Tishwash:  Russian agency: Iran has pulled the "flying rug" from under America's feet in Iraq

The Russian news agency Pravada considered, today, Thursday, that the Iranian authorities, through cooperation with Russia, have succeeded in "pulling the flying rug" from under the feet of the United States in Iraq by taking a series of decisions recently. 

And the agency stated in a report translated by (Baghdad Today), that "Iran, from this moment, has succeeded in becoming part of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization after fifteen years of attempts."

"Iran has also become a member of the BRICS plus group, which includes Russia, China and India, and is expected to replace the Group of Twenty by 2025," she said. 

The agency added that "Iran is close to entering the free trade agreement of the Eurasian Economic Union," which, according to the agency, will provide it with the possibility of trade away from the sanctions currently imposed on it by the United States.

And the agency announced, quoting political analyst Pepe Escobar, that "the group of achievements that have been achieved during the past days have made the United States lose its influence on Iran, which it is exploiting Iraq to achieve," referring to the exemption that Washington grants to Baghdad for trade with Iran away from sanctions. 

The new changes, according to Escobar, will unleash Iran's hand in Iraq and the region, and give it the ability to "challenge the United States" directly after obtaining "enough financial independence" from the trade area controlled by Washington, and depriving Tehran of being part of it, as he put it. link

Tishwash::  Baghdad and Erbil agree to overthrow big heads accused of corruption

A member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Wafa Muhammad Karim, revealed the existence of a qualitative agreement between the governments of Baghdad and Erbil regarding the extradition of those accused of corruption to Baghdad to hold them accountable, indicating that Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani succeeded in his first steps, and the arrest of prominent leaders on charges of corruption will be announced.

 In a press interview, Karim said, "Prime Minister Muhammad Shi'a al-Sudani succeeded practically in the fight against corruption, and continuing to recover money is very important, and prominent names will be overthrown in the coming days."

 He added, "Erbil fully agrees, through a qualitative agreement, to hand over any suspect to Baghdad on charges of corruption immediately, and a number of those wanted have been handed over during the last period."

Karim pointed out that "the continuation of corruption harms the interests of the country and Erbil, since the oil file and the economic sector are the most affected by the corruption operations that exist in Kurdistan as well, but to a lesser extent than it is in Baghdad."  link

Tishwash:  Indonesia central bank launches white paper on planned digital currency

Indonesia's central bank on Wednesday unveiled plans for a digital rupiah currency that will use blockchain technology, as the country sees a boom in digital transactions.

The move follows that of many central banks around the world that are developing so-called central bank digital currencies (CBDCs), either in the form of retail tokens to be used directly by consumers or wholesale tokens to be used by banks within the financial system.

The digital rupiah will underline Bank Indonesia's (BI) role as the sole authority to issue legal tender, including a digital currency, Governor Perry Warjiyo said at an event where he also laid out the central bank's policy guidance for 2023.

Indonesia currently bans the use of cryptocurrencies as a means of payment, but allows transactions of the digital assets in the commodity futures market for investment purposes.

"Digital rupiah will be implemented in stages, starting from wholesale CBDC for issuance, elimination and transfer between banks," he said.

The next stage will be to develop the digital rupiah's business model for monetary operations and money market, and eventually a retail CBDC will be developed for everyday use, Warijyo said, without elaborating on a timeline.

BI said in a statement on Wednesday that developing CBDC in Southeast Asia's biggest economy still needs support from other stakeholders and the central bank has to conduct trial runs.

Indonesia has seen double-digit growth in digital banking transactions in the past few years with transactions in 2022 set to grow 30% to 53,144 trillion rupiah ($3.38 trillion), according to BI's data.

There has also been an exponential rise in cryptocurrency investment during the pandemic.

According to a statement by the Prime Minister’s Media Office, Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani stressed, during his meeting, in Tehran, with the Iranian Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, today, Tuesday (November 29, 2022), “the importance of maintaining bilateral relations between the two countries in various fields,” noting that “the government is committed to the constitution.” The Iraqi who prevents Iraq from being made a launching pad for aggression against its neighbours.

Ali Khamenei stressed that “the security of Iraq is the security of the Islamic Republic,” calling on “the Iraqi people for more unity and solidarity,” according to the statement.

In turn, the Iranian media quoted Khamenei as regretting that “some regions of Iraq are being used to destabilize Iran’s security,” stressing that “the only solution is for the Iraqi government to extend its authority over those regions as well.”

Khamenei congratulated Al-Sudani on his election as prime minister, saying that “it is a pleasure to have a believer and capable individual at the head of the Iraqi government.”

The Iraqi Prime Minister had confirmed that Iraq would not be a starting point for harming neighboring countries, pointing to his government's commitment not to allow any parties to use Iraqi land to disturb security in Iran.

Economist: Trade Exchange Between China And Iraq Will Reach 44 Billion Dollars

Money and business   Economy News / Baghdad   Economic expert Nabil Al-Marsoumi said, Thursday, that Iraq may have crossed the red line in its relationship with China, indicating that the volume of trade exchange between the two countries will exceed $44 billion by the end of 2022.

Al-Marsoumi said in a post on Facebook, "The US Pentagon warned Iraq and other countries in the Middle East against continuing broad cooperation with China because of its negative repercussions on the United States."

He added, "China is Iraq's largest trading partner, as trade dealings between them reached $33.7 billion during the first ten months of this year, which means that it could reach more than $40 billion at the end of 2022."

Money and business  Economy News / Baghdad   On Thursday, Prime Minister Mohamed Shiaa Al-Sudani issued directives regarding commissions for electronic payment companies.

Al-Sudani's office stated in a statement that "Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a Al-Sudani directed the formation of a specialized audit committee to review the commissions collected by all electronic payment companies from citizens."

