Samson:  Baghdad exhibition kicks off Friday with the participation of more than 23 countries

The General Company for Trade Fairs revealed the participation of more than 23 countries and 800 local and international companies in the 46th session of the Baghdad International Fair, while preparing a plan to facilitate the entry of citizens and delegations participating in this annual carnival and contribute to its success.

Director General of the company Sarmad Taha Said said in a press statement, "The company received offers to participate in the next Baghdad Fair, which will be held during the period between 1-10 of November next from more than 23 Arab and foreign countries and 800 local and international companies,"

Samson:  After the curfew .. Formal working hours in Karbala

The governor of Karbala, Nasif al-Khattabi, reduced the official working hours of all government institutions to 2 pm.

A statement attributed to his office received a copy (Euphrates News) directive "in order to identify the security of the province and through the meeting of the Higher Security Committee in the province." He added that "it was decided to impose a partial curfew on the third ring, which starts from three o'clock until further notice. "The arena of peaceful demonstration for the time being in the education astronomy has also been identified and no other place is allowed."

Samson:  Deputy: Parliament will hold consecutive sessions to pass all the reform packages on the demonstrations

MP from the coalition of Saeron Abbas Alaiwi, on Monday, the House of Representatives intends to hold consecutive sessions throughout this week to pass reform packages submitted by the government, indicating that all political blocs are obliged to attend during today's meeting.

Alioui said in a statement to the information that the political situation in the country will not bear more procrastination and the parliament and political blocs to respond to the demands of the demonstrators. He added that "the lack of attendance during today's meeting will lead to fueling the situation and hold the House of Representatives responsible for government and service failures in the country."

Samson:  Parliament votes to cancel all privileges of senior state officials

The Iraqi Council of Representatives voted on Monday to cancel all allocations for the three presidencies, members of parliament, senior officials and general managers.

An informed source told (Al Furat News) that "the House of Representatives voted to cancel all the privileges and allocations of the three presidencies and members of the House of Representatives and senior officials, advisers, ministers and general directors and independent bodies and the judiciary and the Integrity Commission and the Federal Court and the Supreme Judicial Council and governors and their grade as of today's date".

Earlier in the day, the House of Representatives held a special session chaired by its speaker, Mohammed al-Halbousi, to discuss the demands of the demonstrators.  LINK

Samson:  International Monetary: Unemployment and slowing economic growth fuel the protests in Arab countries

Unemployment and slow economic growth are fueling social tension and popular protests in many Arab countries, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) said on Monday.

"As for the economic outlook, the turmoil is contributing to a slowdown in growth in the MENA region, along with global trade tensions, oil price volatility and the Brexit process," the Daily Mail said in an IMF report.

"The economic outlook for the Middle East for 2019 fell to 0.1 percent from 1.1 percent last year and the IMF has lowered its forecast for the three largest economies in the region for Saudi Arabia, Iran and the UAE, '' he said. Earlier this month tended to be negative and largely dependent on global factors.”

Jihad Azour, director of the International Monetary Fund for the Middle East and Central Asia, said that the level of growth experienced by the countries of the region is less than what is needed to tackle unemployment. 2 per cent “to bring about a decline in the unemployment rate”.

"The unemployment rate in the Middle East has reached 11 percent, especially among women and youth, with 18 percent of women without jobs since 2018, '' the IMF report said.

The report pointed out that “public debt levels are very high in many Arab countries - exceeding 85 percent of GDP on average, with rates exceeding 150 percent in Lebanon and Sudan,” noting that “new waves of demonstrations in Algeria, Sudan, Iraq and Lebanon. They all demand economic reforms and actions against corruption.”    LINK
