Tishwash: Parliamentarian attacks Iraq's oil file: expert role killed

Hammam al-Tamimi, a member of the parliamentary oil and energy committee, on Saturday criticized the continuing cases of financial and administrative corruption and delays in the oil ministry, calling for a radical review of the management of the oil file, in what he described iraq's monetary policy as a "failure."

"Iraq's monetary policy is unfortunately a failed policy, and the oil file is managed by people who are unable to change reality for the better and invest in natural resources to maximize the country's resources," Tamimi told Shafq News.

"There are many suspicions of corruption in the oil ministry and in many fields and oil reservoirs, and many fields have stopped producing with flimsy excuses," he said.

"Some political blocs hinder the interrogation of corrupt or incompetent ministers or executives, and every political party adopts, defends and obstructs any procedures for questioning him," tamimi said.