He added that Al-Sudani directed "to take action against the violator in accordance with the law."

The committee is also responsible for "auditing the contracts concluded with the aforementioned companies, and indicating the extent to which they are consistent with the laws, regulations, and instructions in force, and achieving the public interest." '

Iraq's Oil Generates More Than 8 Billion Dollars In One Month

Economie| 02:21 - 01/12/2022   Baghdad - Mawazine News   The Ministry of Oil announced, on Thursday, the total exports and revenues achieved for the month of November, according to preliminary statistics issued by the Iraqi Oil Marketing Company (SOMO).

The ministry said, in a statement received by Mawazine News, that "the total quantities of crude oil exported for last November from the oil fields in central and southern Iraq amounted to 97 million and 204 thousand and 696 barrels, while from the Kirkuk fields through the port of Ceyhan, the exported quantities amounted to 2 million." And 363 thousand and 20 barrels.

After World War I and the dissolution of the Ottoman Empire, Iraq's monetary system was administered by the British Mandate of Mesopotamia until 1931, when the Iraq Currency Board was established in London to issue the new Iraqi dinar and maintain its reserves.

I don’t have enough room to post my own studies on this over the years, yet IMHO  these old British/London/EU banking powers via crossover trusts etc., are the one’s that really own all these “Central Banks” of this category including the Fed Reserve, BIS, IMF, and World Bank.  

I also point to The Vatican as well because they got in bed with the Bank of England a few centuries ago, and they are all tied into this structure as well.  Personally, I think those two are at the top of this interconnected food chain.  

They may say “State Bank,” in regards to Iraq, but these are merely words.

This is one of the reasons why I got into this investment and stayed with it for 12 years.  These immensely powerful people who are also a very influential part of the “Industrial/Military Complex” of the USA, and give a bazillion dollars for President’s to run for office, are not going to get punked by thieving Iranian sects forever through a multicurrency system.  

This is about power and money, and the best way to control what is really their money is to go back to a single, convertble currency, and change up that currency auction to adapt or disappear from the processes.  

Have you noticed, it has been The IMF/World Bank/USA/UN that come in there to set up the monetary reform, and depose politicians that aren’t on the agenda now?  It’s because…They are one and the same.  Blessings.

Henig:  Gold shines with the weakness of the dollar

 {Economic: Al Furat News} Gold prices recorded slight gains, on Wednesday, supported by the decline in the dollar, as investors focused largely on the speech of Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, in pursuit of any indications on the path of monetary policy of the US Central Bank.

The dollar index fell 0.2 percent, making bullion less expensive for holders of other currencies.

Economic experts described the export and import panorama as highly positive, as two more groups of commodities – transport vehicles and spare parts, and fishery products – have seen 11-month export value of over $10 billion, while imports of materials for manufacturing have also surged.

By the end of November, exports and imports totalled $673.82 billion, higher than the $668.54 billion for the whole 2021. Trade surplus stood at $10.6 billion, compared to the $0.6 billion in the same period last year, according to the General Statistics Office.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development said China’s rice imports have shifted from low to high volume in the year-end period. Some EU countries also tend to import more rice to replace the wheat supply decline caused by the Russia - Ukraine conflict.

This has helped raise Vietnamese rice prices to $480 per tonne, $13 - 28 higher than Thai rice and $60 - 65 higher than the Indian grain, thus substantially contributing to this year’s export growth.

Besides, products of the processing and manufacturing industry have also enjoyed growth of 6 - 39.9 per cent in overseas shipments, helping turn export into a “bright spot” of the economy in 2022.

Thirty-five commodities report an export turnover of more than $1 billion each, with eight surpassing the $10-billion- mark, accounting for 93.7 per cent and 70.1 per cent of the total, respectively.

Forty-five products saw an import value of over $1 billion, and six over $10 billion, making up 93.2 per cent and 52.3 per cent of the total, respectively.

The US is Việt Nam’s biggest importer in the period, with a turnover estimated at $101.5 billion, while China is the country’s largest exporter, with $109.9 billion.

In the period, Việt Nam also recorded a trade surplus of $29.4 billion with the European Union, and a trade deficit of $56.9 billion with China.

After the meeting, Minister of Justice Khaled Shawani, who was present at the meeting, said that “by a decision of the Prime Minister, it was decided to form the Supreme Committee for the implementation of Article 140, which was suspended in 2014.”

He added on his Facebook page that “the committee will meet within ten days, to prepare an estimated budget to compensate those covered by the article, and to submit it to the Council of Ministers for inclusion in the general budget.”

Shawani said that the decision to activate Article 140 “was taken based on what was stated in the ministerial platform within the framework of the political agreement concluded by the political leaders to form the government.”

Article 140 of the constitution states:

First: The Executive Authority shall take the necessary steps to complete the implementation of the requirements of Article (58) of the Law of Administration for the Iraqi State for the Transitional Period, with all its paragraphs.

Second: The responsibility placed on the executive authority in the transitional government, stipulated in Article (58) of the Law of Administration for the Iraqi State for the Transitional Period, extends and continues to the executive authority elected under this constitution, provided that it is fully accomplished (normalization, census, and ends with a referendum in Kirkuk and other disputed areas to determine the will of its citizens) within a maximum period of the thirty-first of December of the year two thousand and seven.

And the sources confirm that “holding a referendum in the disputed areas will certainly lead to a clash with the factions that have controlled those lands since 2016, because the activation of the article will threaten their presence there.”

On the other hand, the Turkmen objected to the activation of Article 140, and the Turkmen Front, which is the political umbrella for the component, confirmed in a statement, “its rejection of any step taken in the absence of the component’s representatives.”
