This afternoon, Wednesday, a collision occurred between a truck belonging to the Central Bank of Iraq and another transporting goods on the main road between Baghdad and Kirkuk.
A security source told "People" (26 August 2020), that "a large truck collided with a small vehicle belonging to the Central Bank of Iraq loaded with money on the main road between Baghdad and Kirkuk."
The source added, "The accident resulted in the injury of the large truck and two employees of the Central Bank who were traveling in the small wheel." link

That's really significant...this is the first time I see Kurdistan traveling with the official government from central Baghdad...I think this is very huge...it gives you indication that there are unity between them. You know if they're not happy you'll never see them traveling all the way down to the U.S...you know what's going to make them more united right? The new currency...lower denominations...have the Kurdish language on it...that part too is going to unite the whole country...so this is a major and a huge significant part for them to join the government with the negotiation and those contracts with the U.S...

On Sunday, Ikhlas Al-Dulaimi, a member of the parliamentary finance committee, confirmed that no general agreement had been reached on the draft federal budget law for 2027, despite it being presented during the State Administration Coalition meeting yesterday.
Al-Dulaimi told Shafaq News Agency that the draft budget needs some amendments, noting that there is currently no government agreement between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government, as well as objections to the region’s share in the budget.

The Central Bank of Iraq has directed all licensed banks to implement updated scenarios for monitoring suspected cases of money laundering and terrorist financing, setting the end of December 2026 as the deadline for completing their activation on anti-money laundering (AML) systems.
The bank explained that the update is based on international standards, Financial Action Task Force (FATF) recommendations and Iraqi legislation, taking into account technological developments and financial products currently in use.
