Butterfly   Newspapers focus on the parliament session tomorrow and efforts to form the largest bloc

Saturday 08 January 2022 The newspapers issued in Baghdad today, Saturday, the eighth of January, were interested in the first session of the House of Representatives, scheduled to be held tomorrow, Sunday, and the moves and efforts to form the largest bloc tasked with forming the government.

Al-Zaman newspaper said: "The House of Representatives, headed by the oldest member, will inaugurate its first session tomorrow, Sunday, to choose a speaker and two deputies, according to the presidential order issued by the President of the Republic, Barham Salih."

The newspaper pointed out that observers said: "My coalition has progress and determination, we have announced the merger and the formation of a coalition that includes 64 deputies before the first session of the new parliament is convened tomorrow, Sunday."

Observers added: "This coalition is satisfied with the Sadrist movement and the Kurdistan Democratic Party, which previously participated in efforts to bridge the differences between its leaders, Al-Halbousi and Al-Khanjar, and enjoys Arab support."

butterfly  Al-Zaman quoted Mishaan al-Jubouri, a member of the Azm alliance, as saying: "It was agreed with the National Progress Alliance to renew the second presidency of al-Halbousi."

Al-Jubouri added: “We left a meeting of the Representatives of Azm, attended by 12 deputies, during which we renewed our confidence in the dagger for the leadership of the coalition, and we restored our previous mandate to him on everything related to naming the presidencies and the government.

The leader in the coordination framework, Hassan Shaker Al-Kaabi, revealed, according to the newspaper, a new point of contention with the Sadrist movement over the formation of the government.

Al-Kaabi said: "There is a new point of contention between the coordination and the Sadrist bloc, which is the lack of agreement between the two parties on the personality of the Prime Minister, and that the other points cannot be said to be the main focus of the dispute, but rather they are resolved according to the preparation of each bloc in Parliament."

butterfly   Al-Sabah newspaper, which is issued by the Iraqi Media Network, followed the issue of the largest parliamentary bloc and the moves and efforts to form it.

n this regard, she said: "Although there are only 24 hours left for the first session of the new parliament, things seem vague and unclear regarding basic issues, foremost of which is the "largest bloc" that will be tasked with forming the expected government."

The newspaper added: "If the Shiite duo, the Sadrist bloc and the coordination framework, agree to enter into one alliance, things will go smoothly. But in the event that they separate and one of the parties manages to declare itself a "bigger bloc" and proceed with consensus with the other partners, the country will go into a blockage. Perhaps, more clearly, a "dark tunnel" whose end you do not know.

And Al-Sabah continued: "The last hours carried a joint movement from the Kurdish duo, the Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union, as they met the Sadrist movement's political body and the leaders of the coordination framework."

She pointed to the words of a member of the joint Kurdish delegation, Hoshyar Zebari: "The electoral benefits will be the verdict in determining the fate of Iraq. Dialogue with the Sadrist movement is very useful and everyone is required to take advantage of the opportunity."

butterfly  While the newspaper quoted the leader in the coordinating framework, Wael al-Rikabi, as saying: “The coordinating framework will enter the first session of parliament scheduled to be held on Sunday with approximately 100 deputies, and will deliver the parliament’s presidency a letter declaring that it is the largest parliamentary bloc.”

He added, "The coordinating framework is still hopeful, and we are on the threshold of the first session, to enter it with the Sadrist movement as a larger bloc that represents the Shiite component for the purpose of forming a government."

And he said: "If the Sadrist movement continues to refuse to enter with us in a government that agrees, we will go alone to enter the first session, in addition to those with us from some of the winning personalities and the winning independent candidates." https://ninanews.com/Website/News/Details?Key=949289
