International Monetary Intends To Cut Global Economic Growth Forecasts For This Reason
Economie Fri, Jun 10 2022 5:47 PM National News Center/ Baghdad International Monetary Fund spokesman Jerry Rice said that "the fund intends to reduce the forecast for global economic growth for this year due to a combination of factors, chief among them the continuation of the Russian military operation against Ukraine, high inflation, and slowing economic growth in China due to the restrictions of the closure."
The international official indicated that "it is possible to reduce the global growth forecast compared to the expectations issued last April, in light of these developments."
International Monetary Fund spokesman Gerry Rice added that “the war in Ukraine continues, commodity prices are still very volatile, energy prices, especially food prices, are very high, and inflation continues to accelerate, especially in a number of advanced economies, which leads to tightening monetary policy, in addition to slowing performance of the Chinese economy.
Earlier, the World Bank surprised the markets and lowered global economic growth forecasts, as the World Bank expected the global economy to grow by only 2.9% this year, compared to its previous forecast last January, which was about 4.1%. https://nnciraq.com/133955/
A Parliamentary Proposal To Transfer Ration Amounts To The Citizen Electronically
Money and business Economy News-Baghdad The independent representative of Diyala Governorate, Salah Zaini, called on Saturday, the Federal Ministry of Trade, to transfer the ration card funds allocated to each citizen into cash, to end suspicions of corruption in the purchase, distribution and storage operations .
The ration is a limited package of basic foodstuffs, distributed by the Iraqi Ministry of Trade monthly at a symbolic price to everyone who lives in Iraq, as its distribution began in September 1990 to alleviate the consequences of the economic embargo imposed by the UN Security Council by Resolution No. 661 on August 6 1990 on Iraq as a result of the invasion of Kuwait .
The vocabulary of the ration card is a basic food source for the majority of Iraqi families because poverty and limited income take in an additional morsel of vulnerable groups in society day after day, and in return corruption and lack of oversight gnaw on these humble vocabulary .
Zainy explained, during his speech to Shafaq News Agency, that "disbursing these amounts through electronic payment cards (Master Card), would eliminate all doors of corruption and protect public money from waste and loss ."
He pointed out that there are "suspicions of corruption surrounding the purchase, distribution, storage and destruction of damaged materials in the ration card management file," wondering about "the real statistics included in the ration card and those withheld from them ."
The deputy pointed out that there are “parliamentary objections from the independents to the Food Security Law, and crucial issues concerning the Iraqi people and their strength from the ration card in particular,” adding, “We did not vote on the Food Security Law, except after correcting some of its paragraphs despite our reservations about the amounts of the ration card .” .
