of work of the foreign currency sales platform, and said, "The Central Bank recently created a platform for the currency sale window to which licensed banks raise requests to buy in the name of people and the names are considered over a week and the bank decides its position a day before the date of the auction of the sale of currency submitted for purchase after applying conditions that include people submitting requests to buy dollars to licensed banks
The name of the seller and the name of the person requesting the purchase must be proved, and the name of the person requesting the purchase must be mentioned, and the name is entered into a global system called (OFAC) to indicate whether it is required or problematic, as well as communicating with the seller of the imported goods to verify its dealings with the person requesting the purchase of the dollar.
He added that "the US Federal Reserve has set strict conditions recently obliging us to display lists of dollars sold to it that include the names of people and beneficiaries, and wait 15 days to state its position on the integrity of the purchase process to the requesting party, and the sale process stops if the Federal Bank objects to a specific name because it is required, there is a similarity of names, or there is a suspicion of the purpose of buying the dollar."
Sah Al-Yasiri revealed that "the US Federal Reserve is in the process of adding 3 supervisory bodies to the sale of the dollar to check its destination after the sale, and they say that they are checking to prevent its access to terrorist or banned parties, and because of these conditions and limitations, the Central Bank cannot provide dollars to all those who request it,
what happens crowding and we are obligated and in the interest of Iraq to apply these standards to prevent a decision to stop the flow of dollars to Iraq because it will cause a disaster and the sale of dollars in Iraq is subject to strict control from the US Federal Reserve because it is the issuer to the dollar."
Avoiding an exchange rate crisis The Iraqi Central Bank identified a few measures to push for the stability of exchange rates, including "expanding the foreign exchange supply to meet the public's demand for cash dollars, and the window management was directed to meet the requests of banks for the coming days faster by implementing double requests, and a preferential rate was given for the implementation of documentary credits, and for the purpose of covering local demand."
The head of the Iraqi Economic Council, Ibrahim al-Baghdadi, expressed his support for the measures of the "Central Bank of Iraq", and said that "the application of any new system may cause a defect, and that the imposition of strict decisions from the US Federal Reserve confused monetary policy in Iraq.
" Al-Baghdadi called in an interview with Alhurra to "coordinate more between the US Federal Reserve and the Central Bank of Iraq, so that the Iraqi economy is not affected, and in the end the burden will be borne by the citizen who suffers from erosion in income."
The Iraqi economy "is directly affected by any exchange rate hike, especially since the country's production depends on inputs imported entirely from outside the country", he said.
Sah Economist Dagher agrees with this view, explaining that "the continued rise in the exchange rate will make the Iraqi citizen face additional burdens, especially since the biggest problem is related to the exchange rate of the remittance dollar, especially since Iraq imports everything from abroad."
MP Kojar identified the repercussions of the exchange rate increase on the Iraqi economy with "four effects": first, the increase in costs for the Iraqi citizen and high inflation, second, confusion in the local Iraqi market, third, the fear of investors and employers in the private sector from developing their investment plans for the coming period, especially since they depend on imports of goods that are paid in foreign currency, and fourth, the continued rise may lead the Iraqi economy to recession due to uncertainty amid the lack of convincing answers from the official authorities.
Koger called for greater coordination between fiscal and monetary policy in the country, explaining that this does not mean "interference in the powers of the central bank, whether by deputies or politicians who rely in their directives on the interest of the parties they represent," and added that "it is necessary not to exploit what is happening to raise electoral slogans to satisfy party bases."
The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani, had confirmed in early November that "changing the exchange rate of the Iraqi dinar against the dollar is the prerogative of the Central Bank, and we are committed to implementing what the Central Bank sees," which some considered a retreat from previous promises and positions to reduce the exchange rate.
Sah Economist Al-Mashhadani praises the idea of leaving it to the Central Bank of Iraq, noting that "the law of the Central Bank determines the authority to formulate monetary policy in the bank only, but this does not prevent coordination with the country's fiscal policy makers."
The government affirmed in a statement Thursday "its commitment to maintaining the stability of the local market, by supporting the stability of the exchange rate of the dollar against the Iraqi dinar, and it supports the steps of the Central Bank in this regard."
The Iraqi government called on "all dealers, including investors and traders, to cooperate with banks and the Central Bank by working in accordance with the commercial contexts in force globally, and importing under documentary credits, as they provide a guarantee for the importer, preserve his rights, insure imported goods, and enable him to benefit from banking facilities to cover the value of the credit."
The IMF said in a statement on December 7 to enhance financial stability, accelerate the implementation of basic banking systems, and embark on restructuring major government banks as a very important priority.
At the time, the IMF announced that it supports the central bank's efforts to strengthen transaction control through foreign exchange auctions, its plans to explore alternative trade financing mechanisms to facilitate it, and recommends the development of liquidity management tools to support better exchange rate stability. Sah The Yazidi representative of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Mahma Khalil Ali Agha, called today, Sunday, Prime Minister Muhammad al-Sudani to start implementing Article 140 of the Iraqi constitution, according to what was stated in his government program that he presented to the political forces.
Ali Agha said, in a statement, that the application of Article 140 of the constitution solves the problems accumulated for more than 60 years, and it represents a legitimate right to restore the usurped rights of citizens living in the areas covered by this article, noting that "the Iraqi constitution draws a road map to solve this article." Despite attempts by some of those who do not respect the constitution and people's rights to target this article.
He added, "The Iraqi citizens living in the areas covered by this article have been subjected to injustice and marginalization since the change of the monarchy until the present day, especially at the time of the defunct regime, but the articles of the constitution remain and the road map for the return of rights remains, in order to recover these usurped rights.
" "The Federal Court issued a binding decision for all, that Article 140 remains and that the issue of restoring rights is a national legal duty, and this matter is accomplished through the completion of the three phases of Article (normalization - census - population census)".
The prestige of the state and its institutions and gives a distorted and defective internal and external message, so respecting the will of the people and their constitutional right is within the ministerial program of Mr. Sudanese.
Sah Agha: Al-Sudani called for the formation of a temporary parliamentary committee to consider the issues of Article 140 in order to obtain rights and pay the dues of citizens in the covered areas and to revive, renew and grant the powers of the old committees formed to look into files, indicating, “The citizens of this article are the most harmful people from ISIS and from corruption and injustice of the defunct regime.” https://www.ninanews.com/Website/News/Details?key=1020979

Dave Kap has not Skipped a beat....
Dave 14 yrs......ouch!
Sah Dave They could not sign off because Kuwait was still collecting, and Iraq said they over paid. The IMF did an audit and found out Iraq over paid and Kuwait had to pay them back 8 million dollars, just this past few weeks ago. They reported to UN and they are signing of now on Chapter 7.
Dave yes!
Dave no Global nodda while under Ch7

Sah Dave Kuwait would not sign off because they thought Iraq had not paid them everything and Iraq said they did. That is why they did an audit. Iraq did not forget to sign off, Kuwait did because they thought they owed more money.
Dave was some chatter about the WTO......5 mos ago....
Sah They have been monitoring the WTO for a few years on invitation. They cannot join until they have international currency.
Dave Ch 7 stuff from 1 yr ago.....finally figured it out
Dave Sah GO IRAQ!
Dave Ch 7 what a bummer.....
Sah Not there yet but heading in the right direction. Things seem to be coming together a lot faster in their country. I hope it continues. Now if they could just learn to keep their currency stable and not vary off 2 percent.
Dave my broken crystal ball tells me he closer we get the more the Kurds w2ill moan
Dave 2% compliance with rate changes.....
Dave whippy we now at 1500.00 fom 1186
Sah They changed the rate last year and devalued their currency to be able to pay their employees. When oil went up, they had more money to pay but did not change rate back because IMF said you cannot just claim rate and devalue and change it and now want it back.
Since then they are not doing a good job of maintaining their rate which they need to get their act together. The currency auctions can help them maintain their rate, so they are going to liquidate more foreign currency to add value. They are not doing a float right now they are going to control it with the currency auctions.
Sah They need to work on getting this going in the right direction.
Dave Sah Hence the chatter about art 140
Dave Who gets what????
Dave Lots and lots of oil in those disputed territories
Sah Dave The article 140 discussion is not going to happen. The federal court ruled that it was voted on by Kurdistan and not by the Iraq parliament. They are trying to push it through. It needs to be completely redone. It is in favor of Kurdistan and not for Iraq. It is a big mess.
Kurds are taking it to be heard right now to supreme court. They could overrule but they won't because it is not in favor of the Iraqi people. Kurds keep trying to foist their laws they vote in Kurdistan on all of Iraq with out their approval and say it is the law when the judicial said it is illegal what they did.
Sah I have to go.

