Fuze:  I would be surprised if this act releases the ri/rv, because I'm confident its not enough to satisfy demonstrators. After the first child fell from a snipers bullet,  the price of peace includes the Gauranteed change of the GOI and economic reforms.

I think the only hands the demonstrators will accept payment from is the UN; certainly not from the hands of treasonous murderous.

What happened to the UN National Dialogue Initiative that was being feverishly drafted and negotiated last week?  That I think is the big question! 

Let me try and answer it. Those "knuckle heads" in the GOI as our illustrious host so eloquently put it, are probably trying to avoid yielding to and submitting to the UN plan, by attempting to pass off Mahdi's 2018 proposed reforms in one last attempt to fool the demonstrators. IMO,  they are waisting time. Why?  Because they the GOI, dosen't have the credibility to provide a plan that the demonstrators would accept, no matter what it is....IMO

Blinkster:  How about this event facilitates/enables what they want?  Methinks that's probable. IMO.

MilitiaMan:  I do as well that it is very probable imo. The writing is on the wall now. They had a evening session that may have witnessed an unprecedented event.

The most unprecedented event to occur at this point is possibly two things, firstly, get the lead out and give the go ahead for the CBI to release what was delivered to the banks, to the citizens. Then, have agreements on the future of the GOI.

By having the funds to alleviate the pain and suffering (Note, never enough of course.), thus, having the room to act on the future plans of sorting the GOI properly along with the UNs help. The citizens are being guided by those that are smart enough to know that to do a complex government change requires patience, clarity, transparency and legalese. Those things will be thought about while facilitating the change that is coming. 

Frank has spoken to WS of late imo and there is indication from that, that the banks maybe or are ready for the citizens with NSCNs (small category notes).

WS's word "INCOMING" imo means be prepared for what we expect and that is an explosive event. An unprecedented event may have been within that meeting to trigger it.

A specialized company has ranked the most dangerous countries in the tourism sector and is located mainly in Africa and the Middle East.

Samson:  US Treasury reveals involvement of six companies in Turkey and Syria with ISIS financing

United States on Monday imposed sanctions on five entities and four personalities, most of them stationed in Turkey, for supporting and funding ISIS.

The Treasury Department said in a statement that the State Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control had imposed sanctions on five entities and four personalities for providing "vital financial and logistical support" to the internationally classified terrorist organization.

US Treasury Secretary Stephen Mnuchin said in the statement that these measures are part of the "contribution of the Department" in the efforts of the administration of President, Donald Trump, to "destroy the remaining terrorist cells of ISIS permanently," noting that this assistance comes through taking steps "to reduce "The organization's ability to recruit and arm fighters around the world by undermining its financial position."

Deputy Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Qubad Talabani, said that the status of Iraq to place it today has not been spent 10% of the funds allocated to him after 2003 properly.

Talabani's speech came during a speech on Tuesday 19/11/2019 during the work of the Forum (peace and security in the Middle East) at the American University in the province of Dohuk. "From 2003 until now, tens of billions of dollars have been allocated in Iraq for reconstruction, for example, if 10 percent of that money had been properly disbursed, we would have seen Iraq 15 years later," Talabani said.

He added, "Iraq's problem of corruption and the mentality of some and patronage, and even Kouchner - former French Foreign Minister and a participant in the forum - had a role in the Iraqi government will not be able to change anything." He commented on the protests in Iraq and said they did not come out of the blue, they are the result of poor governance and rampant corruption, this was born resentful citizens.

He cited an example: "The masses are demanding services and improving the living situation, and the political parties in Baghdad are moving to amend the constitution, and this has nothing to do with the demands of the demonstrators simply." The House of Representatives, its regular session on Tuesday evening. The House session could witness an unprecedented event by voting on an important package of laws at once.

The Council is scheduled to vote on six important laws: (Law on the abolition of financial privileges of officials in the state and amend the law of the elections of the provincial councils and the law of unified retirement and health insurance and the amendment of the Commission on Integrity - the first reading of the law) Parliament.

The vote coincides with the largest public pressure after 2003, where popular demonstrations have continued in the country since the beginning of last month demanding reforms, fighting corruption and improving the living and service conditions.

The pressure prompted 12 political forces at a meeting on Monday to agree on important decisions and recommendations to demand the protesters' demands and ease the crisis. 

 The meeting was attended by alliance of conquest, victory coalition, the rule of law, the coalition of Iraqi forces, the Kurdistan Democratic Party, the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, the stream of wisdom, the National Coalition, the Salvation and Development Front, the National Tender Bloc, the National Contract Block and the Turkmen Front, and the absence of the Alliance.

