Tishwash: Al-Kazemi and Al-Halbousi prepare for the approval of the general budget
Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi and Parliament, Muhammad Al-Halbousi, held a joint meeting on Sunday to discuss the state budget for 2020.
The convening of this meeting, which was attended by a number of ministers, deputies and advisors, according to a statement by Al-Kazemi's office, received by Shafaq News Agency, within "a methodology for cooperation between the legislative and executive authorities, in order to lay down the best means and pillars that serve the national economy."
The meeting discussed "the draft of the state budget law for the year 2020, as it is one of the most important goals of the ministerial curriculum of the government, in a manner that ensures the citizen’s interest and level of pension is taken into account."
The joint meeting also dealt with following up on the latest steps in preparing the economic reform paper, as well as discussing general frameworks for the state budget for the next year, 2021.
And the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers announced, earlier today, Sunday, that it had received the special budget for the remainder of the year 2020 .
A spokesman for the secretariat, Haider Majeed, told Shafaq News, "Today, the Ministry of Finance sent a draft of the draft general budget law for the year 2020 to the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers ."
Majeed added that "the legal department in the cabinet secretariat has audited the draft budget," stressing that "the cabinet will discuss and vote on the budget law in the coming sessions, before sending it to the parliament ."
While the Iraqi Ministry of Planning stated, "The budget for the year 2020 that was referred to the Council of Ministers for approval includes the launch of bonuses and promotions for all employees.
The ministry added that "the available job grades for retirement have been added to the federal budget for the year 2021. "
Earlier today, the Parliamentary Finance Committee revealed that the budget bill for the current year 2020 has been completed, and that the Council of Ministers will discuss it at its next session .
The head of the committee, Haitham al-Jubouri, told Shafaq News that the draft law will be limited to the months of September, October, first and second, and December, and a committee has been formed to present a detailed report on the budget at the next session .
Iraq has not passed the federal budget law for the current year as a result of the protests crisis that has swept the country since October 2019, and toppled the previous government .

Here it is. It's starting...anybody and everybody is being investigated. If you're found to have been involved in some type of corruption, you're gone...Al-Kazemi crack-a-lack'n. Looks like they're really full steam ahead and on track. I'm really happy to see this...
