OPEC: Iraq Is The Highest Among The Members Of The Organization In Raising Its Oil Production In August

Energy  Economy News _ Baghdad  On Tuesday, the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, which consists of 13 countries, announced that Iraq was the highest among the members of the organization in raising its oil production last August.

The organization said in a report seen by "Al-Iqtisad News", that "the production of oil by OPEC member countries rose by 151 thousand barrels per day during the past month, to reach 26.762 million barrels per day, supported by increased supplies from Iraq, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and Angola.

And she added, "The largest increases came from Iraq, as its oil production rose by about 91 thousand barrels per day, to reach 4.056 million barrels per day, after it was 3.965 last July, followed by Saudi Arabia, which recorded an increase of 69,000 barrels per day, bringing its production to 9.488 million barrels per day." .

He added, "The UAE came third with an increase of 55 thousand barrels, then Angola came fourth with an increase of 43 thousand barrels per day. Integrity: Baghdad Will Host An Expanded International Conference Tomorrow To Recover The Looted Funds

The statement added that "the conference, which is held under the auspices of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi and with the participation of Arab League President Ahmed Aboul Gheit, a number of justice ministers, heads of judicial councils and regulatory bodies, as well as a number of representatives of associations and organizations, and legal and academic figures related to Arab and media issues, is that It deals with important topics related to the issues of recovering looted funds and smuggled assets, finding ways to facilitate their recovery operations, and preventing the provision of safe environments and havens for them.

He added that, the Federal Integrity Commission and the Ministry of Justice will undertake the task of organizing the conference, which will witness the holding of joint workshops and the presentation of research working papers that address the most prominent obstacles and obstacles facing the national regulatory authorities in the issue of recovering convicts, assets and funds smuggled outside the borders of their countries, and what solutions and remedies are. It contributes to obliging the countries that hold these funds and assets and those convicted of corruption crimes by the decisions of UN conventions, laws, charters and norms calling for cooperation in returning them to their countries of origin.

He stressed that the conference organizers are seeking to come up with a set of decisions, recommendations, results and initiatives that urge the participating countries (in attendance or virtually) to cooperate and provide legal assistance among them to recover the smuggled money and the proceeds of corruption that spoilers have been able to smuggle outside the borders of their countries, and to form alliances against countries. that provide safe environments and tax havens for them at the Arab and international levels.

It is noteworthy that Iraq, represented by the Integrity Commission, had participated last week in the meetings of the working groups within the framework of the United Nations Convention against Corruption held in the Austrian capital Vienna, where the head of the Commission called on the international community to abide by the provisions of the UN Convention against Corruption regarding the difficulties in recovering money and those convicted.

The United Nations Announces A Project To Support Five Governorates In Iraq
