sandyf Back in the early day many were optimistic about possibility of The IQD gaining value through reconstruction in Iraq. Even incompetence from the US administration and the death of the UN envoy Sergio Vieira de Mello did little to dampen the optimism and the years went by with only some small increase.
About 2009/10 along came the modern day gurus like Terryk and dinarland moved to fantasyland with talk of 3 dollars plus and the GCR. People should reflect on the timing of this, shortly after the financial crisis of 2008.
It is not out of the question that the financial crisis gave birth to a plan to restructure the global financial situation. Should such a plan exist it could be that over the years misinformation has been allowed into the pubic domain to satisfy a particular agenda.
I find it a bit strange that more aggressive steps have not been taken to shut down the speculation if it was doomed to failure in its entirety.
There may well be some return on the Iraqi dinar but one thing is for sure, it is not going to come from anything that Iraq does. The three zeros project is a redenomination and nothing more than a distraction in the bigger picture.

larrykn Turkish warplanes begin bombing northeast Syria
Turkish warplanes and artillery have begun shelling Syria’s predominantly Kurdish northeastern town of Serekaniye, Mustafa Bali, the spokesperson of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), said on Wednesday.
A source in Serekaniye told The Baghdad Post that four warplanes are hovering over the town, and there is heavy artillery shelling the silos near the border.
According to local media, the Turkish warplanes are bombarding Safeh village, located five kilometers on the western outskirts of Serekaniye. It added that Turkish artillery shelled the Mahatta and Malla Darwish main streets in Serekaniye.

Parliament Speaker Mohamed al-Halbousi has described the ongoing situations in Iraq as ‘dangerous’, amid protests that swept through the capital Baghdad and other provinces.
During the parliament session, Halbousi said “We are now at the crossroads. Either to be with the people who demand their rights, or stand with our interests.”
