Planning Proceeded With The Preparation Of Poverty Reduction And Five-Year Development Strategies
Money and business Economy News _ Baghdad Today, Sunday, the Ministry of Planning announced the start of preparing poverty reduction and five-year development strategies for the next five years 2023-2027, while noting that the completion of lagging projects requires about 24 trillion dinars.
The ministry's spokesman, Abdul Zahra Al-Hindawi, said, in an interview with the Iraqi News Agency and followed by "Al-Iqtisad News", that "the Ministry of Planning is closely following the projects of the governorates, and almost daily meetings are held between the Minister of Planning and the governors in order to discuss the reality of the projects," pointing out that "the last meetings He was with the Governor of Baghdad, Muhammad Jaber Al-Atta, during which the level of implementation of these projects and the problems facing them were discussed, especially the Baghdad entrances project, which is important for the capital, and the rest of the other service projects.
Al-Hindawi added, "There are quite a few projects that are stalled and lagging behind, as they are service opportunities and job opportunities for young people," noting that "the ministry is working on developing mechanisms, solutions, and solutions to the problems of these projects, in order to resume work on them and benefit from their services."
With regard to ongoing projects, Al-Hindawi continued, "The number of ongoing projects amounts to more than 7,000 projects, and there is work and follow-up on the reality of these projects through field visits to the specialized technical and engineering teams of the Ministry," noting that "these teams visit a project directly and diagnose the problem of delay." He pointed out that "these ongoing projects are divided between the sectors of industry, agriculture, transportation, communications, buildings and services, in addition to the development of regions," stressing that "the priority will be for these projects to complete them and end financial obligations, and then go to new projects if new projects can be included."
He pointed out that "continuing projects (under implementation) need 130-136 trillion dinars over the years of their completion, as we are talking about large projects, some of which will be completed in three years and others in four years within a development plan, in addition to lag projects that need about 24 trillion dinars in order to accomplish.”
He continued, "Work is currently based on preparing a poverty reduction strategy for the next five years, and a five-year development plan strategy for five years from 2023 to 2027," pointing out that "these strategies and plans will take into account the issue of multidimensional poverty in the areas of health, housing and education, in addition to Improving the income level of the poor.
