Member:  The 15th was the date for the CBI and the banks. hope they make the deadline guys.

Member: I have heard that Iraq, Kuwait, and Japan have all done away with their parliament. Have you heard this same intel?

Member: I heard the same thing.

Member: Are the rates going to be set in stone or are they going to be based on the $3.22 rate set by Iraq?

Member: I’m told the rate is set in stone but we don’t know what the actual rate will be yet. We are getting conflicting reports and hering the minimum rate is supposed to be $3.22. I’m still hearing our rate will be higher……Noone knows the rate 100% until we get to our exchange.

Member: Will there be redemption centers in every state?

Member: they have said multiple times that there will be Redemption Centers in every state. It may or may not be in the Capitol, but you will have one close

Member: Do we need a trust to exchange?

Member:  Mark has stated repeatedly that you do not need a trust at appointment, you can get one after

Member: At one time we heard the VND will be 85% of the IQD….What do you think?

MZ: I Think it will be more like 50-60% of the iQD…..but I hope I am wrong and they are right

Member: Perhaps that’s why they need 87,000 new IRS agents

Member: it’s speculation but why would they need so many agents when they know people are broke and we’re in a recession? Just reading the tea leaves

Member:  So when do you expect things to start getting crazy?

Member: But doesn’t there need to be some big stuff happening in disclosure starting in that script? In order for us to go

Member:  I wanted big boom or lockdown or blackout and EBS today so bad. I think there needs to be some speed up of exposure and disclosure in general this weekend.

Frank26  When they do make the announcement  that they have a seated government and dissolved parliament... when you have those two you have a new exchange rate.  IMO Kazemi is going to be the one to make the announcement of the new exchange rate...not Mustafa from the CBI...

Kevin Muir: Are We Heading for a Decade of Inflation?

Palisades Gold Radio: 

Tom welcomes back private trader and newsletter publisher Kevin Muir of "The Macro Tourist" to the show.

Investors seem to be having problems understanding the current economy and inflation. Those in charge are arguing that this past month had no inflation. The reality is that month over month figures may be indicating that inflation has peaked.

This may cause the Fed may to be less hawkish than most investors are expecting. Kevin argues that bond markets are assessing the economy and the possibility of a recession differently than stocks. Kevin cautions against selling stocks at this point. Over the long-term, stock markets should reflect the economy, but over shorter periods they can get ahead of themselves.

Kevin is more of a bull on the real economy because of our past monetary policy. We've forgotten that fiscal policy can provide some benefits to the economy. Inflation can't be fixed by spending more on fiscal policies. He expects inflation to continue for at least a decade, and this will be a big factor that investors will want to consider.

He's more concerned with bonds than the stock market. Should the Fed decide they don't need to reduce growth, then we could see a huge shift away from bonds. We could have a 1987 style setup with bonds triggering a crash.

Bonds aren't providing the safety hedge that they did historically. The monetary environment is shifting rapidly, and investors may be overlooking this looming issue. Kevin contrasts the differences between the Canadian and U.S. housing markets. Canada appears to be contracting, but the United States could see higher prices.

 He believes the only way the Fed is cutting over the next year is if something critical breaks. Gold has a role to play as a way of mitigating risk and hedging low real rates. Gold has suffered for the last few months because of Fed policy on rates and the dollar's rise.

Lastly, he outlines why this coming inflationary decade may be an opportunity for carefully positioned investors.

Mot: The other day my neighbor, who is blonde, came running up to me in the driveway jumping for joy! I didn't know why she was jumping so excitedly but I thought, 'what the heck', and I starting jumping up and down along with her.

She said, 'I have some really great news!'

She stopped jumping and breathing heavily from all the jumping up and down and told me that she was pregnant. I knew she'd been trying for a while so I told her, 'That's great I couldn't be happier for you!'

Amazed at how she could know so soon after getting pregnant, I asked her how she knew. She said....

CharlieOK:  Tony's last cc was loud and clear imo. He wants us to wait and see what Iraq will or will not do. If they do nothing, he clearly has said the US/UN will do it for them. He also clearly recognized that every time we get close to the rv, the rug gets pulled out from underneath us.what does or does not happen. I know. I know….One way or another, even if it takes to the end of this year, a Caretaker Govt., (or an Interim Govt.) is the sweet spot for us, imo.