Participants in the meeting agreed on six resolutions and recommendations in addition to five important proposals, while threatening to withdraw confidence from the government and hold early elections if it shows the inability of the government or the House of Representatives to implement the articles and steps mentioned within the timings indicated.   LINK

Protesters blocked roads leading to five oil fields and two ports in the southernmost province of Basra by setting fire to old tires, an official security source said on Monday.

The source told Shafaq News that the protesters blocked roads this morning to the sites and oil fields in the district of Zubair west of Basra.

The source pointed out that the roads that were cut in Zubair are: Shuaiba oil refinery road, Barjasiya oil city road, cutting the road leading to Rumaila area, and the road leading to the oil well 20 area.

The source added that the protesters in the Khor Al-Zubair area blocked all roads leading to the iron and steel plant, fertilizers and cement, and the ports of Khor Al-Zubair and the port of Umm Qasr

Protesters blocked the road to the bin Omar oil field in the Dair area north of Basra and prevented employees from reaching it, the source said.   LINK

The Integrity Commission announced on Monday that it was able to thwart an attempt to destroy files of corruption in one of the offices of the inspected public inspectors, while referring those involved in the attempt to the judiciary.

Speaking about the details of the operation, the Investigations Department of the Commission noted that it had received information through its own sources about the existence of an attempt to destroy files of corruption, including documents and records of investigative committees, official communications, recommendations and original books through smuggling them through waste containers after being torn by hand or by destruction devices.

She added that she seized the files and protozoans, and verified what was destroyed, and the containers that were wanted to smuggle those priorities and files through the office building, and documented the details of the process video and photographic. She pointed out that it referred those involved in the attempt to the judiciary according to a fundamentalist record to take the necessary action against them according to the law.

The economic adviser to Prime Minister Abdul-Hussein Al-Hanin, on Sunday, to send the budget 2020 to the House of Representatives within a week, indicating that the discussions are still under way and amendments by the Committee of Experts.

A statement from the leadership said, "With the cooperation and news of peaceful demonstrators, the Baghdad Operations Command was able to arrest a gang of ten defendants who tried to approach the Central Bank in order to steal and damage, after midnight Sunday, November 17, 2019.''

The Iraqi expert in the law, Ali al-Tamimi, likely to return Iraq under Article VII because of human rights violations included in the recent protests and the use of excessive violence by the Iraqi government.

MilitiaMan:  The Finance Minister, Alaq and Mahdi in the same room for what? We all know what the implications are. They are talking money and how that will effect the demands of the citizens and their purchasing power. imo 

The timing of it is no coincidence imo. Nor is the timing of the CBI publishing the article noted in post #54. Modifying contracts is change. This article has massive implications for us. Once a rate changes the contracts will be modified accordingly to reflect equivalency.

This article may very well be an integral component that is preceding full compliance with Article 8. I am not saying this is a smoking gun, but, it clearly has fire power with it's timing and the implications that come from it. It is limited in content yes, but, the wording used is specific, powerful and it just may be enough to have put everyone on notice that the next step is close at hand. They use the wording "in the event of the merger".

That is saying a merger is coming, imo. Companies will need to amend contracts to be fair!!! The amount of currency dispensed will need to be amended accordingly!!! That notice from the CBI today on the back drop of yesterdays meeting makes me believe that the speed Frank is talking about is front and center now.

The CBI probably told the Finance Minister and Mahdi to get the lead out.. lol As, the pricing in country has been fluctuating of late, hence, they may have sped up auctions to contain that?

So, they all know that this should have been done a along time ago (GOI knuckle heads) and now they apparently know they painted them selves into a corner and the demonstrations proved it. The MR's have to get done.. And now that appears to be the case they will. 

Notice below that the Blocs, the Government, the United Nations (DADDY, effectively. imo) and the demonstrators have agreed to resolve the crisis. The only thing that will be put out over time now is the GOI demands not the monetary reforms. The monetary reforms will be the catalyst for the country to enter into a full market economy. The constitutional issues, as Mahdi rightfully mentions will take time, and they agreed on that apparently.

So don't let the GOI issues reflect against the CBI. My view is Mahdi and the Finance Minister may have finally given Alaq the green light, thus, the merger or modifications of contracts on cash withdrawal expectations. They were or are now in a pinch and needed to fix the pricing asap, then as noted they tell them to be ready to modify contracts. Those contracts are about currency.. imo.

The stability of the Iraqi Money Market is near they say.. Yes, they should say that too. As the CBI acted and still is acting on what is urgent. They cannot afford to lose control of the  internal fluctuations in the exchange rate going south any more than what it has. So all thing interlinked imo bodes so very well for us.. imo ~ MM
