After the Sunni Endowment Office in Iraq and the Supreme Religious Authority in Najaf announced the start dates for the month of Shaban for the Hijri year 1445, it has become almost certain to know the date of the next month of Ramadan, which follows Shaban in the lunar months.
The crescent of the month of Shaaban was seen at sunset this evening, Sunday (February 11, 2024), with the naked eye in Najaf Al-Ashraf and Kirkuk.
The Sunni Endowment Office announced yesterday that today, Sunday, is the first day of the month of Shaban, and considering that this month will have 30 days, the beginning of the month of Ramadan will be next March 12, and if the month of Shaban has 29 days, then the first of Ramadan will be on March 11.

Today, Sunday, Minister of Finance, Taif Sami Muhammad, participated in the activities of the Eighth Arab Public Finance Forum in Dubai.
The Ministry said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “Minister of Finance, Taif Sami Muhammad, participated in the activities of the Eighth Public Finance Forum for Arab Countries under the title of designing more efficient financial policies to address challenges related to debt and future financial issues in light of more stringent financing restrictions and tax management.” and reform of public sector institutions.
She added that “the forum discusses financial policy issues and the prospects for economic and financial developments, with the aim of exchanging experiences and expertise and identifying the challenges facing economic policy makers and reform priorities in Arab countries,” noting that “the forum is held in cooperation with the International Monetary Fund, and in the presence and participation of Arab finance ministers and governors.” Central banks and Arab monetary institutions, along with a number of heads, senior officials and experts from international and regional financial institutions.”
She continued, "The forum also addresses the challenges of reforming and supporting energy and strengthening social safety networks, with the aim of achieving a future characterized by sustainability and social solidarity. The World Gold Council announced today, Wednesday, that Iraq has increased its possession of the yellow metal to more than 142 tons.
The Council said in its latest table for last January, “Iraq maintained its 30th ranking globally out of 100 countries included in the table with the largest gold reserves and raised its possession to 142.6 tons from 132 tons, which represents 8.3% of the rest of its other reserves.”
He added, "Iraq ranked fourth in the Arab world after Saudi Arabia, which possessed 323.1 tons, followed by Lebanon, which possessed 286.8 tons, and Algeria, which possessed 173.6 tons."

He pointed out that "the United States of America sits on the throne of the rest of the countries with the largest possession of gold in the world at 8133.5 thousand tons, followed by Germany with 3352.6 thousand tons, then Italy came with 2451.8 thousand tons, while Bosnia and Herzegovina came at the bottom with 1.5 tons."
The Council stated, "Iraq announced the purchase of gold in the year 2023, amounting to approximately 12.25 tons."
It is noteworthy that the World Gold Council is based in the United Kingdom and has extensive experience and deep knowledge of the factors causing market change. Its members consist of the largest and most advanced gold mining companies in the world. LINK

More details from Rod: "I was told the paperwork was just completed and the Admiral is going to release everything on Monday."
Rod continues: "The Iraq Government will reveal the new ‘lower denomination’ notes this week and then release the new Dinar Rate (4+) to be published in the Government Gazette on Sunday and then go on FOREX this coming Monday, the 12th". ROD
My very close friend vetted this information with two other contacts. One who is very close to the Admiral - as in working alongside him on a daily basis. And the second gentleman is extremely close to those on the Bond side who are clued into the details regularly. They both are in alignment with Rod's news also - so that's extremely encouraging. The meeting also discussed customs and tax co-operation within BRICS, financing of infrastructure projects, launch of the BRICS research network in the field of finance, as well as financial co-operation within the BRICS Business Council.
The Bank of Russia presented the priority areas of cooperation in the financial track, including the mechanism of functioning of foreign exchange reserves, payment interaction, information security of the financial sector, use of financial technologies, transition financing and sustainable development, as well as a platform for open events.
The Bank of Russia also aims to integrate new BRICS members into the work of the financial track and strengthen co-operation at the expert level.
The next meeting of the BRICS Finance Track at the level of finance ministers and central bank governors is scheduled for 27 February this year.

Dubai 2 funds for Tiers 2,3,4a (Groups) were (allegedly) released on Sun. 4 Feb. and were liquid on Fri. 9 Feb. Dubai 3 funds for Tier 4b (Us, the Internet Group) were released on Wed. 7 Feb. and would be liquid by at least Sat. 10 Feb.

