This came in the words of Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Dana Straul, in a statement to Al-Jazeera.

On July 26, Baghdad and Washington reached an agreement to withdraw US combat forces from Iraq by the end of this year.

The Iraqi political forces and factions close to Iran are demanding the withdrawal of US forces from the country.

Imad Jamil, a member of the media team in the commission, told Shafak News Agency, “The commission will start extracting the final names in accordance with the decision of the Judicial Authority for Elections.”

He added that “the commission will then begin preparing the final names and sending them to the Federal Court for approval after classifying them according to the quota for women and minorities.”

Jamil pointed out that “the commission, after completing the consideration of the appeals by the judiciary, will send messages to the people that it organized an exceptional electoral process that was not tainted by any manipulation or fraud.”

The elections were held on the tenth of last October.

However, the announced preliminary results faced widespread objections from influential Shiite forces and factions, which created political and security tensions in the country.   shafaq.com

Wednesday 17 November 2021 23:09 International oil prices fell this evening by 3% to below $80 per barrel.

The price of a Brent barrel was below $80, for the first time since October 7.

The price of Brent oil futures contracts for the month of January decreased by 3.08%, to reach $79.9 a barrel, while the price of West Texas Intermediate oil futures decreased by 3.32%, to reach $77.09 a barrel.

Global oil prices have recorded a remarkable increase since October 2021, with the price of a barrel of Brent crude on the 5th of last month exceeding $83, for the first time since October 10, 2018.
