Butterfly Masrour Barzani and the Emir of Qatar are discussing, by phone, increasing trade exchange and promoting investment

Friday 14, May 2021 22:28 ........The President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, discussed this evening, Friday, by phone with the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to strengthen relations between the region and the Gulf state.

A regional government statement said that the two sides "exchanged congratulations and blessings on the occasion of the blessed Eid Al-Fitr."

Barzani expressed during the call, "his appreciation for the condemnation of the State of Qatar for the recent attacks on Erbil International Airport, and discussed the latest regional developments."

The two sides expressed their "common readiness to increase trade exchange between the two sides and enhance investment, and it was agreed to maintain close contact on issues of common concern."

Friday 14, May 2021 22:54........The US embassy in Jerusalem announced today, Friday, the arrival of Hadi Amr, Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Israeli-Palestinian Affairs, to Tel Aviv, as part of Washington’s efforts to reach a permanent calm.

The embassy said, in a tweet on Twitter, that Amr arrived in "Tel Aviv today to promote work towards a sustainable calm, and the recognition of Israel's right to self-defense."

Amr served as the deputy special presidential envoy for negotiations between the Palestinians and the Israelis from 2014 to 2017.

The move comes at a time when the US President, Joe Biden, is under increasing pressure from Democratic leaders in Congress to take a more assertive stance to contain the violence in the region.

butterfly Launching 3 missiles from Syria at Israel Friday 14, May 2021 22:53 ...........The Israeli army announced, on Friday, that 3 missiles were launched from Syrian territory at Israel.

The Israeli army spokesman, Avichai Adrai, said on Twitter: "A short while ago, three rockets were detected from inside Syria towards Israeli territory, one of which landed inside Syrian territory, while the two rockets landed in open areas inside Israel."

Israeli media reported that the missile attack warning system was not activated during the incident.

The incident coincides with the launch by Israel, since May 8, of a massive bombing campaign on the Gaza Strip, killing at least 126 people, including more than 30 children.

Yesterday, Thursday, the Israeli army announced that 3 rockets had been launched from southern Lebanon at Israel, which fell into the waters of the Mediterranean Sea without causing any casualties, and no party had claimed responsibility for this attack.

"The number of victims in the second year of the pandemic may be greater than the first year," said WHO Secretary-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, adding that India's situation is of great concern.

He continued in a virtual meeting in Geneva, "I understand why some countries want to vaccinate their children, but at the present time I urge them to reconsider their plans and donate vaccines as an alternative to that to Kovacs."