TWW AS I posted last night, read between the lines: " central bank advisor, Ihsan al-Yasiri, said, “For the first time, the central bank’s reserves exceeded the threshold of 90 billion dollars, as this number is very large and indicates a barrier to the recovery of the economy and a great support for the value of the Iraqi currency,” noting that “the value of the Iraqi currency or the balance exceeded 160.” %, as the value of the Iraqi dinar amounted to more than one and a half dinars. https://dinarrecaps.com/our-blog/iraqi-news-saturday-evening-12-3-22
TWW Im glad I AM NOT A GURU. Thanx for reminding me KAP
NORV TWW TWW What you posted is not as important as what the prime minister told the Central Bank to do today. Yes, 90 billion dollars in reserves is good and 160% in value (if 3 zeros were removed/LOP) is important, but it does not mean there is a RV coming. In fact, I state again, with over 83 trillion dinar in circulation (with 3 zeros), there is no RV. No country could ever afford to cover such a large money supply with a exchange rate at or near 1 to $1.
That being said, this is good news and we will explain it all this Saturday night on the conference call... www.dinaralert.webs.com/conferencecalls.htm
UNEEK For all hopefuls - but still rumor until proven otherwise: MZ: From Iraq…..we have a rate. We do not have a fixed rate…we literally have a floating rate now. And based on the market at the end of each day now. This is enormous news. You should be like jumping out of your boots over this one.
MZ: This is a analysis from a number of contacts….What it looks like they are going to do is give us 1160 …this is about a 20% increase in the value of your dinar. Then at the end of each market day they will readjust according to the spread in the market…..They tell us this in articles.
MZ: “Government official: Dollar exchange rate will fall and its impact in a week” I am being told it is looking to start the float around 1160+ ….and the rate will be looked at each day. This is massive progress coming out of Iraq.
MZ: This makes sense as to whats best for the Iraqi people. This is a slow grind to the top and I am told it will not affect our contract rate as it is based on the “Oil for Dinar” contracts. So even if the rate takes awhile to get to where we want it….it has now started.
They have now announced that it has started. There is no more “Waiting for this to go” We can log in daily starting this week and see the new rates. Most likely starting sometime tomorrow. Expect the float to go fast. I am very excited about the news out of Iraq.
UNEEK And another: Holly posted this: Frank26: Frank came in late and said the 5th is the seed for the 6th. Delays don’t exist anymore….The red in his suit tonight stands for red alert!!!
Zig NORV : Now a reminder: I know you are going to rip that Guru stuff to shreds....lol....just don’t shoot the :Messenger:
UNEEK Parliamentary: Discussions And Dialogues To Reconsider The Exchange Rate Of The Dollar
Political | 02:44 - 05/12/2022 Special - Mawazine News, the representative of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Najwa Hamid, confirmed the parliament's move towards reconsidering the exchange rate of the dollar.
Hamid told Mawazine News, "There are discussions and dialogues between members of the House of Representatives, and the Finance Committee specifically, to reconsider the exchange rate of the dollar, and we imagine that an appropriate price will be maintained."
And she continued, "The rapid rise led to a clear economic deterioration, due to the failure to study the negatives and positives about the matter, so there is a real necessity to restore the exchange rate of the dollar." https://www.mawazin.net/Details.aspx?jimare=213288
Doug_W UNEEK fingers crossed BUT not holding my breath
Sah Special - Mawazine News MP for the Kurdistan Democratic Party Najwa Hamid confirmed the House of Representatives' move to reconsider the dollar exchange rate.
Hamid told Mawazine News that "there are discussions and dialogues between members of the House of Representatives, and the Finance Committee specifically to review the exchange rate of the dollar, and we imagine that an appropriate rate will be maintained."
"The rapid rise has led to a clear economic deterioration, due to the lack of study of the negatives and positives about the matter, so there is a real need to restore the exchange rate of the dollar," she said. Finished 29/N33 www.mawazin.net/Details.aspx?jimare=213288
Sah I think that the Dinar devalued the other day to 1495 and people complained that they are not doing a good job at maintaining it. I think now that they have to manage it and get it back to the rate it was from the other day. They need to learn to maintain their rate and hold it. They may be trying to bring it back, maybe they do a managed float to the rate from the other day or keep it going till 1160
NORV Sah it was clear in the last Article IV Consultation with Iraq that they are pegged to the dollar. Until Iraq creates the conditions, passes laws, encourages investment for a diverse economy they will not float. No country that's totally dependent on oil exports alone could survive a float. The dinar will remain weak until that happens.
NORV Zig not really Zig it's just gurus and misconceiving what they mean. First of all you need to understand how the daily auctions work not only are they a source of dollars to pay for imports but the auction serve a very important purpose to maintain stability of the exchange rate in the country it's a balance between dollar and dinar.
So in recent days the new prime minister has asked the central bank to increase the liquidity of dollars. Otherwise to liberalize the foreign exchange. This will weaken the dollar but will strengthen the dinar. They will do this to stabilize the exchange rate within 2% for IMF guidelines and improve its value slightly for citizens. There will be no significant RV.
Even though the gurus tell you otherwise. More than likely I expected to go back down to about 1170 to$1. Also remember if Iraq ever wants to accept IMF article 8 and open their banking system for more International transition and transactions they have to maintain that stability at 2% for at least 90 days.
Shabibi had it stable for a year before he was ready to transition but Maliki ran them out of the country. There was also a few other occurrences over the years with other governors where there was stability.
NORV UNEEK and this article is true that dinar street value now is a little over 1490 which is just outside the compliance of 2% required by the IMF based on a 1460 exchange rate. So they're going to liberalize the dollars in the marketplace making them readily available for citizens and as a result the dinar will strengthen slightly. They won't go too far with it my guess is it'll be right around 1170 again.
The conditions in Iraq just aren't appropriate yet for them to open up and Float the dinar and allow it to rise any further they need a lot of economic changes yet and development. Not to mention over 100 stalled laws to encourage investors. This is a good step though because it'll appease the citizens and it should also encourage additional banking activity.
NORV A lot of gurus like to make up stories about them reducing the dinar. But they are not significantly doing so in fact it's well over 83 trillion dinar still in circulation. And for a fact they cannot significantly reduce it because as I stated the exchange rate is a balance between dinar and dollar through the daily auctions.
So as long as they maintain the daily auctions there will be very little change in the exchange rate. Iraq needs to develop their banking system to a point where they can abandon the daily currency auctions before any significant change will happen.
Zig NORV : :Thankyou: ....The Gurus will see it increasing in value and jump on that saying it is going to take off now....As Frankie said "Red Alert" time.....lol
Dave NORV How about a nickle?
Zig Dave : How about a pickle?
Zig Sah : I think Kaperoni knows what he is talking about....too bad....LOL
Dave BIG words cause confusinn?
Dave 00067 to 1 dollar....delete 3 zeros....new notes cost a dime each to mint....Lil less fer them fils.....
Dave Coke gonna drop their price point?
Sah Zig He is correct about the within two percent for at least 90 days before they can except article 8. I think it will go down to 1160 and stabilize there. CBI will be flooding the market with USD to bring it down. Vietnam has done a managed float before, but they are already international.
Sah Dave Just more value for their Dinar against the dollar. The Dinar will stretch a little to buy more.
Dave Sah BINGO that!
NORV Dave Unlikely until the create the conditions to diversify their economy. Lots of work still to do Dave.
NORV Dave If they execute the option to delete zeros, you won't like the outcome. MY bet is they will gradually raise it over time based on economic success, otherwise no need for 20,000 dinar note.

Butterfly The Central Bank announced today, Friday, that the cash reserves exceeded 160% of the value of the Iraqi dinar.
"The central bank's reserves exceeded for the first time the threshold of 90 billion dollars, which is a very large number, and represents an indication of the recovery of the Iraqi economy, and a great support for the value of the Iraqi currency," said the Central Bank's advisor, Ihsan al-Yasiri, in a statement to the official agency.
He added: "The Iraqi currency is now witnessing a great rise and recovery, as it is one of the strong international currencies, although it is not an international currency for circulation."
Al-Yasiri explained: "The government and the Ministry of Finance have an opportunity to support the fragile and poor groups and retirees with low salaries and those covered by social protection and retirees through these funds by allocating part of them within the 2023 budget."

