Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) – 

"The Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed Shia Al-Sudani, met on Thursday with Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), who welcomed Baghdad’s accession to a non-financing program to support economic reform in Iraq."

The IMF is expected to move forward with a non-financing program in Iraq beginning next month.

An unfunded debt is a short-term Financial obligation that comes due within a year or less.

It is a short-term contract whereby two entities agree on a non-performance-based payment, and the monies received are on a limited basis.

In other words, Iraq is planning on using a limited support system from the IMF to push their Economic Reforms out in February of 2024.

The Treasury Bond Yield Curve is an important indicator for long-term trend signals on the markets.

Long-term Bond Yields have forced investors to look towards short-term Treasury Bonds for short-term gains since 2022 i.e. 2-year yields.

Short-term Treasury Bonds are considered safe until recently. Currently, short-term bonds are looking as though they are saturated.

This signal shows a shift in the macro environment. It tells us there is a formulation of new trends for long-term investments in gold and other commodities over the dollar and the bonds that support it.

"The International Swaps and Derivatives Association is a trade organization of participants in the market for over-the-counter derivatives."

The ISDA has responded to the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) on the US Basel III ‘endgame.’  

They submitted a notice of proposal on the rule-making process a warning. Their concern is that Capital requirements between the Banking system and the Markets as well as US merchants are too high. It is believed that this will hinder many of the opportunities for growth going forward.  

Liquidity is the lifeblood of a financial system, and ease of movement is necessary to synchronize and capitalize on Market opportunities through the Banking System.

There is a delicate balance between companies and the government that has to be maintained in order to keep companies in the hands of the people, and not, taking over by the Government because of liquidity issues.

Between now and March the 11th, 2024, many adjustments will be made to secure company growth through these new Basel 3 Capital requirements. At that time, old liquidity will give way to a commodity-based support system.   ISDA Link

(Kitco News) - Although gold has started the new year on a quiet note as prices consolidate above $2,000 an ounce, one investment firm expects a sequence of new all-time highs as both gold and silver embark on a long-term bull market.

In their recently published 2024 outlook, analysts at AuAg Funds said they expect to see a 20% rally in gold prices this year, pushing the market past $2,400 an ounce.

The Sweden-based investment firm expects a shift in the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy to drive the rally in precious metals.

“We believe that central banks will shift away from rate hikes and adopt a more accommodative policy stance in 2024, which will catalyze a substantial upswing in gold prices for the foreseeable future,” the analysts said in the report.  Kitco News Link

"The year 2024 might witness significant progress in U.S. regulations for stablecoins, according to Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire. Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Allaire expressed optimism about an impending approval of a stablecoin bill, citing the ongoing global momentum in digital currency regulations."

Circle, the Digital Network Company backing the stablecoin USD Coin, recently filed a confidential S-1 registration with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. This registration process is a requirement in order to offer a new introductory product offering on the market. It tells us that their intentions are to go public inside the new Digital Asset-Based Trading System.

So now, we have the beginning stages of tokenized assets (spot Bitcoin ETF) beginning to populate on the markets and soon a digital dollar to process these transactions.

Each step of the way puts us closer to our goals. The USDC coin was tested all year long in 2023 to see if it would be able to hold its value. With algorithmic and gold-backed asset support, it was able to stay within a stable range of value compared to other stablecoins.

 01-14-2024 | 15:58   Baghdad  According to a document issued on January 9, 2024, the Central Bank directed licensed banks to allow borrowers to repay debts in Iraqi dinars.

Do you remember this article back in October the 20th of 2023? Well, we have reached this benchmark. Today, we will begin the process of utilizing and adjusting Capital requirements in gold to be infused into the new digital economy as needed until we reach the March 11th, 2024 deadline whereby old money will no longer be supplied for the new economy. This was stated last week in a recent article.

2/ Protocol 20 will mark the most transformative upgrade to the Stellar network to date.

And to preserve the network's performance, security, and stability during this time, the ecosystem has agreed to a phased rollout for Soroban transactions.

3/ Following a positive validator vote, Phase 0 begins, which is designed to allow network operators to observe the network after the upgrade, and not intended for end users to interact with applications.

The Treasury Department and the IRS have recently released Proposed Regulations under Section 45X of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, pertaining to the Advanced Manufacturing Production Credit. Section 45X offers tax credits for eligible clean energy components produced by a taxpayer in the U.S. or its territories and sold to an unrelated person during a taxable year.

Overall, the Proposed Regulations aim to provide clarity on eligibility criteria, production activities, related-party transactions, and specific definitions to facilitate the application of the Advanced Manufacturing Production Credit. Comments on these regulations are due by February 13, 2024, with a public hearing scheduled for February 22, 2024.

The New Development Bank, also known as the BRICS Bank, is getting ready to sell Bonds on the Global Markets. These "Maharaja Bonds" will be available to regular investors, governments, and financial institutions.

The above-mentioned BRICS Bonds will be available in local currencies and not the US dollar. These measures will give strength to the local currencies of the BRICS Nations boosting their local economies.

They are currently looking for an approval from regulatory authorities to move on these actions.

Supply and demand are becoming issues for Iraq as they have moved on to the International stage. This move has created fluctuations on the exchange rate of the Iraqi dinar, and they are currently looking at ways to stabilize their currency through economic tools that will bring them into alignment with other currencies.

