Launching The Initiative To Form The “Reform Of The Nation” Grouping... And The Sadrist Bloc Is The First To Join

Al-Fayez, whose coalition won five parliamentary seats, said that "the Tasmeem coalition launched the initiative to form a grouping (Reform of the Homeland), and the first political bloc that expressed a desire to join it was the Sadrist bloc," noting that "negotiations are still ongoing regarding joining it."
And he stated, "The Sadrists set a condition to join the (Reform of the Nation), which is that the rule of law, led by Nuri al-Maliki, should not join it."
Al-Fayez added, "Negotiations are still ongoing, because all the blocs wishing to join the assembly did not agree to the condition of the Sadrist bloc."
He pointed out that if his alliance fails to form a "Reform of the Nation" group, he will remain neutral between the Sadrist bloc and the coordination framework and activate the alternative plan of bringing together all the independents who won the recent elections (individuals and blocs) under one umbrella in the first session of the House of Representatives.
The competition is still fierce between the Sadrist movement and the coordination framework to form the largest parliamentary bloc that will be entrusted with the task of forming the next government.
The Sadrist bloc topped the results of the elections that took place last October with 73 seats out of 329, followed by the "Progress" coalition with 37 seats, the "State of Law" coalition with 33 seats, and the Kurdistan Democratic Party with 31 seats.
Al-Sadr seeks to form a “national majority” government, in contrast to the coordination framework that works to form a consensual government similar to previous governments.
