Clare: Doberdani: Parliament will vote on Monday to complete the cabinet formation of al-Zidi's government.

Member of Parliament Sherwan Dubardani, from the Kurdistan Democratic Party bloc, revealed that Parliament will vote, during its session scheduled for next Monday, on filling the vacant ministerial portfolios and completing the government formation of Prime Minister Ali Falih al-Zaidi.
Doberdani said that a series of talks between the main political forces and blocs led to an understanding regarding granting confidence to the candidates for the ministries that have not yet been decided within Al-Zidi's cabinet.

Baghdad - One News Former Deputy Minister of Finance, Masoud Haider, criticized the Iraqi government's decision to change the dollar exchange rate, considering that resorting to reducing the value of the dinar is the fastest measure to provide financial liquidity and ensure the continued operation of state institutions, but it is not the best economic option, given the existence of alternatives capable of generating greater revenues without imposing additional burdens on citizens.

CBI Tells Lawmakers New Dollar Rate Is Final
2026-10-08 Shafaq News- Baghdad Central Bank of Iraq (CBI) governor Nizar Hussein has informed parliament's Finance Committee that the new official exchange rate of 1,500 dinars to the dollar is fixed and cannot be changed, a parliamentary source told Shafaq News on Thursday. Hussein told committee members that changing the rate in the budget law would mean redrawing every table and line item in the draft, which was built on 1,500 dinars to the dollar, the source said.

Germany is getting rid of paper checks at the end of 2027. Australia is bidding them farewell by 2030. U.S. President Donald Trump followed up his order killing off the penny with an executive order stopping check writing by the federal government.

Tishwash: Iraqi PM to visit Saudi Arabia, Kuwait
Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi is expected to begin a Gulf tour on Wednesday, October 14, with visits to Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, a government source told Shafaq News.
The source said Al-Zaidi would discuss shared security and economic issues with Gulf officials, as well as regional developments and their impact on security and economic conditions.
During the tour, Al-Zaidi is expected to reaffirm Iraq’s rejection of any attacks launched from its territory against Gulf or other regional states and stress that his government would hold accountable any party involved in such cross-border operations, according to the source.
