Samson: Iraq ranks 142 in the prosperity index

Iraq ranked 142 in the Global Prosperity Index for the year 2021 issued by the British Legatum Institute.
The Prosperity Index is an annual ranking developed by the Legatum Institute. The index is based on a variety of factors including wealth, economic growth, quality of life, health, education and personal well-being. The purpose of the index is to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of countries to identify the economic choices that must be made to continue building inclusive societies, unlocking innovation, and enabling people to achieve prosperity.
The index measures the performance of 167 countries, based on 12 pillars in three basic areas of prosperity, including the comprehensive standards of societies, the investment environment and open economies, and the living, health and educational conditions of people.
In the Arab world, the UAE (41 globally) ranked first, followed by Qatar (46 globally), then Bahrain (56 globally), then Kuwait (58 globally), the Sultanate of Oman (67 globally), then Saudi Arabia (75 globally), while Iraq ranked 142. At the global level, Denmark came at the top of the list of the most prosperous countries, followed by Norway and Sweden, followed by Finland and Switzerland. LINK

Samson: Postponing the “Davos” global forum!

The World Economic Forum has postponed its annual meeting, which was scheduled to be held in the Swiss mountain resort of Davos next January, to mid-2022.
A month before the meeting of world politicians and businessmen in Davos, the Swiss ski resort, organizers said they said they had decided to postpone the meeting in light of the continuing uncertainty surrounding the spread of the new mutated Omicron from the Coronavirus and added that they had decided to organize it in “early summer”.
The World Economic Forum said: “The current epidemiological conditions make it very difficult to organize a global meeting with physical attendance. The preparations were guided by expert advice and benefited from close cooperation with the Swiss government at all levels.” “Despite the strict health protocol, Omicron’s ability to spread and its impact on travel and movement made the cancellation necessary,” he added.
The “Davos” forum, which in the past brought together about three thousand businessmen, political thinkers and state leaders, was canceled last year due to Covid-19. Switzerland is tightening Covid-19 restrictions, but has not reached, so far, the announcement of a stricter partial closure. The forum had said in September 2021 that next year’s meeting would focus on accelerating stakeholder capitalism, harnessing the technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, and ensuring a more inclusive future of work. Pimpy I think we're way closer to having the real rate of the Iraqi dinar come out than we ever been before. I don't know what that rate is and I have no idea when it's going to happen and anybody that tells you different is full of crap. Nobody knows the rate. Nobody knows the date. Nobody. Except for those in the need-to-know and you and I ain't them. It's exciting to see. Yes it makes me happy...it certainly looks like they're trying to line themselves up with some type of plan to be reinstated...
Pimpy I still think it's going to go up in increments but...I showed you articles from the United Nations council directly from them that says there's no reason why Iraq cannot be reinstated to the original rate. Now having said that - it doesn't mean they're going to be reinstated. I'm just saying if it does that is the rate it appears to be - $3.22...
