Parliamentary Legal Discusses The Draft Federal Court Law
09/06/2020 The Legal Committee held a meeting headed by Rep. Rebwar Hadi, Chairman of the Committee, and the attendance of its members today, Sunday 6/9/2020, to discuss the final version of the Federal Supreme Court bill.
At the outset of the meeting, which was held at the committee’s headquarters in the House of Representatives, the committee stressed the need to proceed with enacting the law, ending discussions about it, and presenting it to the House of Representatives to take its legislative path as one of the important laws in the democratic process and establishing the role of constitutional institutions in the country.
The meeting dealt with direct discussion of the articles and paragraphs of the draft law, as well as listening to the proposals of the ladies and gentlemen of the committee members related to the formation of the Federal Court and the number of its members, as well as the purpose of choosing the court as a reserve member from part-time judges in addition to the mechanism for nominating and selecting members of the court.
The meeting stressed the need to continue discussions on the law until it is completed and presented to the House of Representatives.

Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazimi Receives The Special Representative Of The Secretary-General Of The United Nations In Iraq

Iraq And Sweden Sign An Electricity Contract Worth $ 80 Million

He pointed out that the National Investment Commission estimated the investments that must enter Iraq during the period from 2018-2022 from local and international private sector companies ((75 billion dollars)), specifically in the fields of energy, agriculture and industry, as the oil sector occupied 38% of the investments. Al-Handal noted that Iraq today has become a good environment for investment, especially that the investment law is one of the distinctive laws that give the investor advantages, including tax exemptions and others.
He explained that the banking sector donated more than $ 36 million to the Ministry of Health to combat the Corona pandemic in Iraq, in addition to delaying borrowers' installments by 6 months and reducing the interest rate on project loans from 6.3% to 4%, especially the sectors affected by the Corona pandemic, such as tourism, hotels and restaurants. .And Al-Handal said that the Central Bank reduced the mandatory reserve ratio for bank deposits, which contributed to enhancing the liquidity of banks by $ 900 million, and that these measures contributed to increasing lending to citizens.