This is why they are currently looking at measures of control to stabilize their exchange rate through the process of "deleting the zeros" and withdrawing cash mass from their citizens while transferring these monies to the banking system.

They're looking at other mechanisms to control the Iraqi dinar through interest rates, of which, we have talked about in this room. Interest rate control allows them to guide the inflow and outflow of the dinar.

Control of their oil supply and other economic factors of trade within Iraq is becoming increasingly evident and unnecessary. The ability for the Government to trade freely on an open market is an emerging theme of realization and of necessity. It will bring more prosperity to their local economy.

These new mechanism changes for Iraq are coming into play, and the emergence of a new economic system is beginning to create price pressures forging new ways of implementing their new economy.

"The IIA Releases New Global Internal Audit Standards to Lead Profession into the Future"

The Institute of Internal Auditors has a long history of auditing Financial Industries.  It provides internal audits regarding principles, compliance issues, and proposals for implementation in a streamlined format.

This auditing system began the first day of this year and will run until the end of the year and following. It determines sanction procedures, as well as, moving Financial structures into new directions.

It is clear that our QFS is up and running. Since the beginning of the year, we have added reporting procedures and now auditing protocols to our new digital asset-based trading system.

As we approach, Basel 3 final guidance on January 16th implementation and Protocol 20 on January 30th, we are about to be well on our way to a systematic approach designed to self-check itself on a global scale.

"The Federal Reserve is unlikely to extend its Bank Term Funding Program, the central bank’s vice chair for supervision, Michael Barr, inferred Tuesday while speaking at an event for Women in Housing and Finance. The Fed launched that emergency lending facility last year amid the collapses of Signature and Silicon Valley Bank. It is set to expire March 11."

We talked about this last week. The safety net for the old banking system of emergency funding will be over on March the 11th, 2024. We are expected between now and then to make adjustments inside our new Digital Asset Based Trading System and new Capital requirements to be up and running well.

These changes could cause fluctuations in the market we have not seen in a long time, but these shifts will be adjusted through new Basel 3 final guidance on our new tokenized assets interfacing together with banking systems and financial institutions all over the world.

This is not an overnight process and could take well into this year for many assets to shift into new prices based on new banking protocols.

Look for price pressures to cause new valuations going forward. It is a process expected to happen over time leading to a culminating event of weighing the market and its new values on a fixed rate of gold.

Bitcoin is a convertible virtual currency. This is why we witnessed gold beginning to track Bitcoin on the first day of its introduction (ETF) onto the markets.

Gold tracks currency. Be it cryptocurrency or paper currency, gold will support them as an underlying asset. In the new economy, tokenized assets are supported by gold and other commodities. This will give us a stabilizing effect capable of deflating and inflating the economy through gold.

Stablecoin issuer Circle filed for an initial public offering after having a steady year of crypto values. USDC is the second largest stablecoin by volume, and it filed with the SEC for an IPO on Thursday. Not long ago, we learned that interest rates would take a drastic turn downward between March and May. This would be normal since interest rates normally fall during a recession. It is a tool that is used to stimulate growth.

Gold has a tendency to rise when interest rates go down. Historically, gold has been known to do very well during a recession as well. Do you see the setup patterns taking place?

We have new localized currencies around the world that are beginning to move into the marketplace, and they are being strengthened because of their inflationary demand at the present time.

The BTFP will be pulled on March the 11th, 2024. At this time, look for Market and currency interventions to begin. This is when our January the 16th, 2024 Basel 3 requirements to infuse the markets and banking system with gold to support their unification are most likely to create an incredible demand for gold.

Blockchain comes to bank wholesale deposits in bid to slash costs

Major banks will begin digitising contracts that govern their debt financing, and explore trading and settling money market transactions using blockchain technology, in a project that Imperium Markets and the Digital Finance Co-operative Research Centre (DFCRC) will launch in the coming months.

Lawmakers are now taking cryptocurrency and blockchain regulations to their states. On January 5, the Blockchain Basics Act, a bill that aims to protect several blockchain and cryptocurrency rights, was introduced in the Nebraska Unicameral Legislature by Sen. Eliot Bolstar, putting the cornhusker state at the forefront of these initiatives.

The act seeks to guarantee the rights of Nebraskans to mine cryptocurrency without restrictions, exert the custody of their cryptocurrency assets, and transact with crypto. It also establishes the exemption of capital gains state taxes for cryptocurrency transactions under $200.  Bitcoin News Link

Leveling the playing field for stablecoins 

The race for Stablecoin adoption is underway. Stablecoins represent a country's currency. The current technology is at T+1 settlement. The goal is to reach T + O settlement or instant settlement.

Patriot, the blockchain interbank payment network, already utilizes JP Morgan's Coin as a Deposit Token throughout the current banking system.  This network has already achieved near-zero instant payment system technology.

The goal is to create a Level Playing Field among countries and their payment systems through T+0 settlements. And, Stablecoins are the path forward to reach this goal collectively.

For a Stablecoin to qualify in digital payment systems going forward, they will need a stable price equivalent to the country's current regulated price on their currency. The use of gold backing each of these Stablecoins will help to achieve this goal.
