Economic  Last Update 12/23/2021 | 10:01 PM  Gold prices rose today, Thursday, in limited trading at the end of the year, and are heading to record the second consecutive weekly rise.

And gold rose in spot transactions 0.4 percent, to $ 1809.70 an ounce (an ounce) by 13:35 GMT, and US gold futures rose 0.3 percent, to $ 1808.

The price of gold, supported by the weakness of the dollar, rose by six percent in the week of the Christmas holidays in what could become the second consecutive weekly gain.

"Limited trading and buying due to Christmas are keeping gold above the $1800 level," said Michael Langford, director at Air Guide corporate advisory.

Global stock prices, bond yields and risky currencies rose today, Thursday, with growing investor confidence supported by indications of the “Omicron” of the Corona virus, which may be less severe than previously feared, in addition to the release of strong US economic data.

The dollar index recovered slightly, but remained near its lowest level in a week against the more risky currencies, which makes gold less attractive to holders of currencies other than the dollar.

As for other precious metals, silver rose 0.6 percent to $22.91 an ounce, platinum rose 0.1 percent to $965.28, and palladium rose 0.3 percent to $1886.95, up about six percent during the week. https://almaalomah.me/2021/12/23/572620/

POLITICIAN  2021/12/23 | 7:51 PM  The Al-Fateh Alliance confirmed, on Thursday, that there is confusion in understanding the foreign exit from Iraq, and that it does not apply to the Americans and includes only the arrogant international forces with them.

A member of the coalition, Mukhtar al-Moussawi, said in a statement to the "Information" agency, that "the agreement that was signed may have been misunderstood and that the exit includes only foreign forces that came with the so-called international coalition."

He pointed out that "the survival of the trainers and advisors is the other side of the American combat forces in Iraq, and there is no such thing as an American exit from the military bases, because basically it will not leave them without support."

He pointed out that "the Congress confirmed the dispatch of 2,500 American fighters to protect the advisers, and therefore this number is a new occupation under the pretext of the advisers, and the matter is rejected, and we will not accept anything but a total exit from them."

Only a few days remain until the date of the occupation’s exit from Iraq, during which all 9 bases will be handed over to the Iraqi forces, according to what was announced by the Al-Kazemi government. https://almaalomah.me/2021/12/23/572588/

NORV   Hal burn the Zim its dead currency, Venezuela is a country full of corruption but lots of oil..maybe invest in oil futures rather than the currency. sell the Dong it will never rise because they compete with China for contracts, and wait out Iraq's economic growth which could be several more years and maybe make some money.

NORV   Butterfly   Remember the articles saying that Iraq would pay Kuwait, final payment, in 2022. Bam we read articles that they paid them off without a warning.

NORV   I have been in this since 2007 and never saw such an article. Iraq had no choice.