Sheila @TWW Both links informative ... something good this way comes.
TWW Announced, Nov 22,22, in Iraq for incountry exchange rate: dinar is worth 1.5 times of current value. Glory days rate was $3.22usd + half rate $1.61usd = $4.83usd?? Plan for internation rate mid jan 2023.Reposted without above link thanx to Zig
Zig TWW : I wish I could believe what you posted above....you know who is going to go after you for posting that, right??....lol
TWW Zig Again Thanx, yes I kno who is going to kick me around. Remember who I was treated years ago when I post abt Kuwait?? Thats cool. not who but *how I was treated.
Zig @NORV: Now be nice if you comment about what TWW posted please....thanks....
NORV Zig It's all nonsense. There is no RV or even a new rate. The rate is what it is..1460. There will be no change until Iraq passes laws, encourages investment in the private sector and begins to diversify. Only then can Iraq begin to float the dinar and allow it rise. This is how monetary policy work. This is how a currencies value is determined by supply and demand. This the only way Iraq can reduce the money supply (which is currently over 80 trillion dinar). What TWW is doing is posting BS, guru nonsense. Sorry, but he is misleading people.
NORV If you read the most recent talk about a 20,000 dinar note it also reflects the plan to gradually raise the value, reduce the money supply and subsequently gradually introduce new lower notes. The only other alternative has been stated by Iraq which is a currency exchange or LOP. Which everyone knows provides very little gain on the dinar. Something we do not want to see happen and would require parliament approval prior to doing so.
NORV Key points in this article from the CBI are... "the 20,000 dinars category is an intermediate currency between 25,000 and 10,000, as it will have a role in redrawing the structure of banknotes," and "This currency is issued at the end of 2023."
NORV We know one thing for fact..If the 20,000 dinar note is not coming out until end of 2023 there is no RV, or increase in value until at least then. And we also know they are giving the government a year to do what I mentioned above passing laws etc. to begin to create the conditions developing/diversifying their economy.
Sah NORV Nice article. Is the 20,000 still hibernating or is it on the streets now or in 2023?
Sah I question that article because I thought they were already out on the streets.
NORV No, not out yet. There is no need for it at this time. I assume the CBI expects the gov to do it's job first.
NORV the 20,000 dinar note as stated by the central bank is a step towards redrawing the structure of banknotes.
Sah A lot of the locals over there complain that is hard to make change there. Maybe the 20,000 will help.
NORV That to me means they will gradually over time as the dinar rise small notes
NORV well it either going to a gradual transition as the economy grows (which could take several years) with new notes or they will execute the neutral event LOP.
NORV In either case, Iraq must reduce the money supply significantly if they ever want to add value to the dinar.
Sah Does not Lopping cause double digit inflation if they do that?
NORV no
NORV many countries have exchanges currency. I still think it is unlikely they would execute it, but it is very possible.
NORV exchanged
Sah Is there any disadvantage to lopping? I thought there was?
NORV That being said, Their actions imply they will raise it gradually over time as the IMF stated years ago.
NORV Sah The main dissadvantage would be investor confidence in the banking system
NORV And we know Iraq is working hard to create confidence. Therefore, again, I think it is unikely they would do a currency exchange
NORV Investing in the dinar in my view is a long play. based on Iraq's behavior it could be another 10 years for them to get their shit together
Sah I have witnessed high inflation after a Lop on countries that have done that. Does not feel very stable.
NORV Hopefully not..but we have not seen Iraq pass a significant economic law in 4 years
NORV Despite what many try to say about the IMF and Iraq doing what they want and the IMF is not in change etc. The truth is, Iraq has followed all directives from the IMF so far.
NORV So I am betting on the IMF directive from 2013..
NORV staff encouraged the authorities to consider creating the conditions which would make possible a move to a more flexible exchange rate policy. Such flexibility could allow a predictable and gradual appreciation of the nominal exchange rate, triggered by strong oil revenues and the Balassa-Samuelson effect, to accommodate a possible real exchange rate appreciation while keeping domestic inflation low.”
Sah There are about more than 50 on the books that are waiting for their second reading or have already been passed and read but not posted into law. What happened to all of those?
NORV And to be honest, the actions so far from the CBI seem to be more in line with that directive than anything else.
NORV Sah closer to 100 laws outstanding.
Sah Is the CBI of Iraq owned by the Rothchilds. Are not most banks owned by someone other than the government?
NORV No idea other than political/tribal conflict keeping them from passing.
NORV Google results claim 100% state ownership
NORV in any case, the IMF is there for a reason and that reason is the mitigate and guide the global banking system
NORV So if Iraq wants in the game, they have to follow the directives.
Sah The IMF has been there for years working with them and the World Bank also.
NORV Of course. The IMF, World Bank are part of the UN.
Sah I do not know why Iraq is always trying to change the rules with the IMF and tries to walk away and get thier own way but the bottom line is they can't. They need them.
year of they were planning a currency exchange. This is just one of many hints they are following the directly to "allow a predictable and gradual appreciation"
NORV directive
Sah Iraq wants to be international so they have no chioce to follow the rules.
NORV Not so sure Iraq wants to be international. In some cases yes...but the many tribes that are happey with stealing do not want change.
Sah I was glad to hear the the UK Banks stepped in to help bring thier CBI up to par digitally.
NORV Iraq is a slow moving turtle at best. To much to oversome
NORV There are at least 3 different parties creating conflict with growth and integration..The crooks are #1
NORV #2 are tribes that do not want change
Sah A couple years ago Iraq applied to IMF for article 8 and was reviewed and told they had to do a list of things before the could submit thier application. I am still waiting for that list to be completed.
NORV #3 are various political parties controlled by the various tribes.
NORV This is well documented by the IMF and world bank in their reports.
NORV Even the World Bank was shocked by the behavior of Maliki several years back.
Sah They were told to control the corruption. Pass laws for it which they did and then did not implement it for years. When half of parliament is corrupt it is hard to implement these laws.
NORV This is a candid response from the World Bank...
NORV There has been a major change in CBI management with the appointment of a new Governor. On October 14, 2012 an Iraqi judiciary issued an arrest warrant against the Governor of CBI, Dr. Sinan Al-Shabibi. Consequently, the Iraqi government appointed Dr. Abdul-Baset Turki, the Head of BSA, as an Acting Governor of CBI, after the court ruling ordered the removal of Dr. Shabibi from his post.
The World Bank has received an official letter dated October 21, 2012, notifying management of such a change, since the CBI is the implementing entity of this project. Dr. Shabibi, who is currently out of the country, and more than a dozen other officials at the institution are being investigated for misleading monetary policies, as well as alleged improprieties involving capital requirements for local banks and foreign-currency auctions overseen by the central bank.
It is worth noting that the replacement of the Governor of CBI by the Head of BSA, could affect project implementation, and possible delays with the change in management. Following this decision, the team has met the Iraqi authorities, to ensure irreversibility of the reform program, and smooth implementation of the project.
NORV This is key... Following this decision, the team has met the Iraqi authorities, to ensure irreversibility of the reform program, and smooth implementation of the project.
NORV Basically they told Maliki, you can get rid of Shabibi, but your not going to stop the banking reforms But we see, some 10 years later...Maliki did in fact stop progress
NORV This is why there can be no prediction on how long economic reforms will take. And with no reforms there will be no increase in value.
NORV Well I got things to do. Have a good night.
Sah Thanks for the information. I am surprised that Maliki has lasted this long. I am sure because he is very rich and somehow still gets his way.

NORV Sparky How are you going to reval 82 trillion dinar? lol That would be 2.5 times the total US debt at 30 trillion.
Sparky ... I personally think the PTB in Iraq are happy with the status qou ..
NORV Sparky of course it is.
NORV many years ago I met a vet who was in Iraq.. He told the outline tribes all counterfeited the dinar. Had no reason to use banks and paid each other within the tribe with the fake currency. It was fine as long as the dinar was used with the tribe.
butterfly Interesting conversation. Lets just say that the RV has happened but there are two countries still holding up the RV to happen to those two countries. Would your opinions change then?

