The Growth Of The National Product

Saturday 06 November 2021  83   Thamer Al-Haims   On the occasion of the conclusion of the first Babylon International Exhibition for National Industries, which was held by the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, under the slogan (Our industry is the title of our Iraq), there was an amazing paradox, which emerged from inside the exhibition from the official of the Pavilion of the Middle Euphrates Company for the manufacture of dates and foodstuffs, who complained bitterly about the red tape and corruption that stand Without promoting national industries, as happened when their company produced (stuffed biscuits) with dates for school feeding, but unfortunately, and speaking to the official of the company’s pavilion, the Ministry of Education directed to import the product from Indonesia.

There is no doubt that this act contradicts the directions of the state and the Ministry of Industry to support national production, and this approach is not education the first or the last who are literally committed to it, nor is it just a deal, otherwise the laws of national product protection or consumer protection would be cut off.

The traditional justifications for such deals, whether in the industrial or agricultural product or (manufactured agricultural) or even the raw product are inconsistent. So that only the beneficiary or the agent of the exporters is convinced of it, and these people can generally find an excuse for them. Therefore, the blame and the question is for the person with the highest concern, who issued the law to protect the national product.

When claiming because of quality, we do not disagree on the quality of the Iraqi standard, which has been weakened because it does not apply to the importer. As for the pretext of the price difference and the main reason for it is the Ministries of Electricity and Oil, neither electricity is sufficient nor does its prices contribute to the economic feasibility of the product, especially for factory generators, despite their knowledge for sure that the proceeds of the two policies will go Pure dollars abroad as the price for the importer and the rest for the banks of the exporting countries.

In order to deal with the matter, decreasing the dinar can be considered the only feasible policy to calm the game with those directly concerned with import, and this policy withdrew intersecting with our calls for investment and its anti-routine and anti-corruption laws, especially since the counterparts of the import of Indonesian biscuits paralyze factories or remove them from the Iraqi industrial schedule to expand and deepen Unemployment in all its manifestations.

And in a dinar, his purchasing power went down to squeeze pockets of more than

30% of the citizens..is it not appropriate, and we are in the boom of industrial cities, to allocate places serviced by the infrastructure of printing presses, at least to provide a stable Iraqi book that is methodologically up-to-date, since (online) is not an alternative, but rather will remain a tributary for the foreseeable future.

This is the tip of the iceberg. The tax system is slow from the outlets to the import permit, which must be consistent with the laws protecting the national product in a serious manner and not seasonal or the dropping of an imposition, as we have to protect our industry first and foremost to be consistent with the slogans of the Ministry of Industry and the first Babylon International Fair, and its symbolism (Our industry is our Iraqi title). Planning: 8 Sectors Significantly Affected By The “Corona” Pandemic

Saturday 06 November 2021   242   Baghdad: Omar Abdul Latif   The Ministry of Planning revealed that 8 sectors were severely affected by the “Corona” pandemic, while the pandemic caused a total decrease in financial revenues during the past two years. Economic, social and spatial development, and attended by "Al-Sabah", that "the health ban measures and the drop in oil prices caused by the pandemic affected the decrease in the gross domestic product for the year 2020 by 10.6% compared to its value during the first half of 2019".

She added, "Despite the significant impacts of the pandemic, the sectors (agriculture, construction, electricity and water) achieved a positive rate of change in the first half of 2020 compared to its counterpart in 2019, while the rest of the sectors were negatively affected by the health ban measures.

The agricultural sector was not affected by these measures because it is private and its activity is productive, but it faced the problem of discharging its products due to the impact of the embargo measures in the transport sector, and that government measures did not restrict the activity of the electricity sector due to the importance of the activity of this sector in various fields.

The development sector showed that the sectors (transport, communications, storage, finance, insurance, real estate services, wholesale and retail trade, and hotels) were severely affected by the pandemic, due to the fragility of the economy and the deterioration of the business environment in it.
