Our agency publishes the biography of Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani, succeeding Mustafa Al-Kazemi, the outgoing term.
He was born in the city of Baghdad in 1970, and when he reached the age of ten in 1980, the ruling regime under President Saddam Hussein executed his father and five members of his family for belonging to the banned Islamic Dawa Party at the time. He participated in the popular uprising in 1991, and because of the security conditions and harassment, he moved to Baghdad for three years until he completed his university studies.
