Kurdistan Region Calls On The Federal Government And The International Community To Intervene To Stop The Attacks On It

Today, Sunday, the President of Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, condemned the Erbil Governorate.

"We condemn the missile attack, which targeted late last night, in a cowardly, brutal and unjustified manner, the people, security and stability of Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region," Barzani said in a statement.

He stressed that the attack did not cause any human damage, expressing his sympathy with the beloved citizens of Erbil, who spent a difficult time in light of anxiety and anticipation, noting that facing challenges, threats and dangers requires from all parties of Kurdistan and its components cohesion, unity and reunification. 

He added, "The targeting of Erbil in this way and its repetition, is a dangerous precedent and a flagrant violation of the security, stability and sovereignty of Iraq, and it will have no results other than complicating the situation and harming the present and future of all of Iraq."

The President of the Kurdistan Region called on "the Iraqi federal government and the international community to stand diligently against these attacks and make all efforts so that the sovereignty and stability of the country and the security and safety of its citizens are not allowed to be violated again."

The President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, also condemned the terrorist attack on several areas in Erbil.

"Erbil will not bow before cowards, I strongly condemn the terrorist attack that took place in several areas in Erbil," Barzani said in a statement.

He added: "I urge the heroic and steadfast people of Erbil to be patient and follow the directives of the security services. I thank you for your steadfastness."

Earlier, the governor of Erbil, Omid Khoshnaw, announced that several missiles had fallen on Erbil Governorate.

Khoshnaw said in a press statement that "several missiles fell on the city of Erbil," stressing that "the target group is unknown, whether it is the American consulate or the airport."

The Federal Court Decides To Postpone The Lawsuit To Raise The Exchange Rate Of The Dollar

local| 01:50 - 14/03/2022  Baghdad - Mawazine News   Today, Monday, the Federal Court decided to postpone the lawsuit to raise the exchange rate of the dollar until the fourth of next April.

And according to what the official Al-Sabah newspaper reported, "The Federal Supreme Court decided to postpone the 32nd lawsuit regarding (raising the dollar exchange rate), to the fourth of next April."

This is the second postponement of the Federal Court in the case of reviewing the exchange rate and returning it to what it was at 120,000 Iraqi dinars per 100 dollars.   https://www.mawazin.net/Details.aspx?jimare=187216

And the media of the Federal Court stated, in a brief statement, that "the Federal Supreme Court decided to postpone the 32 federal lawsuit (raising the dollar exchange rate) to the fourth of next April."   LINK 

Sullivan: We Support The Iraqi Government In Holding Iran Accountable

The United States condemned in the strongest terms the Iranian missile attack on the Kurdistan region of Iraq.

National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan affirmed in a statement today, Monday, the Iraqi government's support in holding Iran accountable, noting that his country stands behind Iraq's full sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, and stressing "the support of our partners in the Middle East in the face of Iranian threats."

The statement also stated that the United States stands with Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi and the leaders of the Kurdistan region, President Nechirvan Barzani, and Prime Minister Masrour Barzani, in condemning this attack on the sovereignty of Iraq and the Kurdistan Region.

12 missiles

On Sunday, Iran attacked the city of Erbil in northern Iraq, with twelve ballistic missiles, in an unprecedented attack on the capital of the Kurdistan region of Iraq.

Meanwhile, Iranian official media reported that the Iranian Revolutionary Guards claimed responsibility for the attack, which occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning, and said that it targeted Israeli "strategic centers" in the city.

The Iraqi Foreign Ministry summoned the Iranian ambassador to Baghdad to protest the attack.

No injuries

A US State Department spokesman described the incident as a "outrageous attack", but said that no Americans were hurt and no US government facilities in Erbil were damaged.

Also, the US ambassador to Iraq, Matthew H. Tueller condemned the attack, and said that "elements of the Iranian regime claimed responsibility for this attack, and they must be held accountable."

The last time American forces were attacked with ballistic missiles was in January 2020, in an Iranian response to the United States' assassination of Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani at Baghdad airport earlier that month.   No US military was killed in the 2020 attack, but many suffered head injuries.   LINK

Al-Kazemi Discusses With Barzani The Missile Strikes That Targeted Erbil

Today, Monday, Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi discussed with the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani, the missile bombing that targeted Erbil.

And the Prime Minister's media office said in a brief statement, "Al-Kazemi met in Erbil, the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Masrour Barzani."

He added that "the two sides discussed a number of files, including the missile bombing that targeted Erbil."

Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi arrived in Erbil today, Monday, at the head of a security delegation that includes the Ministers of Interior Othman Al-Ghanimi and Defense, Juma Inad, and they were received by the Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani.
