Harambe: Bloomberg: China Says Liu He to Travel to U.S. for Trade Deal Signing (1/9/20)
China announced that Vice Premier Liu He will travel to Washington to sign the first phase of the trade deal with the U.S. next week, locking in Beijing’s commitment to a ceremony already announced by President Donald Trump.
Liu, who has acted as Chinese President Xi Jinping’s top trade negotiator throughout the tariff conflict, will travel to the U.S. from Jan. 13 to Jan. 15 at the head of the delegation, Ministry of Commerce spokesman Gao Feng said.
He said he has no more information to release about the trade talks, other than that the teams remain in close contact.
The statement is the first Chinese confirmation of the signing, which Trump said would be Jan. 15. Trump has also said he will go to Beijing after the deal is inked to begin negotiations on the second phase.
Under the accord, announced Dec. 13, Trump agreed to suspend plans for new tariffs on Chinese imports and reduced some existing levies, while Beijing agreed to increase agricultural purchases. The precise terms of the agreement have not been revealed. U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer has said he expects the 86-page document will be publicly released after it is signed.
Gao declined to comment on the $200 billionimports of goods and services which the U.S. said China has agreed to in the deal.
The move at least temporarily calms fears of an escalating trade war between the world’s two largest economies, at a time when investors are nervous over conflict in the Middle East and rising oil prices.
Liu will travel with the titles of Politburo member, vice premier and top trade negotiator, according to Gao. There was no mention of whether he will be designated a special envoy for Xi, a title he held on some previous trips to Washington.

Spy satellite imagery suggests that a Ukraine-bound Boeing passenger airliner that crashed shortly after takeoff in Iran on Tuesday was shot down by Iranian missiles, NBC News reported Thursday.
The report came as President Donald Trump said he does not believe that the crash of the plane carrying nearly 180 people near Tehran was the result of mechanical failure.
Iranian officials had originally suggested that the Boeing 737-800 fell from the skies because of a mechnical failure.
"It was flying in a pretty rough neighborhood," Trump said of the crash, which occurred soon after Iran launched missile attacks on bases in Iraq that house U.S. and coalition forces.
"Someone could have made a mistake."
"I have a feeling that — it's just some very terrible, something very terrible happened, very devastating," he said.
Newsweek noted that images that began circulating on Wednesday shows what looked to be fragments of a Tor M-1 missile that were said to be found in a Tehran suburb.

Briona: We don't need Iraq's oil, but if we can get it at a huge discount, that is just a bonus. The conflict between Iraq and Iran is the reason we will be staying there, and will stay, until the US feels comfortable with the situation
MoEagle: Oil Oil..... it is about oil and power. we went in to because of Oil.... we shipped in trillions of barrels... started doing fracking to become self sufficient which causes other problems and if fracking is stopped or construciton of pipe lines is stopped we will need oil from over seas …. but in the big picture, it is about the pretro dollar ... the us dollar. Who in the world holds dinar and can buy IQ oil with dinar? How did they get the dinar? so, it is about IQ oil being bought by us Dollars in the hands of other countries who have our dollar, which can then be buy oil.... so what would Iraqi do with dollars.... yep come back to the US eventually seeking to buy goods. So it is about oil and the petro us dollar in the big picture
MoEagle: So consider Iq oil COSTING about 20 wholesale.. selling for 60 to other counties and then retail prices..... our UST can own the 20$ oil and NOT bring to us but sell to other counties for the petro dollar or US dollar thus we want to oil and any other natural resource we need in the future... JSL: it is an admission of hiding something ,because if somehow Boeing was responsible they could get compensation, by not allowing the investigation to be done by the experts on an international non bias level they are admitting their guilty. We all know they hit it with one of their missiles. Killing all those innocent people

Walkingstick the CBI has told us that all banks in Iraq are going to receive the 50,000 and the 100,000 freshly printed bills...The reason for it is because the CBI is now lessening the amount of 10k and 25k notes in the inventory of Iraqi banks. They want to get more of the three zeros...the CBI is sending 50k and 100k notes only to be used from bank to a bank. Each bank is getting a different specific amount. Each bank must send to the CBI in return either 4 - 25K notes or 10 - 10K notes. We [walkingstick's firm] have not received them yet. Some banks have. We believe we will be next. They are only to be used from bank to bank not for circulation. The 50k and 100K are not to be introduced to the citizens. They are to introduce the small category notes when told on their schedule. This is being used to remove the three zeros notes from the banks not to draw them in - that was already done...
Francis Albert ...I know one thing for sure....The IMF and the Dollar Inc. FED etc. all Central Banks are run by the same crowd. They hang together talk and sit with one another. If these people want Iraq to go forward with monetary reform, as ALL evidence suggest. IMF can do what they want, and in the paperwork that has a check mark on "Is currency in compliance for 18 months? " They can check Yes, and who is going to say anything to argue the check mark. Remember in finance and Geo Politics...nothing...nothing is as it seems.
