Tishwash:  The discovery of a gold and silver mine in western Turkey worth about 100 billion dollars

Turkish Minister of Industry and Technology, Mustafa Warnik, announced the discovery of a gold and silver mine in the state of Çanakkale, western Turkey, with an estimated value of gold and silver in it between 80 and 100 billion US dollars.

Warnek said in a statement today: A gold and silver mine was discovered in the state of Çanakkale, the value of gold and silver in it is estimated between 80 and 100 billion US dollars, and the extraction of these minerals must begin because of their great importance in the Turkish economy, noting that “the current production of gold reached 42 tons annually.

Warnek had announced in June of last year the discovery of a gold mine in the state of Ağrı in eastern Turkey, with a quantity of 20 tons and a value of 1.2 billion dollars, in addition to 3.5 tons of silver worth 2.8 million dollars.

It is noteworthy that the mining activity in the gold sector began in Turkey for the first time in 2001, in the “Yergama” mine in the state of Izmir, western Turkey, during which 340 tons have been extracted since that time.

Gold production, according to specialists in this field, requires long-term research and long-term investment, and Turkey aims to raise its gold production to 100 tons annually in the coming years link

Candykisses:  An economist explains why the Central Bank of Iraq wanted to buy gold

The economic expert, Duraid Al-Anzi, explained, today, Thursday, the reason for the Central Bank of Iraq's desire to buy gold.

Al-Enezi said (to Euphrates News) that: "The global economic situation is fluctuating, as dollar prices are falling and reflected in the decline in gold prices, as well as the euro has declined historically, and oil prices today have clearly fallen."

He added, "Gold is not infallible from the decline in its prices, and it is not excluded from its impact on the global market," justifying the reason for the Iraqi Central Bank's purchase of gold quantities "to be the first in the world to buy gold as a result of the economic vacuum in the country."

Al-Enezi pointed out, "The lack of exchange outlets is caused by the lack of political and economic stability and the lack of administrative authority of the government." And the Central Bank of Iraq announced that Iraq advanced ten ranks in the list of countries with the most gold reserves, bringing its total possessions to (130.39) tons, ranking thirty in the world and fourth in the Arab world.

The price of gold globally is affected by the extent of raising and decreasing the value of the dollar, as it is in an inverse relationship between gold and the basket of global currencies such as: the dollar, the euro, the Japanese yen, the British pound, the Chinese yuan, and other currencies.

The value of currencies fell, the price of gold rose, while the local market in the Kingdom is directly affected by the global market.

Tishwash:  The Sadrist Movement demands that Al-Kazemi dissolve the Iraqi parliament

The leader of the Sadrist movement, Jaafar al-Moussawi, called on the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa al-Kazemi, yesterday, to dissolve parliament in a practical application of the call of the movement's leader, Muqtada al-Sadr, to hold early elections, hoping to end the worsening political crisis in the country.

Al-Moussawi called Al-Kazemi to submit a request to the President of the Iraqi Republic, according to the Iraqi constitution, to dissolve the current parliament, and to call for early elections within a maximum period of 60 days from the date of dissolving the parliament.

Parliament may be dissolved with the approval of an absolute majority at the request of one-third of the members, or the prime minister, and with the approval of the President of the Republic, in accordance with the constitution. But some of them questioned Al-Kazemi's eligibility to demand the dissolution of Parliament, given that his government became a business administration after the October elections.

In the meantime, it is expected that the grand celebration square in the center of the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, will witness a “million” Friday prayer for the protesters and those who join them from the rest of the provinces, called by the leader of the Sadrist movement Muqtada al-Sadr, at a time when calls are rising to sit at the dialogue table between the political forces in order to Negotiating the formation of the government and ending the sit-ins that began last Saturday inside the Green Zone.
Al-Sadr called in a speech, yesterday, to dissolve parliament and hold new elections, in which he did not confirm or deny participation.

Against the background of the speech, Hadi al-Amiri, head of the "Al-Fateh" coalition, who is part of the "coordinating framework", announced his support for holding the early elections called for by al-Sadr. Al-Amiri said in a statement: "We support holding the early elections called for by Muqtada al-Sadr, especially since the previous elections were marred by many suspicions and objections."

For his part, the researcher and analyst in Iraqi political affairs, Al-Qasim Al-Abadi, said in a statement to Al-Ittihad that “Al-Sadr is in front of an equation to prove that thousands of protesters have achieved the goals faster than 74 deputies in Parliament, and even faster than the tripartite alliance that has the majority in Parliament.” Independent MP Basem Khashan described the task of amending the constitution as "almost impossible", while stressing that there is a great opportunity for the return of mass protests such as the "October demonstrations" that began in October 2019, after which the government of Adel Abdul-Mahdi resigned.   link
