Clare: Adam Smith International assists with Iraq Budget Prep

The Iraqi government has started discussions on the structure of the 2025 budget, with expectations for its submission to Parliament early next year, according to Atwan Al-Atwani, head of the Parliamentary Finance Committee.
State-run Iraqi News Agency (INA) says Al-Atwani hosted a delegation from Adam Smith International to discuss public financial management reforms, including tax, customs, public debt, and development fund sectors. Key financial challenges, particularly the oil revenue dependency, were highlighted, as well as ongoing efforts to boost non-oil revenues through legal reforms.

Okay, let's, get into what has been happening over the last three or four days, we knew we were close, you know, last Thursday into the weekend, we knew we were really coming in the time, and we really thought that we would be there. Clare: Labor announces the release of the full-time employee salary for the month of October

The Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs announced, today, Wednesday, the launch of the full-time appointee's salary for the current month of October 2024.
The Ministry's Disability and Special Needs Rights Commission said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "It launched the full-time assistant salary for more than (388) thousand and (107) beneficiaries in Baghdad and the governorates for the current month of October 2024."

Having acceded to the TIR Convention, Iraq is now poised to enhance its position in regional trade following the signature of a significant customs agreement.
The Republic of Iraq has achieved a key milestone with the signing of the Guarantee Agreement between the General Authority of Customs and the TIR national association. This agreement will pave the way for the implementation of the United Nations TIR transit system in Iraq.

Mon. 21 Oct. 2024 CBD Gurus Bartel Rumor Only: A Bond Holder said the GCR would be released on Wed. 23 Oct., while another Bond Holder said they would be paid 50% on Tues. 22 Oct, but the GCR wouldn’t really be released for another ten days. An Iraqi Contact said the Dinar would be revalued on Tues. 22 Oct., while another Iraqi Contact said it would be revalued on Wed. 23 Oct. He said only the Dinar and Zim Bonds would revalue, while the other currencies would have to wait for another ten days to two weeks.