butterfly Interesting conversation. Lets just say that the RV has happened but there are two countries still holding up the RV to happen to those two countries. Would your opinions change then?
NORV That needs to be all cleaned up before they ever could consider international dealings.
wdave1 My only concern when I first found a chat room was to ask people to keep this to themselves. Lose your own money.
NORV butterfly There is no RV. Come to me when you can explains how they could RV with 82 trillion dinar.
Zig wdave1 : Well we don't advise anyone to buy any currency
Sparky Zig ... no risk, no reward ...
butterfly NORV did I mention Iraq?
wdave1 Zig Someone brought everyone into this. Many someones.
NORV butterfly fantasy
Zig :Nonsense:
butterfly NORV ???
NORV butterfly The idea of a significant RV
Zig wdave1 : True....people brought others in....I did not
butterfly wdave1 there was article years back that said keep buying the dinar, you are helping Iraq.
NORV It goes against the principals of the central bank
NORV butterfly Of course..they needed dollars for reserves. So any chance they could to sell dinar for dollars was good for them
NORV That does not mean they are going to magically reward you for buying dinar lol
Zig LOL
butterfly Amazing that people are only focusing on the dinar.
Zig Do you believe in magic??.....Poof you're swimming in :$$$:
Sparky NORV ... steady growth makes sense, after the hurdles of the current regime are overthrown ... many in Iraq are young and smart ...
NORV It is my hope eventually Iraq will reward those who hold dinar. Not by a RV, but by the success of their economy. When the economy grows so does the dinar via float
NORV Zig lol
Zig Sparky : Steady and inching along like a snail....
NORV Zig Dubai's economy took off
NORV Think they built Dubai in 10-15 years
Sparky ... I think things could move swiftly with the right people in charge ...
NORV Iraq needs to take a page out of their playbook
butterfly Things are happening, just stay the course.
Zig The right people are a scarcity Sparky
Zig Too many of the old guard remain Sparky
butterfly Exposure is being brought forth. Stay the course.
Zig Hurry up, will ya!!!.....
NORV The problem is that even the new younger politicians start out with intentions and over time see how the old corrupt do it and want the same, So no change.
Zig NORV : Yeah
butterfly Stay the course, things are happening.
Zig BS
Sparky NORV ... again, you're making too much sense ...
Zig Sparky : Aggravating that he makes so much sense
Sparky Zig ... yup ...
NORV I will begin to get excited when I see parliament pass the important laws that have been stalled for years.
butterfly You will be excited. Stay the course.
NORV There are like 20 stalled economic laws that will encourage investment
Zig NORV : I know...nothing will happen until they pass those laws....investors need protections. etc
Sparky ... Iran has some major Shiite going on, maybe reflect on our speculation ... Maliki = Iran ...
NORV gotta go. Have some Pizza today :Cooking: :Pizza:
butterfly Be prepared changes are coming.
Sparky butterfly ... my bank account could use a significant boost ...
butterfly Sparky prepare for changes.
Sparky ... the only constant is change ... favorable, of course
Sparky Zig ... lightweight ...
butterfly Sparky new but favorable
Sparky butterfly ... new and favorable are what I look forward to ... the wealth is there, when it will be shared with the people of Iraq is my question ...
PM butterfly Sparky if you go up and read what I've said, I did not mention the RV of the dinar.
Sparky butterfly ... Be prepared changes are coming. ...
butterfly Sparky start where I came in and you are a smart man, can figure it out.
Sparky ... in my understanding, any change in the value of any currency is a re valuation ... in milli seconds on the FX ...
Sparky ... currency flows like water, I think that's where it gets its name ... velocity as Breitling said ...
Sparky ... usually small increments ... adding or decreasing value ...
Dave How are you going to reval 82 trillion dinar? lol That would be 2.5 times the total US debt at 30 trillion.??????????????????????Again.....and yet again 82 T dinar equals 50 billion usd......how could ever equal 2,5 x the US debt at 30 Trillion usd.....???????? NORV...invest in a calculator!
Dave If this dont make SENSE.....I be a MORON........ or i be missing the boat....
Zig Dave : Kap probably meant at 1:1
Dave Zig HOW.... No RV ....EVER!
Sparky ... just went up 30 dinars recently ...
Dave wippy.......ooo3 cents less thyan that...
Sparky Dave ... a positive movement ...
Dave hehe...a pip not even
Sparky ... I recall Shabs doing 4 pips ... 1170 to 1166 ... just before he got kicked out of the country by Maliki ...
Dave 4 dinar at .00086
Sparky ... Shab's was testing ... imo ...
Dave testing .00o86 on the usd...lol 1459 iqd to 1 usd......4 dinar squat
Sparky ... to watch the escapades of Maliki ... USA set him up like Sadam ...
Dave Iraq did better economically with Saddam
Sparky ... GHB set them all up when he was head of the CIA back in the day ... ask Tebow ... Dave ... He controlled Iran ...... at least they were afraid of him as the Iraqi Iran war went on
Dave 7 yrs or more war with Iran
Sparky ... that vacuum allowed the USA and Maliki ...
Dave soon followed 1 gulf war....then 2nd,,,,,Iraq gets bombed into the Stone Age......been stuck there since -- at least 800 Trillion USD.....went missing since Maliki
Sah Dave I don't think it was in the trillions but the billions for sure.
Dave Dave oops yes Billions.......sounding like Kap with that post...lol
Sah US was trading them US dollars in exchange for dinar at an unequal rate that later they would settle up with those dinar to buy oil at a lower rate. US has a pile in their despository.
Sah so that story goes...
Dave heard US holding 30 TRILLION !QD
Sah Maliki had the US dollar in a big vault and took some for himself and paid bribes to important people and others walked in and took. Billions unaccounted for.
Dave HUGE vault.....
Butterfly "The Prime Minister agreed to our request relieving us of our duties as the acting Ministry of Finance." Abdul-Jabbar, the current Oil Minister, said on Twitter.
He pointed out that the Finance Ministry's Investigation provides formal proof that a "specific group" stole 3.7 trillion Iraqi dinars (2.5 billion dollars) from taxes revenues of Rafidain Bank.
Dave butterfly Yeah and the Sudanese was head of the Integrity commission....
Dave betcha he has a few IQD to spare
Sah butterfly At least the theft is showing up because banks are now digitized there and the theft can be tracked and found. Old school I think still thinks it is the manual way and they will not get caught. A lot of fudging that is too big to hide.
butterfly Sah agree
Dave Sah hear that fewer than 30% of Iraqi's have bank accounts Still.....
Sah Dave Now that the accounts are insured a few months back it has been steadily growing. It was not safe or insured before to bank money. Especially when ISIS was taking over banks.
Dave more banks in my small city than all of IRAQ
Sah Iraq right now is the fastest growing economy in the middle east. At the rate they are going now they are said to be named the top one in 2023. Very important for our dinar.
Dave Sah ....and doing it with little foreign investments
Sah Dave They have been investing in foreign investments. They have been working with bankers from the UK.
Dave Big Oil......absent in Iraq
Sparky ... Big oil dosn't like kickbacks... pay to play ...

butterfly The Secretary-General of the Islamic Dawa Party, Nuri al-Maliki, affirmed: The next government will not be a gift, but rather a constraint and responsibility on the necks of those who oppose it.
In a speech commemorating the founding of the Dawa Party and the birth of the pure imams, he said: It is not a shame to disagree, but the shame is that we do not agree and we are all under the roof of the constitution.
Al-Maliki added: Completing the constitutional benefits represents the decision of all authentic Iraqis, and we are on the cusp of forming a new government, which is the result of the tireless work of the people's representatives.
He explained: We want the next government to be serviceable and restore the prestige of the state, and it will be an opportunity for those who can achieve and be up to the responsibility.
Al-Maliki said: The next government has difficult files in front of it in light of the general decline in services, and we want it to provide electricity, housing, work and services.
He pointed out that the treatment of slums is to provide an alternative, not to impose rents, or a complex, or difficulty in solving most problems, especially the agriculture and water crisis, and we will support the government and will not abandon it and will hold it accountable at the same time.

Al-Yasiri added, "The pressures exerted to change the exchange rate are populist, and if the change takes place, it will destroy the economy and stability, because financial and economic transactions and investors built their projects on the new price, and it is incorrect to seek to change the exchange rate."
He continued, "Changing the exchange rate raised the competitiveness of the local product, and although there are some disadvantages to the consumer, the change process enabled the government to pay the employees' salaries after the state budget was empty."

Sah How Does the Government Regulate Exchange Rates?
By Kimberly Amadeo Updated on May 31, 2022
Reviewed by Robert C. Kelly The government indirectly regulates exchange rates, because most currency exchange rates are set on the open foreign exchange market (forex). In some countries, like China, the exchange rate is fixed, and the government directly controls it. This control of the yuan, in turn, affects the U.S. dollar. The yuan is loosely pegged to the U.S. dollar. Government Influence
The U.S. government has various tools to influence the U.S. dollar exchange rate against foreign currencies. The nation's central bank—known as the Federal Reserve (Fed)—is an independent arm of the government. It indirectly changes exchange rates when it raises or lowers the fed funds rate—the rate banks charge to lend to each other.
For example, if the Fed lowers the rate, this drives down interest rates throughout the U.S. banking system and increases the supply of money, which tends to weaken the dollar relative to other currencies, given the anticipated inflationary pressure. The diminished rates also tend to weaken demand for dollar-denominated assets, which can have a knock-on effect on the value of the currency. Treasury Department Role
The Treasury Department is a government agency that also indirectly affects the exchange rate. It prints more money. This printing increases the supply and weakens the dollar. It can also borrow more money from other countries. That's done by selling Treasury notes, which increases the supply of money and increases the U.S. debt, and both will send the dollar's value down.
The third government tool is the use of expansionary fiscal policies. Generally, these policies weaken the dollar, because they increase the supply of money. However, these policies can also improve economic growth, which tends to attract domestic and foreign investors to dollar-denominated assets.
Sah This demand can often overshadow the expansion in the supply of dollars. Regulations on Foreign Exchange Trading
The Chicago Futures Trading Commission regulates forex brokers. It oversees all U.S. forex brokerage companies, enforces its regulations, and prosecutes outright fraud. Its authority was strengthened in 2010 with the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform Act.1
Approximately 95% of the $5.1 trillion traded daily on forex markets changes hands via spot currency transactions rather than futures transactions. Since these consist of two-day delivery rather than cash, they are considered the same as futures contracts. For this reason, a broker must register as a commodity trading advisor, a futures commission merchant, an introducing broker, or a commodity pool operator with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and become a member of the National Futures Association.
The U.S. National Futures Association (NFA) is a self-regulating association. All U.S. forex brokers operating on behalf of other U.S. clients must register. The NFA’s objective is to protect the integrity of U.S. markets and to protect investors from fraud, but the association doesn't get involved with the value of any particular currency.2
The U.S. Treasury Department is always on the lookout for any price-fixing in forex trading.

