The US Energy Information Administration announced, on Saturday, that Iraqi oil exports to America decreased to 155,000 barrels during the past week.

The administration stated in a report, that "the average US imports of crude oil during the past week from nine countries amounted to 6 million and 79 thousand barrels per day, an increase of 187 thousand barrels per day from the previous week, which amounted to 5.892 million barrels."

The report added, "America imported crude oil from Iraq at a rate of 155,000 barrels per day, while it imported 305,000 barrels per day in the previous week." And he continued, "Most of America's oil revenues during the past week came from Canada, at a rate of 3.

The report indicated that "the amount of US imports of crude oil from Colombia amounted to an average of 340,000 barrels per day, followed by Nigeria, which imports amounted to 183,000 barrels per day, followed by Russia at a rate of 159 thousand barrels per day, followed by Ecuador at a rate of 29 thousand barrels per day.

Barzani's office said in a statement that the National Iraqi News Agency / NINA / received a copy of it: "The meeting discussed the political situation in Iraq and the region, the threats and challenges facing the political process and ways to achieve political stability in Iraq."

Barzani expressed his thanks to the Australian people and government for their assistance to Iraq in overcoming difficulties, as well as the war against terrorism within the framework of the international coalition.

The upcoming elections were another focus of the meeting, as the two sides expressed their hope that these elections would achieve stability and prosperity in Iraq.

A report of the market obtained by Shafaq News agency said, “This week, 15,280,376,000 equities were traded a value of 14,107 million dinars, via 2726 transactions," the report said, "ISX60 index closed at 567.76, 1.38% above last session's closure."

It is noteworthy that Iraq Stock Exchange installed Central Depository and Electronic Trading Systems in 2009. It organizes five weekly sessions and lists 103 public companies from different economic sectors.

A statement of the Ministry said that a team of technicians and engineers was on a mission for re-installing detonated transmission towers on the Martyr Abdallah al-Qadimah line, north to Samarra-Dor (132KV) in Kirkuk, when they were hit by a blast from an explosive device near the villages of Zaqarta and al-Awadiyah in al-Rashad sub-district.

The Ministry said that the explosion damaged the vehicles and the crane deployed in erecting the towers, indicating that another bomb was found in the site exploded.

According to the London agency, “a similar letter signed by seven members of the US Senate, including Senator John Bozeman, a member of the Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry, appealed to Senators (Toller) to meet with the Iraqi Prime Minister to address this development.”

The letter adds that “in the absence of a transparent bidding system…we will surely lose this top export market.”

She noted that (Rice), a US industry lobby, told (Platts) via email that “the process of transferring purchasing authority from the Iraqi Grain Board to the Food Division was done quietly, without consultations with the US rice industry or the US government.”

And concluded by saying, “It gives high priority to the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and the Iraqi government, which is scheduled to expire in December of this year.”

6-26-2021   Al-Kazemi holds the corruption of the Maliki era responsible for Iraqs disastersBaghdad – Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi on Thursday blamed the corruption that prevailed during the governments led by former Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki for the disasters that Iraq experienced, pledging to move forward in the fight against corruption even if it cost him to topple his government.

Al-Kadhimi said, “The fall of Mosul (in the hands of ISIS in the summer of 2014) was caused by corruption, nepotism and mismanagement as well, and many issues, even in the issue of electricity and other sectors, we find that the reason is corruption.”

He stressed in an interview with the state-owned Al-Iraqiya channel, and his media office published its content, that “fighting corruption is a major challenge in Iraq.”

Last August, Al-Kazemi formed a special committee to investigate major corruption files, and assigned the tasks of executing arrest orders to a special force in the prime minister’s office.

Corruption was a major reason for the failure of successive Iraqi governments to improve basic public services such as education, electricity, drinking water, the health sector, and others.

Iraq is facing a large spread of corruption, as the Parliamentary Integrity Committee confirmed last January that the volume of smuggled funds outside Iraq is estimated at 350 trillion dinars (239.7 billion dollars), a number that has exceeded the country’s budget for more than two years, stressing the existence of political pressures to obstruct the fight against corruption.

Earlier last year, the former member of the Parliament’s Finance Committee, Rahim Al-Daraji, estimated the value of the looted funds in Iraq at about 450 billion dollars.

Al-Kazemi’s plans do not stop at fighting corruption, although it is a difficult task for a government without a clear political belt.

Al-Kazemi is betting on the elections scheduled for next October in order to ascend a supportive bloc of deputies not linked to sectarian agendas.

“We do not want to compliment any party, and we decided to contain everyone and extinguish the fires to provide a security environment for the upcoming elections, because elections are the demand of the people, the reference, popular forces and parties,” the Iraqi prime minister said in his interview on Thursday.

He added, “We must fulfill the demands of the demonstrators and hold elections because the October 2019 demonstrations provided 600 martyrs and thousands of wounded, the condition of a number of them seriously. We chose to fulfill the demands of the demonstrators, the reference and the political forces, and focus on the parliamentary elections.”

He reiterated his commitment not to run in the elections as a candidate, explaining, “It is a decision taken from the first moment to take office and I do not have any party, and I support all parties equally and do not differentiate between one party and another.”   rawabetcenter.com

The two benchmarks reached their highest levels since October, when they settled on Thursday.

Analysts said that oil received some support today, as a bill on infrastructure spending in the United States boosted optimism about the prospects for energy demand.

