Lawmakers are now taking cryptocurrency and blockchain regulations to their states. On January 5, the Blockchain Basics Act, a bill that aims to protect several blockchain and cryptocurrency rights, was introduced in the Nebraska Unicameral Legislature by Sen. Eliot Bolstar, putting the cornhusker state at the forefront of these initiatives.

The act seeks to guarantee the rights of Nebraskans to mine cryptocurrency without restrictions, exert the custody of their cryptocurrency assets, and transact with crypto. It also establishes the exemption of capital gains state taxes for cryptocurrency transactions under $200.

Banking Announcement:

"India Launches UPI Block Facility for Stock Market Trades"

Since January the 1st, 2024, India has started a UPI block trade facility allowing a pilot program to test the ability of professional investors to hold their Secondary Market (ie foreign currency is one of them) investments inside the Banking System instead of going through a Broker.

This will allow seamless trading to go on between the investor and the stock market coordinating faster transactions through the ability to hold money or foreign currency inside a banking account. This is expected to increase profitability and security for investors.

After this beta testing, it will begin to make its move into the retail investor markets. Right now, a select group of investors are being tested.

  "Morgan Stanley cut its outlook for the US currency to ‘Neutral’ from ‘Bullish’. However, it noted that seasonality and short positioning could potentially still drive further upside, Bloomberg News reported."

We have a lot of the BRICS currency countries getting ready to trade with each other sidelining the dollar along the way. Some have already begun this process.

This will move the price of gold to make up the difference in the following use of the dollar along with inflation that will eat at its value.

It will require more gold to fill in the gaps and create more and more need to support the dollar through these new capital requirements of Basel 3 about to be implemented on January the 16th.

This will create a profound effect on all of the Global currencies that rely on the dollar in trade especially those who are trading now in their local currencies.

Europe’s Payment System’s Big Bang: Inside the ISO 20022 Migration

Rolling out a new common language for global payment data is no small feat. However, the transition is gathering momentum, with one domestic payment system after another converting to ISO 20022 (a standard for financial-information interchange between financial institutions developed by ISO, the International Organization for Standardization) over the past two years, including in countries such as Singapore.

This year, it was Europe’s turn, with all three of its payment systems—Eurosystem’s TARGET2, EBA Clearing’s EURO1 and Swift’s (or SWIFT’s, Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication’s) CBPR+ (cross-border payments and reporting plus)—opting to migrate in March in what the industry termed a “big bang” approach.

"In response to a surge in attacks on merchant ships, 18 significant shipping companies have opted to avoid transiting the Red Sea, as reported by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). IMO Secretary-General Arsenio Dominguez informed the UN Security Council on Wednesday that a substantial number of companies have rerouted their vessels around Africa to mitigate the impact of attacks on seafarers."

“While we continue to hope for a sustainable resolution in the near future and do all we can to contribute towards it, we do encourage customers to prepare for complications in the area to persist and for there to be significant disruption to the global network,” it added.

HSBC Launches Tokenized Gold

"One of the largest bullion dealers in London, HSBC Holding, has launched tokenized physical gold trading on its single-dealer platform. The new capability will keep ownership records of the physical gold on a distributed ledger. The new service works with the bank’s Orion platform—which issues digital assets—and its digital custody service, slated to go live in 2024."

HSBC Bank is offering the ability to buy gold tokenized assets. The benefit of this Digital Ledger Program is that you can buy small quantities of gold and build on your portfolio as you have the money to do so.

Your gold will be held on a Digital Ledger service allowing you to hold physical gold through a banking system.  This indicates a shift in our monetary system. A system whereby gold backs both our markets and our banking system going forward.  Is a clear indication that we are moving out of a Fiat system and into a Gold Standard Economy.

Intel:

Today {01/02/23), Dee and I did get confirmed in a meeting with our CBI contact that the Iraqi Dinar is currently trading through electronic mechanisms.

As their currency expands into the International stage this year, they do expect to have a currency with a higher value as the year progresses.

This is a learning curve for them as well as other currencies around the world as many of them began the process of trading in their own currencies on an official level today.

We did schedule a meeting with our contact and other members of their IT Department for later this week or early next week.

Do you remember those SOFR lending rates that came into effect Globally for the markets and banking system on July 1st, 2023? You know, those that are backed by gold?

The old lending system called Libor operated under uncollateralized units of account in overnight trading to provide liquidity.

SOFR is collateralized by US Treasuries bringing in a more accurate system of lending and liquidity based on real values and cannot be manipulated.

US Treasury Notes such as a US 10 Year Treasury Note pays out at new rates every six months even though it may have a 2,5, 10-year or more duration. And, it pays the face value to the holder at maturity.

Our first round of liquidity for the markets and the banking system under the SOFR lending system pays out early this week.

Banking Announcement of the CBI in Iraq:

In an official statement from the CBI of Iraq, customers inside Iraq can receive the dollar with the permission of investors involved in the transaction.

Otherwise, all transactions are to be done in the Iraqi Dinar going forward in order to enhance confidence in the dinar.

This official statement is the new monetary policy that has been decided to begin on January the 2nd, 2024 per the Council of Ministries.
