Tishwash:  Brent jumps to $84.28 a barrel

Oil prices jumped on Friday, heading towards achieving weekly gains of more than two percent, amid increasing indications of a tight supply over the next few months.

Brent crude futures rose 28 cents, or 0.3 percent, to $ 84.28 a barrel at 01:56 GMT, after rising 82 cents in the previous session, heading towards a rise of 2.3 percent during the week.

US West Texas crude contracts also rose 30 cents, or 0.4 percent, to $ 81.61 a barrel, after an increase of 87 cents yesterday, Thursday, to be on the way to achieving a weekly gain of three percent.

Analysts pointed to a sharp decline in oil stocks in the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development, to their lowest level since 2015.

Demand has rebounded with the recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as industry shifting away from expensive gas and coal to fuel oil and diesel for energy.

"This energy crisis, particularly in coal and gas, ... has benefited oil," said Vivek Dar, a commodities analyst at the Commonwealth Bank.

The International Energy Agency said on Thursday that the energy crisis is expected to boost oil demand by 500,000 barrels per day.

This will lead to a supply gap of about 700,000 barrels per day until the end of this year, until the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and its allies (OPEC +) add more supplies as planned in January.  link

The head of the Sadrist movement's political body and a member of the negotiating committee, Nassar al-Rubaie, commented on Friday regarding the next stage, stressing that the new government will not be subject to political consensus and its head from the movement.

Al-Rubaie said, "The next government is not consensual, and it will be a government governed by political parties and not subject to political consensus so that it will be a problem of all components, and the opposition will be from all components."

He pointed out that "the Sadrist movement will turn the partisan right into a national entitlement," stressing that "the Sadrist bloc will announce it frankly that their candidate for prime minister is from the Sadrist movement."

He continued, "The next government is directly responsible for the Sadrist movement and will bear all the failures.   link

Tishwash:  The Sadrist movement denies a statement attributed to Nassar al-Rubaie about the shape of the next government

On Friday, the Sadrist movement's political body denied that a member of the Sadrist bloc's negotiating team, Nassar al-Rubaie, had made a statement about the nature of the next government and the prime minister, to the official news agency.

The media office of the Political Authority stated in a statement, October 15, 2021, that "what was reported in the media is incorrect regarding the nature of the next government, and we call on the media to adhere to the correct controls in publishing news and to adopt official sources, especially at this sensitive stage."

The statement added, "Nassar al-Rubaie did not meet with any media outlet, and we will file a lawsuit against false websites that promote false news."

And the official news agency published, earlier, a statement on the lips of al-Rubaie, in which he said, "The next government will not be consensual, and its head will be a Sadrist, and it will bear the responsibility for failures if they occur."

Early Friday morning, the Coordination Framework denied declaring a position on the "largest bloc", after information about reaching a large bloc.

A statement by the "Coordination Framework", a copy of which was received by "Nass", (October 15, 2021), "no statement or statement was issued by the coordination framework regarding the largest bloc, although the number of winners from its candidates exceeded 90 winners."

The statement added, "The framework is still following up with the competent authorities that the confiscation of voters' votes must be addressed, and it will continue to do so until the mistake is acknowledged, the errors are corrected, and civil peace is not endangered."

The leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, had announced the names of the committee in charge of political negotiations and forging alliances for the post-election period.

Al-Sadr said in a document obtained by “Nass” a copy of it, (October 14, 2021), “We would like to inform all political parties that the negotiating committee that represents us exclusively, and that no one has the right to interfere in its work, whoever they are:

Hassan Al-Adhari as its president, Nassar Al-Rubaie as his first deputy, and Nabil Al-Tarifi as second deputy, Hakim Al-Zamili as his supporter.

He added that "the committee has the power to factor in the issue of parliamentary and political alliances for this stage, provided that they return to us in the tasks of their affairs and avoid alliances with those who have comments on them... and that they work according to precautions and public interests."         link