All eyes are on the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and its allies, the group known as OPEC+, who are scheduled to meet next Thursday, July 1st; To discuss further easing of their production cuts, starting in August.

Analysts expect that: OPEC + will boost supplies with a small increase of 500,000 barrels per day, in August, to add to the 2.1 million barrels per day, which it agreed to return to the market, in the period from May to July.

Committee member Jamal Kocher told Shafaq News Agency, "Last week, the Parliamentary Finance Committee hosted the Governor of the Central Bank, Mustafa Ghaleb, and discussed the steps the bank promised to implement to reduce the repercussions of changing the currency exchange rate and its implications."

"The decline in the exchange rate of the dollar against the dinar and the rise in oil prices does not mean the return of the exchange rate of 100 dollars to 118 thousand dinars."

Kocher continued, "all the meetings and discussions that took place recently are nothing without a decision issued by the government, the Ministry of Finance, and the Central Bank to restore the dollar exchange rate."

The Ministry stated in the annual report of its achievement for 2020, that the energy exchange contract with Egypt was renewed, and another agreement was signed to supply Iraq with electric power, noting that the first phase of the problem is being completed, during which 1000 GWh will be exported annually from Jordan to Iraq.

For its part, the Iraqi Ministry of Electricity had announced in 2020 that the American company “General Electric” had started the electrical interconnection works with Jordan, pointing out that the Gulf Interconnection Authority had informed Iraq that work on the electrical interconnection project was imminent.

On Thursday, the Iraqi Prime Minister, Mustafa Al-Kadhimi, set the date for the completion of the electrical Interconnection with the Gulf and Jordan.

Al-Kadhimi said in an interview with the semi-official Al-Iraqiah channel, "We started with the electrical Interconnection with the Gulf countries, and we have completed 85% of the work in Iraq. The contract stipulates establishing solar plants in central and southern Iraq with a capacity of 2000 MW.

In a statement issued earlier today, Thursday, Abdul-Jabber said, "Iraq is implementing a plan to replace fossil energy with Solar energy at a rate of 20-25% of the energy produced, equivalent to 10-12 GW."

"Concluding a contract with the Emirati Masdar Company, a major international company, is an important step toward developing the clean energy investment sector and exploiting solar energy in Iraq."

For his part, the UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, Suhail Al-Mazrouei, praised the "distinguished relations between the two brotherly countries."

Al-Mazrouei asserted his government's support for bilateral cooperation projects in the clean energy sector, "Masdar Company will harness all its technical and engineering capabilities to implement these projects."

In turn, the head of the National Investment Commission, Suha Al-Najjar, stressed, according to a statement by the Iraqi Ministry of Oil, "the importance of the contract for clean energy generation with the UAE company Masdar, which achieves the government's goals in obtaining clean energy at a lower cost, as well as adopting clean environment, health, and safety standards."

A statement issued by the coalition said, "all current indicators do not predict fair elections that will be the beginning of a new political era that unites the people and eliminates negative manifestations and manipulation of the principles of democracy," noting, "the Commission closes its eyes and ears to all observations and advice that are offered to correct the democratic path in the country."

The statement added, "There is a large number of displaced people away from their election centers", warning of the decision of abolishing voting abroad, which will deprive about seven million Iraqis of voting."

The coalition also reiterated the need to seek the assistance of another company to examine and audit the biometric devices and evaluate them.

The coalition made observations about means related to counting and sorting, laws, regulations and mechanisms, and the necessity of announcing the results in each polling center after closing it at night, in addition to granting the appropriate powers that enable office managers to perform better and allowing them to open, move or split polling stations in a way that helps voters in access to centers and regions.

The Russian TASS news agency quoted a source from a delegation from a European country in the European Council as saying: "During the discussion of the Russian issue, the issue of implementing the Minsk agreements (on settling the conflict in eastern Ukraine) was discussed, and no one opposed the extension of sanctions against Russia for an additional 6 months."

In 2014, the European Union imposed sanctions against Russia over the events in Ukraine and the accession of Crimea to Russia. In response, Russia imposed similar measures and an embargo on food imports from European Union countries.

The previous Iraqi government headed by Adil Abdul Mahdi (Oct. 2018-May 2020) concluded a number of ambitious agreements to establish joint industrial cities with neighboring Jordan, Iran, and Saudi Arabia.

The Council of Representatives in 2019 also passed a law to facilitate the construction and operation of such endeavors.

However, it seems that work on these cities has not seen significant progress since.

Salih said, according to the official media, that "the monetary policy of the Central Bank of Iraq and its sufficient foreign reserves has the ability to intervene in the exchange market by meeting legitimate demands for foreign currency, in both its two forms, the monetary dollar and foreign transfers in foreign exchange and for the account of bank customers from private sector traders seeking to finance their trade." foreign goods, services and various benefits.

Committee member Mithaq al-Hamidi said, "Iraq has become mired in foreign debt because of the government's financial policy and the lack of any benefit from the white paper that cracked the heads of parliament members in order to vote on it."

And she added, "The government, through its financial measures and increasing the dollar exchange rate, tried to maintain the balance of the central bank and the hard currency, which caused an increase in all prices for everything in the country."

And she indicated that "the central bank, after the measures taken by the government, began pumping more currency under the pretext of maintaining the exchange rate, while it failed to do so, and prices rose in an unprecedented manner, which caused great damage to the citizen."
