Tishwash: The government discloses the fate and size of Iraq's internal and external debts. They must be paid

Adviser to the Prime Minister for Financial Affairs, Mazhar Muhammad Salih, revealed today, Monday, that the government has paid many of the external and internal debts that are owed by the government, especially the internal ones that are limited to the ministries of state and the central bank, while the foreign ones are to the International Monetary Fund and .the World Bank

Saleh said, in an interview with (Baghdad Today), that "the size of the external debt amounts to 20 billion dollars or a little less, and the process of repaying it extends to 2028, and there are other debts within the (Paris Club) countries, which are before the nineties of the last century," noting that "the number of creditors They are eight countries with a value of up to 39 billion dollars, but these debts will be deducted 80% of those debts and 20% will remain, and we believe that all this amount will be ”.amortized, i.e. only the debts of the Paris Club countries

CandyKisses: The Finance Committee decides to host six ministers and the governor of the Central Bank

Shafaq News/ The Parliamentary Finance Committee headed by Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi held its first meeting during the current session today, Monday 28/3/2022, in the presence of Committee Chairman Hassan Karim Al-Kaabi and its members, to discuss the emergency support law and food security and start the second reading of the project after it was approved. First reading done.

Representatives had warned that the emergency food security and development support law would empty the state treasury and the next government would not find cash, in conjunction with the Iraqi parliament holding a session to discuss the law.

During the meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the Finance Committee, Al-Halbousi stressed the need to proceed with the legislation of the law as it addresses the problems facing the country "in the current circumstance", especially with the high prices and the damage caused to the weak and poor segments, adding the importance of providing legal cover for its legislation and the amendment of important texts.

He said that the aim of the draft law is what was mentioned in the compelling reasons, directed to host the governor of the Central Bank and those concerned to discuss the necessary measures.

The Parliamentary Finance, headed by Al-Kaabi, proceeded to read the report that was prepared to discuss the draft bill and conduct an extensive study, while hosting the stakeholders in the Ministries of Finance and Labor to include and take notes, especially in light of the financial abundance in the country, and the committee writes its final report and presents it to the Council.

Parliamentary Finance added that the draft law will support the creation of a special account authorizing the government to support food security and development through excess funds to achieve food security, noting the need for it to mature and to take a number of observations and amendments before submitting it to the parliament for a vote.

The Committee decided to host the Ministers of Finance and Trade next Wednesday to discuss the financial abundance and the ration card, provided that during the next week it will host the Ministers of Finance, Electricity, Planning, Agriculture, Labor and Trade, a number of relevant officials and the Governor of the Central Bank to discuss the related files.