Frank26 Question: "Are they going to put a cap on the dinar if it goes too high?" IMO this is an RI which means they should reinstate the value back to at least $3.22. That's the rate it was when it was brought down...$3.22 was back in 2003. What is it 21 years later it's still $3.22? ...It seems to me there should be at least anywhere from 20% to 30% added to $3.22 - Anywhere from $3.86 to about $4.25 would be a good capping range IMO.

First of all, Jeanie’s always bringing up what we’re looking forward to maybe what we don't have and what we're looking forward to, and what we're praying for so I remember those things and get into that in a moment.
Whit I think is most important right now is to look at the possibility that I was presented with today. It said that we should get Supreme Court decisions around 11 o'clock in the morning tomorrow, Friday.

So far today, that we would get those results of Supreme Court decisions 11 o'clock Eastern time, tomorrow. And then within 1 – 2 hours after those decisions have been rendered by the Supreme Court - we would notified for our exchanges which would put us sometime in the early afternoon tomorrow, in which case we should see the ability to set appointments either for Friday afternoon, evening, or Saturday, but we'll see how those come out. Whether they come out as we anticipate and what we're able to do with that.
I think that's extremely good news. And what it tells us is all of this time we've been waiting, thinking we were going to go and all the false starts,. I think that's what we've been waiting for - even though I was told that would not be the case – for a long long time - I believe more recently that we needed that to happen . So we'll see.
Tomorrow, Friday, February 9 turns into that day for us - where we get notified - after the Supreme Court brings those decisions out, if that occurs, we are golden - we move forward with our notifications - our setting appointments and are exchanges soon to follow.
Regarding R&R – restitutional and reclamation allowance – Jeannie was referring to I believe, we had heard and I noticed that we will get that between the first and seventh of February. Well, the seventh was yesterday- Wednesday, and today is Thursday, the eighth and we have none of it – YET
I don't believe there were increases in Social Security, YET- either – and we thought those would occur- they were supposed to start sometime - we didn't have a specific time in February. I think they still could -

But I believe that allows us to move forward and to get not only get our RV and to get not only are our toll free number – our exchanges, but also the R&R and the increase in Social Security as well to occur sometime this month. That's what we're looking forward to.
I know that there are rates on the bank screen I know that they should be locked in.
We should also have rates on redemption center screens, which is the better way to go. I've told you that many times. Keep that in mind. That's why we use the toll free number when we get it to set your appointments because even though you're setting a fixed appointment, that should take no more than 30 minutes. Don't arrive more than 10 minutes early for it.
But you should be absolutely thrilled with the rates that are available for all of our currencies and for the Zim that we're we will be redeeming with everything that is going to happen at the redemption center - And that is the ticket.
You know that call that took place. ?? was it Tuesday morning? With all redemption centers. It was with the leaders of those redemption centers around the United States, I don’t know if it was including Canada and Mexico. I didn't get that. But it was a call that was originated from Wells Fargo. It did last a little longer than they anticipated. Instead of an hour and went an hour and a half. And I think they got everything. They want to get out to the leaders of the redemption centers, of which we know four of those of four different redemption centers - so I think that's very positive for us.
A lot of this has been hinged on the release of the decisions by the Supreme Court on three separate cases. One that was filed by President Trump and his group of attorneys one filed by the Bunsen brothers, and one is one relating to the 2022 election.
So we'll have to see how that comes out. Tomorrow, but we're being told by our redemption center people that we are in for a very exciting weekend.
Well, I'm counting the weekend starting tomorrow. Let's see how that manifests to us. Let's see what we actually get. How soon we get notified how soon we set these appointments. And I think we could start if we don't start Friday evening, we could start Saturday. And we'll go right on through Sunday and the rest of the week. That's what I'm getting today. I'm very excited to hear this information earlier this morning.
So with that being said, I think we've covered all the other things that we wanted to talk about. So let's go ahead and look forward to that.

The next banking crisis looks to be upon us, as New York Community Bancorp teeters on the brink of collapse.
Ironically, NYCB was one of the rescuing banks that swooped in during last year's fiasco and soaked up the assets of the now failed Signature Bank. Guess that didn't work out so well now that Signature's benefactor is failing, too.
This comes as an estimated $1.5 trillion in commercial mortgage loans come due this year and next, so that's comforting. The developing banking disaster comes as gold and silver diverge wildly in terms of open interest, with the number of gold contracts open at 5 year lows, but silver's open interest curiously going in the opposite direction.
This is something I've never, technically speaking, actually seen before.
Over in China, 271 tonnes of physical gold were swiped off the exchange in January. That's the second biggest withdrawal ever. The brew appears to be maturing. Into what, we'll soon find out.
