Francis Albert I have no sources, just a pretty good understanding of finance, Central Banking etc. and there's no way one can objectively look at the actions of the CBI over the past few years and especially the past six months, and come to any other conclusion that there's currency reform underway in Iraq.

Francis Albert There's a fellow who comes in here from time to time, (that's how I found this room), by the name of Kaperoni with some strong opinions on why a classic RV, many talk about i.e. Dinar popping to $3.00 something overnight is not going to happen. And, I totally agree with his opinion on this.
Francis Albert So, all the various bank screen stuff talked about over the years, is, of course, just silliness.
Francis Albert You would not have to know anything about much of anything regarding the economy or money and know you can not telegraph a significant change in a currency to anyone. If some big shot knew about this and even told his partner, that would be insider trading.
Francis Albert I can recall a few years ago, The Central Bank of Switzerland made a statement. They were get bombed with Euros coming in exchanging for Swiss Francs and it was driving up their currency way too much for their liking.
Rumors began to fly that they will be de pegging from the Euro. They cam out with a strong public statement saying the peg with the Euro was etched in stone etc. Two days later they de pegged from the Euro. Central banks do what they want, or what the people who control them want.
Francis Albert All evidence says the big banks, the usual suspects, control the CBI, and have since the invasion. And I believe it is in their best interests to have a stable Iraq, (that they are using to keep an eye on their "national interests" And happy Iraqi's who don't ask too many questions. So, all evidence suggests the big players, the people who own and control Dollar Inc. are supporting currency "something" in Iraq.

Francis Albert Right, in a Dollar World, which it is..more difficult, but not necessary. Look at Viet Nam ..their currency is less to the dollar than the IQD, and they are booming.

Francis Albert Well, Vietnam has huge exports all over the World... so, a currency at .0000004 (something like that) suits them just fine. Iraq's only real export is oil, and that is sold in dollars and will be till the end of the dollar.

Francis Albert Oh...the future is tough to predict. If I was on a game show and had to "had to" come up with an answer and the host knew the right answer. I would guess, the put the IQD international on FOREX at .86 and watch it trade up from there.

I don't know "they" are but I have never seen anyone say that. The only figure that means anything is the liability for currency in the CBI accounts and that currently stands at 48.5 trillion dinar.

The accounts for 2005 showed that approximately 6 trillion was required to exchange previous versions into the new dinar and since then the amount has grown significantly each year. How much currency outside Iraq is pure speculation but comparisons to population and business growth have put estimates at around 25 - 40%.