Dave Sah Sudani may be well educated but affiliated with the SLC/Maliki and prolly sighing with relief that his diplomatic immunity is maintained........
Sah Dave I was hoping that Maliki would not get vice president again. Sadr did not want him in office at all and might cause an uprising. Hopefully maybe he won't have him in office but he is at least qualified to keep the economy up and a clean office. Iraq is up for one of the best economies in the middle east for 2023. I posted an article two days ago. If the economy is up and gets even stronger is good for our currency to rise in value.
Butterfly Sah read the last article I just posted for tomorrow.
Sah butterfly Thanks I did. Nice to see the IMF and World bank and Iraq all meeting in W.ashington
Sheila good evening all... long week. many good articles, videos, stories out there these last few days.
Sah sheila Anything you found interesting?
Sheila Nothing more than what you have posted here. Listening to other calls and reading recaps, etc. All good signs.
Sheila Hoping @TWW or @Mike will post some tidbit tonight, this weekend.
Sah Did you catch the last article butterfly posted on iqd news about the World Bank and IMF and Iraq financial minister meeting in Washington. You will have to check it out. Everything in the right direction.
Sah I like my article two days ago about Iraq out ranking other Middle East countries for Economy growth and will be at the top for 2023. That has to be an excellent sign.
Sheila Sah Yes, scanned that one. Optimistic. Faith and Prayers.
Sah I am just waiting for it to all line up and a miracle happens.
Sah I would love to prove Norv wrong. I think it is all just around the corner.
Sheila Sah Yes, miracles happen.
Sah I would like to see them claim a rate when they take it International. I don't see anymore road blocks in the way if they can just keep a stable government and corruption down to a minimum.
Sheila Sah Well said.
Sah With their economy picking up and money in the bank. It is time to invest more in their country to bring it way up to speed, would also help the people in their country.
Sah When they get the two new plants uo and running to make fresh water from the ocean. They also have a couple more for processing oil, as they need water to bring it up from the ground and process it.
Sheila Didn't know those facts. All sounds good.
Sah They need lots of fresh water and hardly have enough for crops, if that. Would love to see this next year all those plant taking water from the Ocean to cover all their needs. They have a company coming in to build two gas processing plants for capturing their gas instead of burning it off and buying less from Iran.
Sheila Excellent projects. Some of the money needs to be freed up from the new government to vote on it. Just around the corner.
Sheila Keep hearing October 29th in calls and articles. Have no idea why that date/
Sah The UN releases the currency rates on the 15 and the 30 of each month. If there is a new rate it will be there. It is usually posted the day before. That may be it.
Sheila Sah Maybe Saturday will be revealing.
Sah i always have hope the day before the UN posts.
Sheila Do watch Forex?
Sah sheila I watch Forex and and the world news for finance that has currencies and stock prices all over the world.

Butterfly For the first time in its history, bank deposits in the Central Bank of Iraq approach 180 trillion dinars
Tebow But wait, the scammer says Iraq has 80 trilliondinars in circulation......... This can't be
Sheila Wondering about that disparity?
Tebow Hmmmmm?
NORV 84 trillion dinar is what is outside Iraq's banking system Tebew
NORV 180 trillion dinar is what the is within the banking system in deposits. Which the CBI has control of and not a liability - If you read the article it is clear... the Central Bank’s assets from bank deposits amounted to 180 trillion dinars The value of the issued currency remained within the barrier of 82 trillion dinars This is why Iraq could never significantly RV the dinar..That is just to big of a liability
Zig NORV : People don't like what you have to say because they are looking for overnight riches....heck I don't like it either....lol....and people are hoping to say, "Told ya so, Kap".....like @Sah posted:
"I would love to prove Norv wrong. I think it is all just around the corner."
Zig When I first heard about this I was told I would be a millionaire quickly....so hurry up and buy Dinar....Gullible me....
Sparky ... 180 T in bank deposits ... 82T in circulation ...what about gold and other assets of the country ? ... 82T /180 T , plus other assets seems ripe for a reval to me ...
Zig Sparky : So you still believe it could increase significantly overnight?? I no longer think that is possible....oh well....maybe someday we will profit from it....but
Sparky Zig ... I still think it is within the realm of possibility ..... 22% increase, as it decreased approximately that amount overnight ...
Zig Sparky : That's like nothing....lol
Sparky Zig ... slow and steady, as the economy improves ...
Zig Sparky : I agree....but hope we are wrong and then surprised....lol I would love for Kaperoni (NORV) to be wrong....obviously....lol
Sparky Zig ... the overnight wealth possibility was the reason that I got into this ... lol ...
Zig Sparky : Me too...and probably 99% of those that did as well.....
Sparky ... then I learned more about al- Maliki ...
Zig Kaperoni also believed that when he first got in....lol
Sparky ... yes, I recall Kap thinking otherwise ...... I liked Kap's calls ... theme song "... driving to Vegas " ... good tune ...
Sparky ... Ernoste ... another good dude ...
Sparky ... they had an Australian dude on their calls back then ...
Zig Enorrste....Yeah....I have invited him before but said he was too busy
Zig Sparky : Russell is the guy from Australia....wonder if Kap ever hears from him
Sparky Zig ... yes, Russell ... good man ... interesting character -- ... I certainly believe Kap and friends believed at the time that the IQD had possibilities of strong, fast growth ... they were / not con men ...
Zig wdave1 : Well the promise of overnight riches was BS....but it's a speculative venture that may profit.....
wdave1 Revalue their money and make it worth more who would buy their oil. Too expensive.
wdave1 Zig Not in your lifetime or my kids.
Zig Who knows
Sparky wdave1 ... if they harness their energy, and not reley on their neighbors, they would thrive ... minus of course corruption via Maliki / Iran ...
Zig Sparky : So many variables...."IF" But that's the nature of a speculation: Lots of "IFS"
wdave1 Sparky If they make their labor more expensive no one will buy their oil.
Zig Yeah....no guarantee
wdave1 Actually does not take much thought. 1+1=2
Sparky wdave1 ... Europe will now with Putins' BS ... especially if they can figure out how to harness the gas that they flare off ...
Zig Okay....I will hold on to my Dinar for now....who knows....I can't read the future

