The independent deputy and winner of the fifth electoral cycle, Basem Khashan, ruled out, on Thursday, the formation of the Saddiya bloc, the majority government.

Khashan said, in a statement to the “Information” agency, that “the first way will be towards forming a majority government, and this matter will not be on the part of the Sadrist movement, but on the contrary, Maliki’s bloc is the most politically efficient in front of the Sadrist bloc, and therefore it can go through the experience of the majority.”

He added, “The other way is consensual, and this matter may return in the situation and circumstances to the first points, where it is not possible to progress and make any reform, because there is a consensus that has taken place on institutions, ministries, and positions, and every party will be commanded in one way or another.”