Shybaby:  Central Bank of Iraq reserves return to levels before ISIS war

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – The Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) announced that its cash reserves rose to 82 billion USD, which is the level prior to ISIS war, and advanced 10 ranks in the list of countries with the largest gold reserves in the world, with 130 tons.

The spokesperson for the Central Bank of Iraq, Omar Essam, indicated that the bank’s cash reserves rose to 82 billion USD, and is expected to reach 90 billion USD by the end of 2022.

The bank’s cash reserves witnessed a significant decrease after the Ministry of Finance withdrew 12 trillion dinars in a first step, and 14 trillion dinars in a second step at the end of 2020 because of the financial crisis caused by the Corona pandemic and the drop in oil prices.

In regards to gold reserves, Essam explained that Iraq possesses 130 tons of gold, and is among the countries with the largest gold reserves. He added that Iraq is now ranked the 30th globally and the fourth in the Arab world.

Member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Jamal Cougar, elaborated that Iraq’s reserves before the ISIS war ranged between 81-82 billion USD, but they decreased after the ISIS war to about 38 billion USD during the times of former prime ministers Haider Al-Abadi and Adel Abdul Mahdi.

Cougar also talked about gold reserves and mentioned that the world is heading towards gold and not the US dollar as a reserve for central banks. He added that the reserves were in gold before they become in US dollars. 

Cougar indicated that there is a Russian-Chinese effort to end the dominance of the US dollar and restore the position of gold, clarifying that there are countries fear that the dollar will lose its position

Tishwash:  A strong rise for oil .. Brent is close to $ 100 a barrel

Oil prices closed higher than two dollars after the International Energy Agency raised its forecast for the growth of oil demand for this year, as the rise in natural gas prices led to some consumers turning to oil.

Brent crude futures rose $2.20, or 2.3%, to settle at $99.60 a barrel. US West Texas Intermediate crude futures also rose $2.41, or 2.6 percent, to $94.34.

The Paris-based International Energy Agency said in its monthly oil report, in which it raised its forecast for demand in 2022 by 380,000 barrels per day, "Natural gas and electricity prices rose to new records, spurring the transition from gas to oil in some countries." .

By contrast, on Thursday, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) lowered its forecast for global oil demand growth in 2022, citing the economic impact of Russia's invasion of Ukraine, high inflation and efforts to contain the Corona pandemic.

OPEC expects oil demand to rise in 2022 by 3.1 million barrels per day, down by 260,000 barrels per day from previous expectations. However, it still expects a higher overall global oil demand figure than the IEA for 2022.

Last week's rise in US oil inventories and the resumption of crude flows in a pipeline supplying central Europe limited price gains.

The US Energy Information Administration said US crude oil inventories rose 5.5 million barrels in the last week, much more than expectations for an increase of 73,000 barrels.

The United States said on Thursday that nine companies will buy 20 million barrels of oil in the latest sale of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, as part of the efforts of President Joe Biden's administration to ease high oil prices due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine and a lack of spare capacity globally to boost production.

The administration said in March that it would withdraw 1 million barrels of crude per day from May to October, or about 180 million barrels from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve, which holds oil in caves on the coasts of Louisiana and Texas   link

CandyKisses:  Iraq's budget... a tossing ball and scattered accounts

Iraq's budget... A government without a financial budget has become not a strange thing in the Iraqi state in recent years, despite the severe economic and development damage to the country as a result.

The budget specifies the items of state expenditures during a year, especially for salaries, subsidies, and the payment of debt burdens, as well as the target of state revenues. Despite the government’s success in obtaining about $ 18 billion within the Emergency Security Law for Food Security and Development approved by Parliament on June 8 to secure energy imports, finance important service projects, and fund the Social Welfare Fund, officials confirm the country’s continued need for the draft budget. Earlier, at nearly $90 billion.

Above all, the final accounts of the previous budgets have not been resolved, although they must be submitted after the end of each fiscal year and before the approval of the new budget.