Sah The Kurdistan Region encompasses most of Iraqi Kurdistan but excludes the disputed territories of Northern Iraq, contested between the Kurdistan Regional Government and the central Iraqi government in Baghdad since 1992 when autonomy was realized.
The Kurdistan Region Parliament is situated in Erbil, but the constitution of the Kurdistan Region declares the disputed city of Kirkuk to be the capital of the Kurdistan Region. When the Iraqi Army withdrew from most of the disputed areas in mid-2014 because of the ISIL offensive in Northern Iraq, Kurdish Peshmerga entered the areas and held control there until Iraq retook the areas in October 2017.[17]
Throughout the 20th century, Kurds in Iraq oscillated between fighting for autonomy and for independence. Kurds experienced Arabization and genocide at the hands of Ba'athist Iraq.[18] The Iraqi no-fly zones over most of Iraqi Kurdistan after March 1991 gave the Kurds a chance to experiment with self-governance and the autonomous region was de facto established.[19]
The Baghdad government only recognized the autonomy of the Kurdistan Region after the fall of Saddam Hussein, with a new Iraqi constitution in 2005.[20] A non-binding independence referendum was passed in September 2017, to mixed reactions internationally. The Kurdistan Region largely escaped the privations of the last years of Saddam Hussein's rule and the chaos that followed his ousting in 2003, and built a parliamentary democracy with a growing economy.[21]
Dave 2003...... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disputed_territories_of_Northern_Iraq
Dave https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disputed_territories_of_Northern_Iraq
Sah Do you thin Iran and Turkey and Syria want their Kurds to all form a separate country and break away. Absolutely not. It will never happen without all four countries fighting their own separate battle with them. They are not going to give up pieces of their oil rich land.
Dave Palestine comes to mind.......
Dave Saddam figured he had a claim to Kuwait
Sah Just like Russia to Ukraine.
Sheila Zig Still not the big step we are looking for with international rate change.
Dave Crimera belonged to Russia since Peter the Great....Stalin gave it to Ukraine,,,,,,,Putin got it back ,,, Was Crimera Stalins to give away????
Sah If every country went after every piece of land they ever owned to get it back the whole world will be in war with everyone.
Sah It is not right to go after land that your country owned a hundred years ago.
Sah Dictators over hundreds of years fought to build their empires from the cost of peoples lives.
Dave Palestine belonged to the British fer thousands of yrs
Dave Early struggle for autonomy (1923–1975)
Before Iraq became an independent state in 1923, the Iraqi Kurds had already begun their independence struggle from the British Mandatory Iraq with the Mahmud Barzanji revolts,
Dave Blame those Brits
Sah Until Iraq centralizes all sales of oil including Kurdistan's thru the National Oil company I don't think we will see the
Sah Dinar go up in value.
Dave Saddam drove those Kurds back
Sah So does Turkey and Syria and Iran.
Dave Sah Iraq Constitution provided 140 regions to Kurdistan as originally agreed to
Dave never ratified......Nothing ever ratified in Iraq
Dave 2nd reading never made it to 3rd and passage the game goes on
Sah Kurds only passed it in Kurdistan. It is not Iraqi law.
Dave was supposed to be
Dave why have art140 hcl........part of that original constitution never implemented
Sah It is not and will never include Kurkuk or Basra. They tried to take the most oil producing place in their own law not in Iraq's. Federal Court shot them down. Totally illigal.
Dave so what is in dispute then? what are disputed territories?
Dave Basra in dispute.....never knew that?
Sah The Kurds not handing over the oil is against the law. They are shutting down all their oil contracts. The told countries to not buy their illegal oil that it was against the law. Turkey has been told to stop buying illegal oil from Kurdistan. The next thing will be to shut down the pipe line to Turkey.
Dave Sah port of ceylon....yes
Sah When the Iraqi Army withdrew from most of the disputed areas in mid-2014 because of the ISIL offensive in Northern Iraq, Kurdish Peshmerga entered the areas and held control there until Iraq retook the areas in October 2017.[17]
Dave Turkey does not care...just send us oil.......
Dave Kurds skim Baghdad withholds....no changes there
Sah These are disputed areas/ Just because they fought there against ISIS and won does not mean they can take that part and add it to Kurdistan. and a little part of Basra. They are greedy people. Kurdistan keeps the illegal oil money and hardly shares it with the Kurds and leaves most poor.
Sah Barzani's line their pockets.
Dave Disputed territories disputed long before ISIS
Sah Kurdistan tried to say that Kurkuk used to be their capital of Kurdistan many years ago. Just because years ago they tried to take it, they claim it any way. Kurds are very corrupt. If you make a deal with them eventually they will screw you out of what they want.
Dave Peshmerga sure did alot of Iraq's dirty work getting rid of ISIS
Sah But does that mean they can take part of the country and their oil.
Dave YEAH and Saddam Gased the Hell out of those Kurds
Sah When one fights in an army it is for the people not for a gain of oil and land.
Sah Until Iraq resolves this so all money from oil is coming into one place the Dinar will stay where it is. If it goes up Iraq needs to have control of all money from oil in Iraq.
Dave Alot of oil in KIRKUK......
Dave Kurkuk The new Kirkuk Provincial Council started its second turn on 6 March 2005. Its inaugural session was dedicated to the introduction of its new members, followed by an oath ceremony supervised by Judge Thahir Hamza Salman, the Head of Kirkuk Appellate Court.
Kirkuk is located in a disputed area of Iraq that runs from Sinjar on the Syrian border southeast to Khanaqin and Mandali on the Iranian border.[56] Kirkuk has been a disputed territory for around eighty years — Kurds wanted Kirkuk to become part of the Kurdistan Region, which has been opposed by the region's Arab and Turkmen populations.[57]
The Kurds sought to annex the long disputed territory to the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) through Article 140 of the Iraqi Constitution that was enacted in 2005.[58][57] Under Article 140 the Ba'athist Arabization policy would be reversed: Displaced Kurds who had relocated to areas in the Kurdish autonomous region would return to Kirkuk, while the Arab Shi'a population would be compensated and relocated to areas in the south. After the Ba'athist regimes demographic and redistricting policies were undone a census and referendum would determine whether Kirkuk would be administered by the KRG or Baghdad.[56]
Following the 2010 parliamentary election the Kurds signed the Erbil Agreement and backed Nouri al-Maliki on the condition that Article 140 would be implemented.[55]
Butterfly Al-Maliki: PMF members are "a whole nation of Jihadists" 2022-07-17 15:57
Shafaq News / The head of the State of Law Coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, said on Sunday that al-Hashd al-Shaabi's leaders and members are "a whole nation of Jihadists".
Al-Maliki said in a tweet, "Al-Hashd, its heroes, and commanders, are a nation of free Jihadists and martyrs. They are our big hope."
"Since day one, I supported it (PMF), and stood against all attempts to target it."
He added, "Fabrications and falsification will never succeed in ruining my relationship with our armed forces and al-Hashd al-Shaabi, who are the protectors of the homeland, as well as the country's political process."
This statement comes a few hours after a series of leaked recordings, attributed to al-Maliki, appeared, in which he allegedly insults influential Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr and al-Hashd al-Shaabi (PMF). https://shafaq.com/en/Iraq-News/Al-Maliki-PMF-members-are-a-whole-nation-of-Jihadists
butterfly Presidential elections: no PUK-KDP agreement yet 2022-07-17 13:02
Shafaq News / The spokesman for the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) bloc, Karwan Yarwis, revealed today that no agreement has been reached with the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) regarding the Presidential elections.
This statement comes a few hours before the meeting that will bring the heads of parliamentary blocs together, to discuss addressing the current situation in the country.
Yarwis told Shafaq News agency that the PUK has nominated Barham Salih for the position of President of the republic, while the KDP chose Rebar Ahmed, noting that the two sides have not been able to agree on a single presidential candidate yet.
The Coordination Framework (CF) is reconsidering the caretaker Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi for a second tenure in office amid internal division over Nouri al-Maliki expressing interest in running for the premiership by himself.
"The leaders of the Shiite consortium convened yesterday at the headquarters of Ammar al-Hakim, the head of al-Hekmah movement, to discuss the preparations for the formation of the government," multiple sources reported to Shafaq News Agency, "it was not plain sailing, however, since Nouri al-Maliki expressed interest in taking over the premiership."
"The majority of the Framework's leaders did not approve Al-Maliki's candidature since there has been an agreement that the PM-designate shall be a second-tier leader," the source said.
butterfly "By default, the bloc with the most seats shall name the prime minister. i.e, Hadi al-Ameri's al-Fatah, with 45 lawmakers under its name, has the right to do so," the source continued, "so far, the top contenders for the post are former Interior Minister Mohammad al-Ghabban, Minister of Labour Mohammad al-Sudani, and incumbent Mustafa al-Kadhimi."
"The PM-designate will be selected by a vote in the general assembly of the Coordination Framework that brings together the Coordination Framework forces and their allies," the sources said.
"The Coordination Framework meetings will continue to be held at al-Hakim's residence since he decided to bow out of the political scene," the sources added. https://shafaq.com/en/Iraq-News/Presidential-elections-no-PUK-KDP-agreement-yet
butterfly Washington expects "OPEC" to increase oil production in the coming weeks
Sunday 17 July 2022 21:38 American Energy Security Adviser Amos Hochstein confirmed that Washington considers that "OPEC" countries can increase oil production, and expects them to take new steps in this direction in the coming weeks.
Hochstein accompanied US President Joe Biden on his tour of the Middle East, which included a visit to Saudi Arabia and participation in the Gulf Cooperation Council summit.
"Based on what I heard on the trip, I'm pretty confident we'll see a few more steps in the coming weeks," he said in an interview with CBS.
"There is additional capacity, and there is room to increase production," he added.
He pointed out that the "OPEC" countries promised earlier to increase oil production in July and August by 50%.
According to him, the US administration also expects to increase domestic production by one million barrels per day by the end of the year.
Hochstein noted that global oil prices began to decline to about $ 100 from $ 120 a barrel.

