Tishwash:  Oil expert: Corruption prevented Iraq from reaching 7 million barrels per day

The oil expert, Hamza Al-Jawahiri, ruled out that Iraq's production would reach 8 million barrels per day during the next few years.

On June 19, 2022, Oil Minister Ihsan Abdul-Jabbar Ismail confirmed that oil production will reach 8 million barrels per day during 2027.

Al-Jawahiri said that it is difficult for Iraq's production to reach 8 million barrels per day, due to the failure to implement the sea water project, which transports water from the sea into the fields.

He added that the implementation of this project needs 3 years with hard work, in addition to digging wells and building an electricity system.

He stressed that corruption and some parties were prevented from raising Iraq's oil production to 7 million barrels per day now, through their interventions in stopping some projects, adding that Exxon Mobil presented an offer in 2011 to implement the sea water project, but it was stopped by the hand of corruption.

He pointed out that Iraq's oil production is now supposed to reach 7 million barrels per day, but today it reaches 4.6 million barrels   link

Tishwash:  The Sadrist preacher for the three presidencies and parties: Your dialogues are for your interests and staying in power

Muhannad al-Moussawi, a preacher and imam of the Green Zone of the Sadrist movement, said that the dialogues sponsored by the three presidencies with political forces and parties to get out of the current crisis in the country are aimed at achieving "partisan interests and staying in power."

Al-Moussawi said in the Friday prayer sermon in front of crowds of protesters from the supporters of the Sadrist movement, that "it is not hidden from everyone that the people are the basic component of the state and it is prior to all considerations, and it is the capital of the government and states, and through and for which constitutions are written, laws are legislated, and decisions are issued in order to In the end, it is in his interest, comfort and security."

He stressed that "the will of the people is stronger than tyrants, and the people remain the ones who decide their fate by themselves, no matter how far the tyrants go," adding that "destiny responds to the people as long as the people are free and ignorant of grievance like you, revolutionaries and free people," addressing the protest movement's supporters.

Al-Moussawi went on to say, "The most beautiful text in our constitution is that the people are the source of authority. The people's revolt against corruption and the corrupt is not against the state (...) and when there are parties that do not respect the people, they have no right in this country."

He explained that "the meaning of the people is the source of the authorities. They are the subject of respect and appreciation, but on the condition that they respect the people, and the three authorities could not stand on their feet without the sacrifices of the people, and all the authorities could not continue if the sacrifices of the Imam's army, the companies, the crowd and the Tishreen revolutionaries."

The preacher of the Sadrists stated that what the three authorities enjoy, "is a product of the suffering of the people, and that the authorities did not feel hope and did not lose dear ones for the sake of this country."

Al-Moussawi addressed the three presidencies and leaders of the forces and political parties, saying: The political dialogues are for your political and partisan interests, and for your staying in power, stressing that "these dialogues have no value to us and we do not value them."
