Butterfly Hurricane Ida raises global oil prices Monday 30 August 2021 11:12 .... Oil prices rose today, Monday, exceeding their highest levels in more than three weeks, as a strong hurricane swept the Gulf of Mexico, closing and evacuating hundreds of offshore oil platforms.
Brent crude rose 27 cents, or 0.4 percent, to $72.80 a barrel, and rose more than 11% last week in anticipation of the disruption to oil production. Today, Minister of Finance Ali Abdul-Amir Allawi chaired the meeting of the twentieth session of the Committee for the Preparation of the Federal General Budget Strategy for the medium term 2022-2024.
A statement issued by the ministry said that the meeting discussed basic topics, including public debt.
The meeting also completed the study of the mechanism for applying the proposed budget model, and discussed ways to prepare and implement the federal budget for the next year, in line with the reform plan adopted by the Iraqi government, which aims to conclude a budget that depends on performance and productive programs, according to the statement.
In addition, the meeting discussed the allocations of the General Pension Agency within the next year's budget, while the attendees stressed their support for the pension fund.
For his part, Allawi emphasized the importance of preparing and implementing the budget bill, following the prepared strategic plans that support the reform plans, giving priority to strategic projects implemented through development loans.

Reconstruction of the Central Bank of Iraq building in Old Mosul
Monday 30 August 2021 17:42 ........ The mayor of Mosul, Zuhair Al-Araji, announced today, Monday, the start of the reconstruction of the Central Bank of Iraq building in the old Mosul.
Al-Araji told the National Iraqi News Agency ( NINA ) that "the engineering cadres in the Mosul municipality finished removing the rubble from the Iraqi Central Bank building, which was subjected to aerial bombardment during the operation to liberate Mosul from the grip of ISIS."
He added that "the sums for the reconstruction of the bank were allocated and disbursed from the sums of the reconstruction of the second phase of the reconstruction of Mosul, with a working period of about (15) months."