Sah Newspapers follow the latest developments in the political crisis and the upcoming parliament session
Monday 18 July 2022 01:40 | Journalism Baghdad / NINA /- The newspapers issued in Baghdad today, Monday, the eighteenth of July, followed the latest developments in the political crisis, the selection of the presidents of the republic and the ministers, the upcoming parliament session, and other political, economic and security issues.
Al-Zawraa newspaper, which is issued by the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate, followed up on the reasons for not resolving the position of the President of the Republic, and talked about the existence of a split within the coordination framework over the position of the Prime Minister.
The newspaper pointed out that the representative of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Shirwan Al-Dobardani, said: "The election of the president of the republic was not an obstacle to the tripartite alliance as much as the position of prime minister constituted an obstacle.
Sah Al-Dobardani added: "After the withdrawal of the Sadrist movement and the decision of the coordination framework to form the government, the Kurdish agreement on a candidate for the presidency is no longer important, and this is clear to the Kurdistan Democratic Party."
He added, "The delegation of the Kurdistan Democratic Party has been in Baghdad for days, and holds continuous meetings with the coordinating framework and the Sunni parties," stressing: "There are many problems within the Shiite house and the coordinating framework, as they split into two sides, one of which is with Nuri al-Maliki, who ran for the position of The prime minister, in contrast to a party that opposes al-Maliki's candidacy, and it is difficult for him to make a decision in the coming days.
Sah He continued, "The Kurds were not a reason to delay the formation of the government. The Shiite house has to agree on the candidate for prime minister and the government program, and if agreed, the Kurds will not give one hour, and they will say that they are going to Parliament and will vote on their candidates for the position of President of the Republic, and the parties to the framework did so in 2018 also when they voted for Barham Salih.
On the other hand, Al-Zawraa quoted the political analyst Issam Al-Faili saying: “So far, the Kurds have not reached a conclusion due to the insistence of the National Union on the nomination of Barham Salih and they were unable to come out with one candidate, and the Kurdistan Democratic Party does not agree to enter into competition with candidates, and on this Basically, the Iraqi political scene is getting more complex day by day at this stage.
Sah He added, "The nature of the conflict between two generations, in the first place, the traditional generation and the hawk generation, which sees itself as being the first to form the government, and the new generation that is still looking forward to forming the government, makes it difficult to solve the crisis within a short period."
As for Al-Zaman newspaper, it followed the upcoming parliament session and its date, noting the invitation of Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi, heads of political blocs, to a meeting today, Monday, to discuss the expected benefits.
The newspaper quoted a member of the State of Law coalition, Wael al-Rikabi: "The coordinating framework will present itself as a more numerous bloc in the upcoming parliament session officially."
He added: "The candidate for prime minister will be subject to the understandings and agreement of the blocs and the political parties
Sah He stressed, "Today there will be a meeting of the Speaker of the House of Representatives with the heads of the political blocs in Parliament to determine the date of the next session."
But a source in the Kurdistan Democratic Party confirmed, according to / time / that the party's deputies could not attend the next parliament session, without explaining the reasons.
While the newspaper quoted independent MP Hamid Al-Shiblawi as saying: “We as independents will not ally themselves, and this is our decision from the beginning, and it is still our compass towards constructive opposition and support for projects that serve the public interest, and within the law we will oppose all projects that do not serve the public interest, whether at the legislative level or in the Executive government
Sah He added, "Our goal is clear to end the accumulated failure of previous governments and to start working towards the interests of the marginalized citizen, which is the essence of what we have achieved as independents in the Parliament and as emerging movements."
In another matter, Al-Sabah newspaper, which is issued by the Iraqi Media Network, followed the entry into force of the Food Security Law.
Al-Sabah said: "Despite the great uproar that has been aroused around it for a long time, and the debates and political bickering have been going on for months, but the entry into force of the Emergency Support Law for Food Security and Development passed silently, silently and calmly two weeks ago."
Sah She added, "Despite the immediate implementation of the provisions of the law after its publication in the Official Gazette on July 6, the executive authorities remained silent and did not start yet the practical steps to implement the provisions of the law that were heralded by some parliamentary and governmental bodies."
The newspaper indicated that it had contacted dozens of executive agencies that benefit from the provisions of the law, but they chose to remain silent and not respond to questions (when and how) these paragraphs would be applied, as if the matter did not concern them from far or near.
A member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Jamal Kougar, said in a statement to Al-Sabah: “The ruling on not implementing the law and not actually bringing it into force is incorrect,” explaining that any law that is enacted, especially if it involves a financial component, will have a clear impact upon its implementation. completely
Sah And he stated: “The law has two timings; Part of it is implemented by the current government, and the other part is being implemented by the next government, and it has allocated seven trillion and 250 billion dinars for its implementation.
Cougar explained: "The first part, of which the current government will disburse its money, will be part of the development of the regions, and it needs projects presented by the governorates, and part of those funds are allocated to install contract holders who need to audit, and to allocate their transactions. This is new, and this requires scrutiny and study of the needs of the ministries and specializations, and therefore everything that was mentioned needs work, effort and time.”/ End

butterfly Tony Blair Institute: Iraqis More Optimistic for the Future 18th July 2022 A new report from the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change claims that Western perceptions of the Arab world are too often shaped by negative stereotypes and anecdotal evidence used to justify prejudicial views - rather than by reality.
As a result, it says, our understanding of who Arabs are, and what values and aspirations they have, too often misses the mark.
Among the Iraq-related statistics cited in the report:
68 percent of Iraqis do not want to rely on religious or international organisations to be responsible for providing services;
77 percent of Iraqis agreeing that their country's religious education and practices require reform;
67 percent of Iraqis consider themselves only moderately religious or not religious at all;
78 percent of Iraqis support young people learning technological skills;
64 percent of Iraqis have a favourable view of the US;
76 percent of Iraqis have a favourable view of the UK;
46 per cent of Iraqi respondents agreeing with this statement that their best days are ahead of them, as opposed to only 20 per cent in 2020;
the percentage of Iraqi people who felt that boys' university education should be prioritised fell from 46 per cent in 2004 to 22 per cent in 2018;
In Iraq's elections last year, women surpassed the gender quota, making up almost 30 percent of parliamentarians (they won 97 of 329 seats in the Council of Representatives of Iraq);

Sah So, from my article I posted Kurds are holding back the voting in of the president like they did in 2018 until they know who will be nominated for PM. They do not want Maliki as PM. Maliki's party does not have as many votes as another party that has the right to nominate someone from their party instead so Kurds are holding back until they know for sure it will not be Malaki.
NORV Good article tonight on the dinar
NORV "There is a vision in the exchange rate of the dollar, and restoring confidence and strength to the Iraqi dinar, provided that it is not by a decision, as happened in the decision to raise the exchange rate, but by real economic reforms and an increase in non-oil revenues with a plan that extends from one to four years, and increasing the volume of investments in the country by persuading Iraqi investors who invest their money abroad to return to Iraq through facilities provided to them and encouraging them to invest their money inside the country.”
NORV There is a vision in the exchange rate of the dollar, and restoring confidence and strength to the Iraqi dinar, provided that it is not by a decision,
NORV in other words, not some random act.
butterfly “THINK AGAIN: INSIDE THE MODERNISATION OF THE NEW MIDDLE EAST
NORV but by real economic reforms and an increase in non-oil revenues with a plan that extends from one to four years, and increasing the volume of investments in the country by persuading Iraqi investors who invest their money abroad to return to Iraq through facilities provided to them and encouraging them to invest their money inside the country.”
NORV In other words, raise the value as a result of economic growth!
Sah @ Norv exactly I agree.
Sah Optimism about the formation of the new government
Monday 18 July 2022oliticians believe that the formation of the government is very close, despite the problems that dominate the Iraqi political scene regarding coalitions and government formation, at a time when the forces of the coordination framework, through their meetings, set specific criteria for the personality of the next prime minister, which included that the candidate for the post of prime minister be acceptable to the Najaf authority and not Convicted of corruption charges and not covered by the Accountability and Justice Law, and to be loyal to Iraq and its people.
Zainab Al-Moussawi, a member of the House of Representatives from the Al-Sadiqun Parliamentary Bloc, told Al-Sabah: "There is a difference in viewpoints and nothing more within the coordination framework, and there is no dissent between its forces, as discussions are continuing to reach a personality of a prime minister who is trustworthy and not weak to lead the country to to safety."
She added that "the coordination framework, during its continuous meetings, set fixed criteria for choosing a prime minister to run the country in the next stage, and these criteria stipulated that the candidate for the position of prime minister should be accepted by the Najaf authority, not convicted of corruption charges, not covered by the Accountability and Justice Law, and be loyal to Iraq." and his people."
She explained that "the coordinating framework forces will soon announce the name of the candidate for the position of prime minister after the parliament's vote on the Kurdish parties' candidate for the presidency of the Iraqi republic."
Meanwhile, Bahaa Al-Nouri, a spokesman for the State of Law coalition, revealed the participation of all representatives of the Shiite component, including independent representatives, in the session to choose the next prime minister, suggesting that the issue will be resolved within the next 48 hours.
Sah Al-Nouri said: "The leaders of the coordination framework did not present themselves as candidates for prime minister despite the media statements."
For her part, the deputy for the coordination framework, Ibtisam Al-Hilali, said: "The meeting of the parliament's presidency with the heads of political blocs (today, Monday) will discuss the completion of the constitutional entitlement and an agreement to set a new date for holding the presidential election session this week." link
Sah The candidate for the post of prime minister be acceptable to the Najaf authority and not Convicted of corruption charges and not covered by the Accountability and Justice Law, and to be loyal to Iraq and its people. This is good news, will have a non corrupt PM. Al-Nouri said: "The leaders of the coordination framework did not present themselves as candidates for prime minister despite the media statements." There goes Maliki. Their State of Law did not have the most votes so a different group is nominating a PM that does. This is working out nicely.
Sah Now the Kurds have bragging rights for holding off presidential votes until Maliki was no longer in the running for PM. Hopefully this will go faster now to place a new government. Two steps forward and one step back, two steps forward and one step back and now the leap.