And the Federal Supreme Court - its decisions are binding on all authorities - stripped Al-Kazemi’s government of all powers, as it is a caretaker government with limited powers, and it is not entitled to propose important bills with the invalidation of all appointment orders of higher grades issued during the period of the conduct of business. 

In his speech at the cabinet meeting yesterday, Al-Kazemi held the political situation responsible for the delay in the budget, and said: “We are now in the eighth month of 2022, and there is no budget, and the imbalance is not in the government, but because of the existing political situation, so how do we build schools, pave roads and build projects with Absence of political consensus on forming a government or finding a solution to the political impasse. He promised, "The issue of the budget is a very serious matter, and we have good financial abundance and we need to invest it in rebuilding infrastructure and achieving the demands of our people."

With regard to the federal budget for the fiscal year 2023, the financial advisor to the Prime Minister, Haitham al-Jubouri, ruled out its approval, saying to Al-Furat on July 25: “It can only be approved by the presence of a new government and not necessarily adopting the same approach as the current government, it may take austerity for the sake of the article; but if the government remains we will proceed with laying down the doors of the law." 

MP Ahmed Hama Rashid agrees with Al-Jubouri regarding the impossibility of approving the budget, saying, “The current government is unable to approve the country’s budget for this year, because it does not have the powers to legislate laws as approved by the Federal Court,” describing Al-Kazemi’s talk about the necessity of approving the budget.

"Scattered ashes in the eyes, nothing more." While the economic expert, Ali Al-Fraiji, considered that the political crisis over the formation of the next government has plunged Iraq into "a new chaos over how to invest the state's revenues and capabilities." 

Al- Fraiji pointed out that "it is difficult to approve the budget for this year in light of the political turmoil that Iraq is witnessing," noting that Iraq is entering economic chaos today, adding to the negative accumulations of previous years. State matters, including the salaries of employees and retirees, stated that a member of the Parliamentary Finance Committee, Jamal Cougar, said: “Compensation for the affected economic sectors needs a financial cover, and we have two legal covers to provide the allocated amounts.

 ”Presenting alternative laws by the government if they are in full force. He added, "As for the presence of a caretaker government, they should cooperate with each other to present financial laws as a proposed law from Parliament," stressing "the need for coordination between the government and parliament to cover and expand any sector that institutions need." 

And the economists' warnings escalated that the country would remain without a financial budget, and not address the effects of that, especially since its approval needs a few more months, in the event that the political crisis in Iraq is overcome.

Here, the expert in economic affairs, Abdul Hassan Al-Shammari, says that "this delay will hit the investment sector, and will contribute to the spread of unemployment among young people, and will even raise poverty indicators to higher levels." Al-Shammari believes that "addressing the effects of this will be difficult, and not as easy as some officials are talking about, so the political blocs should be aware of the danger of the current stage, and avoid taking risks."

Financial budgets represent the main tool for achieving the state's general policies, whether economic, social, or service, and serve as a presentation of the government's annual plans and programs, which it prepares in response to current challenges. 

 Budgets give governments the best planning to achieve the maximum revenue, and to reorganize their distribution according to spending priorities in order to serve the community. Most importantly, the budget is a tool that reflects the power and symbolism of the state through spending spending on all departments and institutions according to spending plans that are developed in a manner consistent with Citizen priorities, which means economic aspects will be disrupted if they are not approved

Judy Note: Everyone is frustrated when things like liquidation of the Global Currency Reset don’t happen like we think they should. Though, we have to remind ourselves that this wasn’t about us getting rich off the RV, it was about taking down a worldwide and powerful Criminal Syndicate that was fighting back in ways we may never know or understand.

 We should be grateful for those who have given up so much so that we could experience true freedom throughout the world. And, we must appreciate that we had a role to play in the greatest transfer of wealth that the world has ever known – which now appeared set to go by Mon. 15 Aug.

The economic expert, Dr. Safwan Qusay, suggested that the price of a barrel of oil would reach 130 dollars during the coming winter, pointing to the possibility of investing the increase in revenues and converting them into internal investments and activating the private sector to absorb unemployment and introduce new revenues to the country.

Qusay told Al-Maalouma, "The price of oil will depend on the amount of releases from strategic storage for China, Japan, America and the European Union, who own strategic reserves, as consumption is scheduled to be at a rate of 60 million barrels per month."

