A number of Iraqi provinces announced the disruption of official working hours on Sunday. 
The Wasit Provincial Council decided to suspend official working hours on Sunday in solidarity with the demonstrators.

The Babylon Council also announced on Saturday, the suspension of official working in the province for a day tomorrow for the same reason.

The Dhi Qar Council also ordered the suspension of working hours on Sunday.

The Maysan Provincial Council announced the disruption of official working hours in the province for the same reason.   link

Samson:  Iran : Dozens of Iranian Kurds killed and wounded by security forces

Some 90 people were killed and injured during popular demonstrations in Iran after the government raised gasoline prices, sources said on Sunday.

Human rights organizations said that 11 people were killed by Iranian security forces in the Kurdish cities of Sunnah and Mariwan, in addition to the injury of about 25 people, including children.

It added that the city of Guanro witnessed the killing of six demonstrators, and injured 43 people.  LINK

Samson:  In response to the interruption of the Internet .. Ask technology companies to disable the accounts of Iranian officials

A consultant in the US State Department called on major internet companies to disable the official accounts of Iranian officials in response to the authorities' interruption of the Internet in conjunction with the demonstrations taking place in the country.

Lin Khodorkovsky said in a tweet on Twitter that digital media companies should disable the Iranian government accounts until the regime reopens the Internet.

Clashes have intensified since Friday between demonstrators in about 50 Iranian cities and security forces after protests against the rise in fuel prices, and protesters shouted angry calls to overthrow the regime. The protests erupted on Friday, hours after the announcement of a 50 percent rise in gasoline prices for the first 60 liters of gasoline purchased each month and 300 percent for each additional liter each month.

In the wake of the protests that hit Iranian cities, reports of Internet outages cited some of the city witnessing the demonstrations. On Sunday, the Iranian authorities admitted that the Internet service was down 24 hours. Social media activists carried pictures and videos of protesters blocking the main streets of Tehran, Isfahan and other major cities.

There were protests in some areas that led to the closure of the streets by cars, as happened in the city of Sanandaj, Karaj, Shiraz, Tehran, Isfahan, and others. The protesters carried slogans and chanted angry slogans calling for the overthrow of the regime and "Death to the dictator" in the city of Karaj, in central Iran.   LINK

Samson:  Iran - Fars: Around 1,000 people arrested in protests in two days

Twenty thousand people have been arrested in the past two days during violent protests in the country over rising gasoline prices, the Fars news agency reported on Sunday. "The number of demonstrators since Friday night has reached 87,400 people (82,200 men and 5,200 women),"

IRNA said, citing a report by an Iranian security agency. She added: "An important part of the protesters were away from the riots and violence, and sent many of them warning messages from the security services."

The agency pointed out that "the part that practiced riots trainee, and was waiting to wait for such events, unlike the rest of the demonstrators," noting that "the protests took place in 100 areas of the country, and the number of demonstrators at each point between 500 and 100." "The scale of violence, riots and the destruction of public property was wider than the 2007 protests," Fares said. "The material and human losses were greater. The most casualties were in Sirjan and related to the armed attack on oil depots and military centers."

The security report on the "killing of a number of police and protesters in the armed attack on oil depots in Sirjan."

Iran is witnessing violent protests that erupted in several areas following the increase in gasoline prices, which the government said was "part of the measures to rationalize support and achieve social justice."   LINK

Decision makers in Iraq, Lebanon and Iran have a chance to avoid sedition and fulfill legitimate demands, said political analyst Hazem al-Bawi, pointing out that Ibn Salman's threat to take the battle to Iran must be addressed in response to the demands of the people.

Al-Bawi said in a statement to the information, that "the outbreak of popular demonstrations, as demanded in three countries during close periods, raises the question of the causes and the beneficiary party and the affected by them away from faith in the conspiracy theory."

He added that "the pledge of Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has been after the bombing of the giant oil facility Aramco by the Yemeni march to take the battle to the depth of Iran, must be heeded and remedied what might happen in the country." He pointed out that "the ball in the court of decision-makers in the three countries to investigate and find out the truth of the reasons for the outbreak of protests and prevent their aggravation in accordance with a roadmap that cuts off sedition and meets legitimate popular demands."   LINK

Iran's central bank says the country's currency market is fluctuating but will stabilize.

In a related context, the official Iranian media said that 100 banks and shops were looted during the demonstrations.

Iran is witnessing mass protests after gasoline prices have been raised by more than 50 percent.

The protests, involving more than 100 Iranian cities, led to widespread riots and the burning of government and other headquarters of banks and Basij forces.   LINK

Paris descends into chaos on anniversary of 'Yellow Vests' protests

Paris police fired tear gas in northwestern Paris on Saturday to drive back protesters on the first year anniversary weekend of anti-government “yellow vest” demonstrations.

 Clashes broke out between demonstrators and police near the Porte de Champerret as protesters were preparing to march across town towards Gare d’Austerlitz in southern Paris while police also intervened to prevent a few hundred demonstrators from occupying the Paris ring road, according to Reuters TV footage.

Paris police said 24 people had been arrested by 0950 GMT. The so-called Yellow Vest protests erupted in mid-November 2018 originally over fuel price hikes and the high cost of living but spiraled into a broader movement against President Emmanuel Macron and his drive for economic reforms.
