The Coordination Framework Calls On The Iraqi Government To Take Firm Measures To Provide Security

The forces forming the coordination framework said in a statement that "what happened today of the accelerated events and allowing the demonstrators to enter the special government zone and storm the parliament and constitutional institutions, and the failure of the concerned forces to fulfill their duty, raises suspicions greatly."

The statement added: We hold the caretaker government fully responsible for the security and safety of government departments, their employees, diplomatic missions, and public and private properties, and we demand that it take firm measures to maintain security and order and prevent chaos and illegal practices.

The statement called on the Iraqis to be more aware and wary of the machinations of the enemies and to confront any sedition that the people and their sons would fuel its fire. He also called on them to be "vigilant, alert, miss the opportunity, and prepare for every emergency."

The “coordinating framework” described what the country has witnessed since the announcement of its candidate for prime minister as “suspicious calls that urge chaos, stir up sedition and strike civil peace,” and said: “After the coordinating framework forces completed practical steps to start forming a national service government and agreed unanimously to nominate a national figure.”

In a statement, Saleh said, "Peaceful demonstration and expression of opinion is a constitutionally guaranteed right, with the need to adhere to controls and laws, maintain public security and public property, exercise restraint and advance the national interest above all else."

He stressed "the need to abide by calm and give priority to the language of reason, to avoid any escalation that might affect societal peace and security, and to combine efforts to meet the national entitlements, achieve the people's will and respond to their aspirations for reform, and form effective authorities that protect the higher interests of the country and consolidate a capable state that achieves the people's aspirations for a better future."

Saleh added, "The country is going through a delicate circumstance and faces huge challenges and great entitlements that require unification and preserving the peaceful democratic path in the country for which our people sacrificed over decades of tyranny, persecution and violence.

Al-Sadr Instructed His Followers To Withdraw After They Stormed The Green Zone And Took Control Of Parliament

Posted On2022-07-28 By Sotaliraq  The leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, instructed his supporters to withdraw after they stormed the Green Zone and took control of Parliament, and those protests came in refusal to nominate the coordinating framework, Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani, who is close to the leader of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, to form the government.

And the website of Saleh Muhammad al-Iraqi, who is close to the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, published a tweet with one word, which is (Oh Zahraa), which was interpreted as giving the green light to protest.

The (Al-Mada) reporter stated that "supporters of the Sadrist movement gathered at Tahrir Square in central Baghdad, while the security forces deployed and cut off the road coming from the Karada Maryam area towards Tahrir Square."

The reporter added, “Other groups were at the Jumhuriya Bridge,” noting that “the riot police set up a human barrier to prevent the protesters from storming the Green Zone, while the demonstrators were pelted with hot water,” stressing that “a large portion of the protesters crossed the Jumhuriya Bridge and stood in front of the bridge. The Legislation Gate in Karada Maryam, and they uploaded pictures of the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr.”

He pointed out, "The demonstrators then began to enter the Green Zone after removing a number of concrete blocks."

The reporter pointed out that "the protesters raised slogans rejecting the nomination of Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani to the position of Prime Minister, calling for the trial of the leader of the State of Law coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, because of the audio recordings attributed to him."

In addition, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mustafa Al-Kazemi, called on the demonstrators to immediately withdraw from the Green Zone.

Al-Kazemi’s office stated in a statement received by (Al-Mada), that “the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces called on his sons, the demonstrators, to abide by their peacefulness, to preserve public and private properties, and to the instructions of the security forces responsible for protecting them according to regulations and laws, and to immediately withdraw from the Green Zone.”

Al-Kazemi added, according to the statement, that "the security forces will be committed to protecting state institutions and international missions, and preventing any disruption to security and order."

Meanwhile, the demonstrators stormed the House of Representatives building in the middle of the Green Zone, and video clips followed by (Al-Mada), showed the presence of hundreds of protesters inside the main hall of Parliament.

[size=45]For his part, the general official of the Peace Brigades, Tahseen Al-Hamidawi, warned against harming the demonstrators in Baghdad. Al-Hamidawi said in a tweet via Twitter, which was followed by (Al-Mada), that "the masses are stronger than tyrants, no matter how branched they are." He added, "Do not harm the demonstrators."

Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi called on the demonstrators to maintain peace and directed the parliament’s protection forces not to harm them. As for the coordinating framework, he spoke in a statement about suspicious movements that incite chaos, considering that allowing protesters to storm the Green Zone raises suspicions.

Hours after storming the Green Zone, Muhammad Salih al-Iraqi wrote another tweet in which he said: "In the name of God, I stand in reverence and respect. It is a wonderful spontaneous, reformist, popular message. Thank you. The people are conspiring against you, and your safety is more important than everything.

Then, the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, issued a tweet in which he spoke about the Muharram revolution and considered it a revolution of reform and rejection of injustice and corruption. LINK

Al-Maliki said in a statement, "The entry of demonstrators from any side to the courtyards of the House of Representatives in  the Green Zone

and the encroachment on the security protection of the region is a flagrant violation of the legitimate right to demonstrate, and reality may lead to intersections with the protections of MPs and officials."

He added, "Therefore, the government of brother Al-Kazemi must assume its constitutional responsibilities in protecting the security and social situation and avoiding bloodshed among Iraqis, and it will use legitimate means to deter any attack on the prestige of the state and its institutions."

Al-Maliki called on the demonstrators to "immediately withdraw from the area, abide by the legal right to demonstrate and not be drawn into calls for confrontation with the forces in charge of protection."

Today, Wednesday, demonstrators stormed  the Green Zone in the center of the capital,  Baghdad .

And in Tahrir Square, this afternoon, demonstrations rejected the nomination  of Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani for   prime minister.

The Presidency Of The Iraqi Parliament: The Demonstrations Obstructed The Work Of The Council

Shafaq News/ The presidency of the Iraqi Council of Representatives considered today, Thursday, that the Sadrists' demonstrations yesterday "obstructed" the work of the Council.

While presiding over the joint meeting of the parliamentary committees, Deputy Speaker of Parliament Shakhwan Abdullah said that "the demonstrations obstructed the work of the House of Representatives," stressing that "the demonstrators should not prejudice the legislative institution while ensuring the right to peaceful demonstration."

Shakhwan also stressed that "the security forces must be more firm in performing their duties and ensuring the security and safety of the demonstrators."

Yesterday afternoon, Wednesday, (July 27, 2022), a mass demonstration of supporters of the Sadrist movement began in Tahrir Square in central Baghdad, to express their rejection of the candidate of the coordination framework for the presidency of the new government, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, to then go to cross the Republic Bridge leading to the Green Zone, and to bring down the concrete blocks that It fortified its walls so that they could storm it, and then storm the Iraqi parliament building.

Shafak News Agency's lens documented, with a live broadcast, the entry of the Sadrist movement's supporters to the parliament building, chanting enthusiastic Sadrist slogans, while some of them are trying to reach the constitutional hall.

Later, the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, directed his supporters who stormed the Iraqi parliament building and the Green Zone to return to their homes.

As a result, former Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki appeared, carrying a weapon, near his home in the Green Zone in central Baghdad.