He added that "the mentioned countries and if they raise the percentage of consumption from the strategic storage, it is possible to control the price, and in the end, the prices will remain at their position during the current period, but it may reach in the winter to 130 dollars per barrel."

And he indicated that "Iraq can invest the surplus of oil prices in absorbing unemployment and poverty, developing infrastructure, and resorting to investment to employ the unemployed and activate the private sector to bring in new revenues."  link

The company "Reshetnyov", a subsidiary of the Russian "Roskosmos" Corporation, announced that it has started developing a new generation of satellites intended to provide Internet and communication services.

"The specialists of our company have started work on the Express-RV satellite project, which is intended to provide communication services and cover the Earth's areas with broadband Internet networks," a statement issued by the company's press service said.

The statement indicated that the new Express-RV system will initially include 4 satellites that will operate in elliptical orbits around the Earth, and will be part of the Russian Sphere system, and will contribute to securing communications and Internet services for the Northern Sea Route and Arctic regions, and will also contribute to securing data for ships and media. Public and private transport, and these satellites are supposed to officially enter service by 2026.

Earlier, Roscosmos noted the Sphere system that it intends to develop in space and will include 7 Express-class satellites, 4 new Express-RV satellites, 12 Skif satellites dedicated to securing wide-area Internet networks, 264 Marathon satellites dedicated to the Internet of Things, in addition to 2 Yamal communications satellites, 3 Smotr Earth remote sensing satellites, 84 Berkut-O and Berkut-VD satellites, and 12 Berkut-X and Berkut-XLP satellites.   LINK

MZ: We are hearing some great things and I am really being leaned on to not share specifics. So, I am only going to share what I can without getting anyone in trouble.

MZ: In Iraq “Dr. Allawi has presented a vision for the economy of Iraq….They would like to point out that now is the ideal time while they have the extra revenue and money coming in from oil sales” This is really good news for us….

MZ: The CBI once again stressed that they are the only ones that can change the rate. It has nothing to do with the government. And as long as the government looks peaceful and settled they can go ahead and move forward with the rate. They let us know this again today. We find this very interesting.

MZ: Usually you don’t want to strengthen your currency if there is a trade imbalance where you ship out more than you ship in….Iraq does not have to worry about this. They can have as strong a currency as they want. This will allow them to buy goods from outside the country at a lower rate. There number one export is oil, which will not be affected if their currency is way up and worth more.

MZ: This is literally the best time historically to date for them to revalue…..This is the chatter going on it Iraq right now as we speak.  There has been really good stuff coming out of Iraq over the last 36 hours.

MZ: “Indian company swapping dollars for Asian currencies to buy Russian coal”   India is knee deep in trading with Russia right now. Regardless of what the US wants.  

Member: I heard the rumr that 4b was going first. Not what we have been expecting. Anyone else heard that? Bottom up, not top down.

So your banks must participate on this platform no later than August 15, 2022.” 

MZ: This is from the CBI. They are giving us every hint we need for their goals at this time. This is huge.

Member: I’m excited there still good news around Aug 15th… really looking forward to moving forward even if it’s tiny steps at a time.

MZ: Other than that it’s been pretty quiet on the RV front. I spoke to pretty much all of my contacts …I should have an update by this evening on what they are telling the redemption center folks  about the weekend….They expect to know this afternoon how to plan this weekend.

Member: Nader was discussing the article about Dinar floating. The article said that floating would hurt economy. Nader said it would not.

Member: So glad there is no floating…..Now we just need them to Reinstate the old rate of at least $3.22

CandyKisses:  About 300 Iraqi officials and ministers accused of corruption and integrity cases recover two trillion dinars 

The Federal Integrity Commission announced, on Thursday, that 39 ministers and those of his rank and (241) of those with special grades, general managers and those of their rank, are among the accused in criminal cases.

She explained, during a press conference, that during the first half of this year, she considered (34,209) communications, reports and criminal cases, distributed among (8,877) communications, (10,535) reports, and (14,797) criminal cases.

It noted the recovery and prevention of wasting (1,773,380,063,273) dinars of public funds to the account of the public treasury through its deterrent and preventive measures.