Shafaq News/ A lawyer filed a motion to the Iraqi public prosecutor to probe leaked statements attributed to a former prime minister of the country and a leader of a large bloc in the Iraqi legislative body.

Sah represented the call of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Muhammad al-Halbousi, to quickly resolve political understandings regarding the electoral benefits, and the subsequent call for the coordination framework to hold a voting session on the candidate of the President of the Republic during this week, additional pressure papers on the main Kurdish forces concerned with this file, with Possibilities to repeat the scenario of 2018 by entering the parties concerned with candidates and leaving the choice to members of Parliament to resolve the matter.
At a time when the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan confirmed its adherence to the candidate Barham Salih to renew for a second term, the Kurdistan Democratic Party indicated that a meeting between the two parties is imminent during the next two days to resolve this file.
The leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Mahmoud Khoshnaw, affirmed the union's adherence to the candidate Barham Salih, calling on the Kurdistan Democratic Party to be aware that flexibility in dialogues stems from this basis and they should support the candidate of the Union to achieve political balances
Sah Khoshnaw added, "The consensual union candidate, the settlement candidate, and the competition candidate is Barham Salih, and the democrat must be aware that flexibility in dialogues stems from this foundation, and they must support our candidate to achieve political balances," noting that "the Speaker's call to speed up the resolution of dialogues and the other call from the framework."
It is a good thing, and it is not a pressure card as it is a completion of the constitutional and electoral benefits, and we value this role and we are ready to enter the parliament with our candidate Barham Salih."
He added that "there is rapprochement and understandings with the Democrat on many issues, and the relationship is positive in its entirety, but this matter has nothing to do with completing the constitutional balances, which is a natural thing," stressing that "the scenario of 2018 may be present again, but we do not wish for this option because we want to enter with The Democrat has one candidate, Barham Salih, so that there will be flexibility in resolving the rest of the files, which is what we count on until the moment we enter the parliament.”
For his part, the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Mahdi Abdul Karim, indicated to an upcoming meeting between the two main parties during the next two days to resolve the file of the candidate for the position of President of the Republic.
Dave Sah Can yet agree on a position that is largely ceremonial.....
Sah For his part, the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Mahdi Abdul Karim, indicated to an upcoming meeting between the two main parties during the next two days to resolve the file of the candidate for the position of President of the Republic.
Abdul Karim said in an interview with Alsumaria News, "The next two days will witness a serious dialogue session between the Democrats and the Union regarding the candidate for the position of President of the Republic," noting that "in the event that an agreement is reached on one candidate, it is what we wish for. Without that, the option to go with two candidates and repeat a scenario The year 2018 will be present, leaving the choice to the members of Parliament to choose the most appropriate."
He added, "Everyone is waiting for the talks, and we believe that the leadership has a vision that will be put forward and discussed, and work will be in the interest of the country and the Kurdish component, and agreement on one personality," explaining that "entry with two candidates is a natural and democratic matter, and whoever gets the highest votes will be blessed at that time. www-alsumaria-tv.translate.goog/news/خاص-السومرية/426631/الكشف-عن-السيناريو-الأقرب-لطوي-صفحة-مرشح-منصب-رئيس?_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en

Sah And he added, "No matter how you conspired and conspired as you did yesterday, there is no renewal or allegiance to you, and we warn you against re-igniting the fuse of sedition, bid farewell in peace and save what is left of your face.
4,492 views Today, Sunday, the Secretary-General of the Al-Bashaer Youth Movement, Yasser Al-Maliki, commented on the recent audio leaks attributed to the leader of the State of Law coalition, Nuri Al-Maliki.
Al-Maliki said in a tweet via Twitter, which was followed by Alsumaria News, "We congratulate you on the most gracious Eid Al-Ghadir."
And he added, "No matter how you conspired and conspired as you did yesterday, there is no renewal or allegiance to you, and we warn you against re-igniting the fuse of sedition, bid farewell in peace and save what is left of your face."
He concluded, "The crowd is the mother of victory, and there is no renewal for the owner of sedition." Al-Maliki accused, according to the audio recordings attributed to him, the Sadrist movement and its leader of betraying the country and killing many Iraqis during the sectarian period. He also accused the leaders of the crowd of thieves. www-alsumaria-tv.translate.goog/news/سياسة/426664/بعد-ضجة-التسريبات-المالكي-مهما-فبّركت-وتآمرت-فلا-ت?_x_tr_sl=auto&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en
Dave Insurrections a bad THING?
Sah @Dave You still don't get it. There is no 140 in Iraq constitution for Kurds. It was voted in by Kurdistan as law not all of Iraq. Federal Court already said it is illegal. Yhey can not claim land and people in Iraq out side of Kurdistan.
Dave Tell that to Barzani......
Sah The land is owned by Iraq under Kurdistan. Kurdistan has no right other than to live on it. Iraq owns all mineral rights to land. They can not take over what is not theirs.
Dave Maliki and the Arabitization of those Disputed territories almost led to all out war
Dave What was hcl and 140 al about.....?
Dave was granted to them but never ratified…… haggling over 5% of profits....12% vs 17%.....
Sah Abadi had to push them out of Kirkuk and back into their boundaries. Kurds felt since they pushed ISIS out they get to keep the land and oil. They voted it in their government in Kurdistan which Federal Court is illegal. Federal Court also said that Kurdistan can not sell oil that belongs to Iraq. They do not own it.
Dave Again Kurds argue otherwise
Dave Kurds continue to skim....Baghdad withholds...no changes
Sah That 12 percent goes by their census of population. That is why they tried to take over Kirkuk besides oil, the need the consensus of population to bring their percentage higher. Until they turn all oil over to Iraq and pump at least 250,000 barrels a day they will get nothing more from government.
Dave So what are the Kurds moaning about?
Dave Are they Semi Automomous or not?
Sah All oil contracts signed in Kurdistan are void unless signed with Iraq. They are voiding them now and a lot of oil companies have walked away as their contracts have been voided. It is illegal for Kurdistan to sell oil and illegal for any country to buy it from them.
Dave Do it anyways..... the cheats!
Sah No they are not, just the same as Kurds in Turkey and Iran and other countries. They would all like to break from their countries and make one Kurd country. It will never happen. Other countries will not give up mineral rights or land.
Dave Was Kurdistan not meant to be Semi Autionomous?
Dave According to that Constitutin
Sah Kurds have always been this way. They always barter for more, never keep their promises. Just take until they get shut of.
Dave Sah I sympathize with the Kurds.....been screwed from the getgo
Sah It is like our states each having their own laws within the United States Federal laws. Kurds rule their land like a state and Iraq is Federal Government.
Sah It would be like one of our states breaking away on it's own.
Dave WE have Quebec here...Semi Automous
Dave definitely get their Perks from the rest of Canada
Sah Kurds don't like to live by the rules of their country. They want to just make up their own laws, some that are OK but others that are against the Iraqi constitution that are illegal. They make it up as they go along and hope they don't get caught.
Dave https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurdistan_Region
Sah The are corrupt and have taken millions of dollars away from the Iraqi people selling their oil and then want their 12 percent on top of it. I don't think so and neither does Iraq and the Federal Court.
Dave and kurds believe what is theirs is theirs....
