A member of the Finance Committee revealed that the imminent entry into force of the oil and gas law.

Committee member Sherwan Mirza said in a press statement, "One of the recommendations made by the Finance Committee to the Presidency of the House of Representatives after hosting the Minister of Finance is the legislation of the oil and gas law during the new legislative term." 

He added, "The oil and gas law has political dimensions as it is linked to relations between the Kurdistan region and the federal government and the province of Basra and Baghdad and all oil-producing provinces in addition to Kirkuk."

They'll also need to have the economic reforms in place at an international level  to support the new economy to come.

Attracting foreign capital is clearly going to come from a new exchange mechanism in place. Lets see if the ISX / NASDAQI provides the platform to allow that foriegn capital to have free un fettered movement!!

I sure would like to see the mechanism's being shown on electronic bill boards in the news to come now or ASAP.. lol.. imo ~ MM

Economist: Reprinting the coin will reduce the burden of paper damage

Economic expert Latif al-Okaili said on Saturday that the government's approach to reprinting the currency would ease the burden of damage to banknotes in the markets.

Al-Okaili said in a statement to Al-Maalouma that the use of the metal categories and their descent for trading gives a notional value to the currency as it aims to preserve the currency and not need to request more banknotes, especially those with small categories. "This is a negative indicator of the country's economy."

The Department of Foreign Relations in the Kurdistan Regional Government, on Friday, agreed with the Iraqi Foreign Minister that the region to participate in the Iraqi foreign delegations in international conferences and meetings.

"The Foreign Minister Mohammed Ali al-Hakim and the official of the department, Sven Dziaye, discussed the future plans of conferences, meetings, events and international activities and participated in them with unified delegations including both sides, contrary to what was going on with the unilateral participation of both sides in previous years," the department said in a statement.