The authority indicated that these amounts represent what has been actually recovered to the account of the public treasury, or those that have been revealed, or the funds that have been issued court rulings to return them, which prevented and stopped their waste.

Integrity also said that its investigations led to the issuance of (731) arrest warrants by the judicial authorities, of which (396) were executed, including (8) ministers and those of his rank, and (53) of those with special degrees, general managers and those of their rank.

Integrity revealed that, during the first six months of this year, it worked on (58) files related to fugitives wanted in corruption cases, of which (23) files were processed, including (11) files against people with special degrees, general managers and those of their rank, in addition to (104 ) Files to recover the smuggled money, in which (166) judicial decisions were issued.

 She indicated that she had prepared, during the same period (9) drafts of cooperation agreements and memoranda of understanding with Iraqi, Arab and international ministries and governmental institutions, one of which was concluded.

Tishwash:  The Central Bank Announces An Increase In Its Cash Reserves To 82 Billion Dollars

On Thursday, the Central Bank of Iraq revealed that cash reserves had risen to $82 billion, as well as an increase in its gold balance to record levels.

The official spokesman for the Central Bank, Omar Asim, said in a statement reported by the official "Al-Sabah" newspaper, which was seen by "The Information", that "the bank's reserves currently amount to 82 billion dollars."

Assem added, "Iraq also advanced 10 ranks in the table of countries with the most gold, to become the thirtieth in the world and fourth in the Arab world, as its total possessions exceeded 130 tons, after purchasing an additional 34 tons, and this came within the bank's policy to achieve stability and ability to confront Local and international economic variables.

Gold is one of the most important assets held by central banks and international financial institutions, due to its acceptance at the level of international dealings.  link

Muhammad al-Iraqi said in his blog post, which was followed by Alsumaria News, “The reform-lovers should prepare (to support reform) by gathering each in his governorate, and at five o’clock tomorrow, Friday, you will be rewarded with the best reward and stay until further notice from this page, not the forged pages, for several reasons:

First: Envying the corrupt... and you do not tread on any foothold that enrages the corrupt except that a good deed is written for you with it.

Second: Fill out legal forms to be submitted to the judiciary in order to dissolve Parliament.
Third: Condolences to the Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, on the third imam: the day of burial of pure bodies

He continued, "As we have promised you, we are obedient and patient in the heat of the weather for the sake of the love of the people of the house and the love of reforming them. Do not fall short of that."

He stated, "There are no demonstrations in Najaf, I hope you abide by that."

Harambe:  Indonesia’s Rupiah Seen Rising to One-Year High as Funds Return | Bloomberg (8/11/22)

Indonesia’s rupiah will advance to the strongest level in almost a year as the country’s trade surplus and attractive yields lure overseas investors to local stocks and bonds, according to TD Securities.

The currency will appreciate to 14,057 per dollar in the next three months, matching the high set in October 2021, said Mitul Kotecha, head of emerging-market strategy at the company in Singapore. Attractive bond yields, rising palm oil exports to China, improving terms of trade and the prospect of interest-rate hikes should all support the currency, he said

“Indonesia is finally seeing a return of flows into both its bond and equity markets, marking a significant reversal from the previous weak trend,” Kotecha wrote in a note to clients Wednesday. The report was published before the release of the US July inflation data.

The rupiah climbed 0.5% Thursday to 14,798 per dollar as Asian currencies were boosted by the slide in the dollar after US inflation figures missed estimates. The rupiah has now extended its recovery from a two-year low of 15,038 set last month to about 1.6%.

Bank Indonesia has so far pushed back against raising rates, predicting that food-price inflation may ease in coming months. While the central bank has played for time, the Federal Reserve has been aggressively tightening, although the deceleration of US inflation last month may slow its pace of rate hikes.

Bank Indonesia is likely to start its rate-hike cycle this month and shift its stance “towards a less accommodative one”, which should also help support the rupiah, Kotecha said.

The central bank will also continue to defend the currency at the 15,000 level, while “relatively higher real policy rates than other countries in Asia also offers the IDR more protection”, he wrote.

Indonesian bonds are attractive as markets refocus on economic fundamentals following the selloff in emerging-market debt and Treasuries, JPMorgan Asset Management said last month.
