The salaries of government employees in Iraq were delayed for the past month of June by about ten days from the usual launch date
, and member of the committee Jamal Cougar told Shafaq News that "the central bank has secured employee salaries for three months, which are June, July, and August, according to the local and external borrowing law."
He pointed out that the monthly salaries of employees are estimated at $ 5.5 billion.
Cougar added, "The government needs $ 28 billion to secure employee salaries from June to the end of 2020."
And that "the money is divided into 18 billion dollars from domestic and foreign borrowing, and the rest of oil revenues." http://www.alliraqnews.com/modules/news/article.php?storyid=95535

Parliamentary Integrity Reveals Its Solutions For Managing Corruption Files
Editing Date: 10/7/2020 14:23 • 53 times read [Baghdad-Ain] The Parliamentary Integrity Committee revealed today, Friday, its solutions for managing corruption files in state institutions.
Member of the committee, Deputy Jawad al-Saadi, said, “The volume of corruption files is greater than the capacity of the Integrity Committee, with waste of public money, and the exploitation of crises by entering ISIS gangs and the Corona pandemic.”
He explained that "we need a specialized angel of consultants and legal persons to follow up on these files," noting that "the Integrity Committee submitted several requests to recruit employees from outside the council to seek their expertise, but previous budgets prevented this."
For his part, member of the Parliamentary Legal Committee, Hussein Al-Oqabi, told the Iraqi News Agency, “Corruption in the state has two aspects. The first is the political will of the ruling powers, the extent of their seriousness in fighting corruption, and the other side of the government’s system and its capacity with legal loopholes and inefficient human resources to manage corruption files ”
Al-Oqabi added that “the Integrity Committee has more than two thousand employees who were appointed by illegitimate methods, without production, which caused the committee’s inability, in addition to the absence of the legal contracting law, especially as it opens the door to exceptions that have a great scope for corruption.”
He continued that "the Office of Legal Oversight and the competent to investigate corruption files has no basis for administrative investigation or judicial powers to investigate," stressing that "administrative control is compatible with the work of the executive branch, especially as it is better than the control of the House of Representatives." http://www.alliraqnews.com/modules/news/article.php?storyid=95551

The United Nations Has Warned Of A Complex Water Crisis In Iraq That Could Cause A New Displacement Of The Population
Author: Ahad7 On 10/7/2020 - 10:46 AM 76 The organization’s report came as follows:
Iraq faces a complex water crisis that is expected to continue and may have impacts on the humanitarian, social, economic, security and social levels, including population movements.
In July 2019, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Iraq identified 21,314 internally displaced people from the central and southern governorates who were displaced by water shortages linked to high salinity or outbreaks of waterborne diseases.
The intake of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers - the main water sources in Iraq - is decreasing at an unprecedented rate. At the same time, climate change increases average temperatures and reduces annual precipitation, causing more challenges across the region. The risk of displacement caused by the lack of water for the population in Iraq remains high due to the deterioration in the quantity and quality of water available.
The International Organization for Migration in Iraq and Deltaris, an independent institute for applied research in the field of water and subsurface, has published a new report - Water Quantity and Water Quality in Central and Southern Iraq: A Preliminary Assessment in the Context of Displacement Risks - Focuses on Understanding the Differences in Water Quantity and Water Quality in the Central Governorates And Southern over the past two decades.
Water scarcity is one of the main threats to agricultural societies. The head of the International Organization for Migration in Iraq, Gerard White, said that environmental factors are among the drivers of displacement, and this has been seen in governorates such as Dhi Qar, Basra, Najaf and Karbala.
"The evidence presented in this report can inform future actions to alleviate the looming water crisis, which would make vulnerable communities more vulnerable."
The report provides insight into the coming years, and key recommendations to alleviate the water crisis, based on an exploratory analysis based on the model.
“As a member of the Water, Peace and Security Partnership, Deltares aims to improve the availability of water data and information to help prevent water crises,” said Karen Major, senior researcher at Deltares. “Working with the International Organization for Migration has provided us with the opportunity to tailor our analysis of information needs to prevent and respond to water-related displacement and improve decision support in this area.”
The International Organization for Migration in Iraq and Deltaris also launched the Web Risk Risk Webtool, an interactive web tool that provides insight into changes in water quantity and water quality over time in the central and southern governorates of Iraq.
Using data from past years, it explores the impact of different water management scenarios, climate change, and the effectiveness of measures to mitigate these changes. The tool presents baseline, water management and climate change scenarios, each showing two series of interactive maps on past and future water availability and water quality.
