Tishwash: Al-Kazemi and Trump meet: The US President talks about the military withdrawal from Iraq
US President Donald Trump said, Thursday, that only a small number of his country's forces remain in Iraq, stressing Washington's commitment to a speedy exit of the coalition forces.
Trump added in a joint press conference with Al-Kazemi, in Washington, (August 20, 2020): "We withdrew significantly from Iraq and very few soldiers remained," stressing his "commitment to the rapid exit of the international coalition forces over a period of three years."
And he continued, "Al-Kazemi is a man with whom I get along very well," noting that America will support Iraq to be ready to defend itself.
Trump noted that "the Iraqi security forces have performed an important performance in confronting ISIS."
The US President emphasized, "Baghdad and Erbil have achieved good cooperation in the war against ISIS, and we supported that."
He added, "The Iraqi forces have performed an important performance in the face of ISIS, and we will support Iraq to be ready to defend itself, and we look forward to the day when the need for the survival of our forces ends."
Trump added, "Iraq is an independent country and it has a good government that is able to resolve important files, and it is not appropriate for us to stay there for long," noting that America has "the most powerful army in the world and are able to deter any attacks in Iraq anywhere."
He referred to the participation of the United States in "many oil exploration projects in Iraq."
For his part, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi confirmed that the Turkish attacks on Iraqi lands are unacceptable , wishing Ankara to understand Baghdad's position.
Al-Kazemi said, "The Turkish attacks on Iraq are unacceptable, and we are in dialogue with the Turks in this regard, and we hope our Turkish neighbors understand this," noting that "Iraq will not be a base for attacking any country."
He continued, "We welcome American companies and investments in Iraq." link

Pimpy ...I told you the information would be coming fast and furious and it was my belief that when Al-Kazemi came to visit you would see a lot of agreements. You know Trump he's always thinking business...sure enough there are tons of Memorandums of Understanding which is good because we want these outside companies to come into Iraq and start bringing new business in there...invest in Iraq is what we're looking for...
